You might be surprised how my ponder on the issue of Death can lead to the connection with the leading issue of Equitable, Sustainable and Peaceful Development model hotly debated by world leaders …. this could well be considered as the Last Frontier of Growth.
Death is a topic most people avoid discussing, unless they happen to be...(more) earning their keep in the Bereavement Industry or ….. stay near to a cemetery (as I sometimes do while using my rural “hide-out”). This really should not be the case. Neither should the issue be viewed strictly in religious or spiritual context only. I intend to present an “alternative” approach here.
Through many years of observations / experiences, I genuinely feel that the discussion / research on the topic could be very gainfully done and special insights / wisdom obtained.
It was said that the Golden Phoenix literally arose from the burning ashes. Death indeed is the Last Frontier of Growth.
The “value” or “utility” of Death rests on its “functions” of placing the following relationship with everything it comes in contact with:
(1) A definite “Finiteness” (I would call the Economy aspect) (2) A definite “Equity” (I would call the Equity aspect) (3) A definite “Web” or Inter-connectedness (I would call the Ecology aspect)
An awareness of Finiteness implies “scarcity” and hence value or worth. If life is short, its value shines. In face with Death, kings and paupers are equal. It is the greatest equalizer. In addition, an appreciation of Death brings forth the awareness of the inter-connectedness or web of all things and generativities. It is the horizontal and vertical integration of all things, over times and spaces.
Thus, all the hottest issues of Equitable, Sustainable and Peaceful Development (as compared to the issues of mere economic growth as measured by the GDP)are included in / appreciated by the discussion / research on Death on down-to-earth basis. Similar issues are covered in Economy-Equity-Ecology or Profit-People-Planet …. or the Triple Bottom Line (TBL) etc. etc.
It is the Last Frontier of Growth ….. beyond mere Economics, Sociology & Politics, Philosophy and Ecology and the Sciences. Failure to materialise this Last Frontier of Growth could perhaps have very grave consequences on our Mother Earth.
Indeed, these are the issues we will be addressing / discussing in this zPod, in the context of Death as Last Frontier of Growth, for individuals, organizations, nations and civilizations. I certainly admit that my proposed approach to the topic belongs to the “Alternative Movement”?!
Truly, Death: The Last Frontier of Growth is an alternative. The more widespread and frequent we seriously discuss the issues connected with Death, the sooner we arrive at the scene of Equitable, Sustainable and Peaceful Development model …. the kind of Growth that the World truly treasures. (less)
