How to deal with sensitivy. I already read some books about beging highly sensitive and some more stuff. I tend to pick up the emotions of others and even more. And i have a problem with certain foods and drinks. |

I would say follow your gut.. I am also highly sensitive.. sometimes it can make me quite uncomfortable and I will mark it off as me being weird.. but this isnt true. If you are uncomfortable around a person confront it mentally try and figure what it is.. if its just vibes.. follow it be aware. As for foods this is a on going activity for me.. I would say keep a journal.. maybe do it here.. you can see on http://freeborn.ath.cx I have been keeping track of the heavier substances I put into my body such as caffien and DMAE, I try and keep track of the small changes and play around with the doses and then I try and decide whether the substance is really for me. Same with foods.. keep a log, I know its hard for me to remember how I felt last week when I did this or ate this.. but slowly and surely it became more concious and now I really think about what is going on inside of me…. |

I don't have many food sensitivities other than milk, but I'm not lactose intolerant, just can't handle it at certain times. I do however have a high sensitivity to others emotions (empathic), and I tend to be able to let them know that I am feeling what they are. I think this makes it a more personal experience, and they trust me more at that point. It's like a type of human interaction or bonding, that can get deeper especially if it is someone you know well. I have recently opened up to alot of my friends to let them know of my Reiki and spiritual purpose. Those I thought would think of me as weird, actually wanted to know more. Sensitivity is not always a bad thing, although it can be if it is a negative feeling around someone you don't know. I always put up my protection and carry a piece of black tourmaline to help with the personal protection and over sensitivity. Hopefully this was somewhat of a help to you. |

I think these are all great suggestions :) What I have found that untimately works for me is to always be aware of my surroundings and to make sure that my home is a place of peace and refuge. Ultimately, what has worked the best to for me to let go in order to gain more control over my own personal energy so that I use less of it in order to protect myself. Hope that helps. |
