EMERGENCE

Never hesitate to trust in that inner leading….
We are all in the midst of Supreme Intelligence.
Ernest Holmes, Creative Mind and Success

All is Infinite Being and all is eternally becoming.
The Science of Mind, page 102

SOMETIMES I can only tell who I am by looking back at who I've been.  Who I am is constantly changing, and I am emerging.  In this present moment there are no boundaries, and my playing field has grown.  I see the past as preparation for this present moment, which is the most glorious of all.

I am here in consciousness, awaiting the form of my physical life to take a new shape.  This is the nature of spiritual evolution and our human experience of it.  It is dynamic, and it is constantly in motion.  I believe that we step into our greater yet to be at the exact moment of readiness, and not a moment sooner.

Through all the changes I grow closer to God and more aware of God's love for me.  Through each step I take, I realize that the joy I feel is the joy of God realizing itself within me.

The excitement of unlimited possibility is coursing through my veins.  Most of the time, my faith and trust in God outweigh any fear.  I have surrendered into a greater idea of myself, and I am supported in a benevolent universe!  We are all emerging from the smaller into the greater.

affirmation

I fearlessly and joyously release my small self, as I emerge into my greater yet to be.

365 Tao (by Deng Ming-Dao) # 316

Rest

                   The year's end is coming;
                    I feel great contentment.
                    Completion means rest.
                    Rest means renewal.
                    Renewal means new beginnings.

Perseverance is a great virtue, but perseverance cannot be cultivated without endings.  Perseverance does not mean an endless engagement in Sisyphean tasks.  It means beginnings, middles, and ends, and then starting over again.  We are nearing the end of our year, but we could not contemplate this ending without having gone through the completions of all the days and months that have come before.

It's good to look toward the end of things.  Not only does it provide perspective, but it also provides the stepping-stone to our next endeavor.  When things end, it should ideally mean the attainment of our goals.  We should start everything with a definite goal in mind; otherwise our lives will lack purpose.  Once we attain our goals, we should be glad and rest.  We need the time for our psyches to absorb the significance of our acts.  With rest comes renewal, and with renewal we can build the force of our characters and thereby stand stronger for our futures.

In the countryside farmers frequently nap in their carts of hay as their mules automatically take them back home.  They know how to make achievements and rest at the same time!

November - Gratitude

Body

Know ye not that your body is the temple
of the Holy Ghost which is in you?
~  1 Corinthians 6:19

Emerson said that “God builds His temple in the heart,” and Seneca said that “God is to be consecrated in the breast of each.”  St. Augustine said that “the pure mind is a holy temple for God.”  To realize that God is in us, with us, and for us, is the first step toward understanding that we are the temple of the Holy Ghost.  Bishop Wilberforce tells us that “the conscious mind…is the temple of the Christ Mind.”  We must so control the conscious mind that the Christ Mind may function through it.  We must permit theSpirit to control the intellect.

Today I realize that my body is the temple of God, that there is the divine pattern of perfection at the center of my being.  I will not think of my physical body as being separated from this spiritual Presence.  The Presence is the Cause, the body is the effect, and the two are one.  Therefore, I, too will exclaim: “In my flesh, shall I see God.”

The Universe has been called the Great Trinity,
or Triune Unity of Spirit, Soul, and Body -
the Body being the result, the effect,
the objectification of Spirit

TURNING TOWARD THE LIGHT

The greater Force is that of the Illumined Mind, a Mind no longer of higher thought, but of spiritual light.
Sri Aurobindo, The Life Divine

God is perfect life, and when we enter His light, we are healed.
The Science of Mind, page 501

SEVERAL years ago I was working at my desk at home when I heard an odd buzzing sound.  Thinking my computer had mal-functioned, I looked under my desk.  I saw a small back-and-yellow-banded bumblebee that must have flown in through the patio door.  The bee buzzed around under my desk, but it seemed disoriented and kept bumping into the desk instead of going toward the sunlight that was streaming in through my patio door.  I thought insects were supposed to be attracted to light, so I was confused by its behavior.  I finally said out loud to the bee, “Why don't you go toward the light?  You could get out if you turned toward the light.”  Suddenly, it hit me that this bee was giving me a mighty message: Turn toward the Light!

How often we forget that and just keep bumping our head against our problems like my little visitor.  I kept thinking about this message.  What we give our attention to persists in our experience.  So we must turn away from the conditions we do not want to perpetuate in our lives.  When we turn toward the light within, we move into freedom, just like my little friend the bee who, eventually, did find its way out.

affirmation

I open myself to the light within me.  I turn away from the appearance of problems and go toward the light of my healing.

A Year With Rumi by Coleman Barks

Inside the Rose (1)

That camel there with its calf running behind it,
Sutur and Koshek, we are like them;
mothered and nursed
by where and whom we are from,
following our fates where they lead,

until we hear a drum begin,
grace entering our lives, a prayer of gratitude.

We feel the call of presence,
and the journey changes.

A dry field of stones turns soft and moist
as cheese.  The mountain feels level under us.

Loves becomes agile and quick,
and suddenly we are there.

This traveling is not done with the body.
God's secret takes form in our loving.

SOM Text p. 317.3 - 318.4

Let us again briefly go over what it is that one must do. He must first of all BELIEVE. The supposition is that the reader already believes or he would not be studying thus far. Why must we believe? Because God is belief. god is belief and belief is Law, and Law produces form, in substance. When Jesus explained to his disciples that they had failed to heal because of lack of faith, they protested that they did have faith in God. Jesus explained to them that this was insufficient; they must have the faith of God. The faith of God is very different from a faith in God. The faith of God IS God, and somewhere along the line of our spiritual evolution this transition will gradually take place, where we shall cease having a faith IN and shall have a faith OF. Always in such degree as this happens, a demonstration takes place. We must believe because God is belief; the physical Universe is built out of belief - faith, belief, acceptance, conviction.

This in only the starting point. What good is the possibility until it is used? What good is knowledge unless we make practical application of it? Therefore we must definitely speak our conviction in concrete form in Mind. A treatment should always be definite, specific, concrete. In practical treatment one does not because subjective. The creative act is always conscious. In other words, a treatment moves in thought, sets something in motion, is an active thing.

For instance, suppose we have received a request for help for a physical condition. Immediately we take the name of the person in consciousness - as every man maintains his identity in Universal Mind, just as he maintains it in the physical world - and we declare the truth about that man, the truth about the spiritual man, and we know that the truth about Spiritual Man is the truth about that man's condition right now. First, recognition; second, unification. We continue to do this until something comes into our consciousness which say “Yes”. We know the work has been accomplished. This is the third step: realization. This is what a treatment is. Perhaps we would hold this consciousness a while, and we might repeat this treatment two or three times a day for a time. If we have agreed to treat the man, we should be certain to do so. At the same time, we should be careful, after the treatment has been given, that we take no responsibility of trying to make it work. The Law will work from its own energy; how, we do not know.

No matter what the need may be, whether we call it physical disease, poverty, unhappiness, lack of opportunity, or need for love and friendship, we should confirm the words in our treatment to meet the necessity of the case. Because we are all members of one another, the word of the practitioner will rise through the consciousness of his patient into experience. There is a law in physics which says that water will reach its own level by its own weight. There is a law of metaphysics corresponding to it; consciousness will externalize at its own level, by its own recognition. We may call this faith, we may call it embodiment, we may call it whatever we will, there is something in the Universe which responds and corresponds to our mental states.

Kabbalah 365 - Daily Fruit from the Tree of Life
by Gershon Winkler

Day 316

Why was Moses considered the greatest of all prophets and prophetesses among the Israelites (Deuteronomy 34:10) ?  Because, when all of the other prophets of Israel would look beyond the Veil, they would think that they caught a glimpse of God.  But Moses was so great a prophet that when he would look beyond the Veil, he would know for certain that he had not caught a glimpse of God.

Insight
I am open and receptive to God's wisdom.

If I've asked for something in prayer, I must prepare myself to receive the answer. By opening my mind and heart to whatever the answer may be, I remain receptive to spiritual wisdom. It may come through a conversation with a friend, an informative book or even from the lyrics of a song. I may witness a brilliant sunset or receive a thoughtful drawing from a child. Regardless, I will feel a deep resonance and peace with the answer I receive, a closeness to God, as I realize this message was intended for me.

I connect with God in infinite ways, and I am guided. Remaining conscious of God's presence, I recognize the answer.

If you indeed cry out for insight, and raise your voice for understanding; … then you will … find the knowledge of God.–Proverbs 2:3, 5
