I'm a fairly new Kriyaban, just initiated earlier this year. Prior to that I had experimented with various meditation techniques. I learned TM while in college, practiced it for awhile, then left it while immersing myself in a fundamentalist Christian sect. After that I learned a lama yoga meditation technique from the Astara mystery school, as well as some psychic meditation techniques from the Berkeley Psychic Institute.

But the most stable path is what I'm doing now, which is a very simple set of pranayams to prepare my mind, followed by meditating on Om and then using a mantra received from Sri Mata Amritanandamayi (Amma).  After sitting in that state for awhile, I conclude my session with a blessing of love and white light to family, friends, and the world.

With so many techniques out there, a person can get caught up trying to master all of them and never make meaningful spiritual progress. The key is to focus on one practice and then the progress  will occur as it meant.
