365 Science of Mind p. 360 December - Light Today I consciously Live in the Eternal Presence - Matthew 6:33 - The Bhagavad-Gita Since the Kingdom of God is a Kingdom of righteousness, and since it is a Kingdom that contains everything, then it becomes of prime importance to seek this Kingdom, which Jesus so plainly stated is to be found within the self; that Self upon which is set the stamp of the Eternal - the God-Self. The real Self is inseparable from God, thus in discovering the self, we also discover God, the Cause of the self. Everything is included within the Divine, and since we are in It and It is in us, true self-discovery is the key to the mysteries of life. Hermes tells us that God has everything within Itself as thought, that the whole cosmos itself is a thing of consciousness. This is the true City of God - the city of right thoughts and right actions, the city that is four square, the length and breadth and thickness of which are equal. This is the city that Saint Augustine so beautifully depicts in his great essay on the relationship of the individual soul to the Universal Spirit. All the sages have plainly told us that we already walk the streets of this city, but, like the slaves of Plato, our vision is blurred by shadows cast on the wall of human experience. Evil deals with shadow; Truth deals with light, which dispels the shadow. We are of the Truth. Evil is neither person, place, nor thing. Today I consciously live in the Eternal Presence. The Kingdom of Heaven is within me and I live in the City of God. I am one with all other citizens who inhabit this celestial metropolis. Here, in a true communion of Spirit, I find unity, peace, and joy. |

Science of Mind Magazine Daily Guide for 12/05/07 By Rev. Ron Fox COURAGE Usually we think the brave have no fear, the truth is they are intimate with it. Pema Chodrin Know your own mind. Train yourself to think what you wish to think. The Science of Mind, page 188 WALKING the spiritual path means having the courage to live from a place that differs from what much of the world values. It is like making a left turn when everyone else is making a right turn: it is not always easy to live like this. When it feels hard to stay the course, it may help to remember that we are one in God. With Spirit at our side we can rely on the fact we are always safe no matter what we are encountering. Ernest Holmes said, “The life at the center of our being is as perfect as it can ever become.” So when we are faced with a difficult situation and we go within for direction, we are in touch with the highest and most sacred part of ourselves. What can be better than that? The path may still feel difficult, because we are being called to leave our comfort zone, and that takes courage. It means facing our fears and moving beyond them. Pema Chodrin, quoted above, recounts a conversation with her husband in which he says “Because you are a complete coward, but you do things anyway.” That is courage. Put the fear aside and know with all your heart that Spirit is doing it with you. affirmation Right now, I know that I am completely connected to my divine source; we are inseparable.

Science of Mind Text p. 536M3 & 537M1 Arise, My Spirit
Arise, my Spirit, arise and shine. Let Thy light illumine my path, and let Thy wisdom direct my way. Compel my will to do Thy bidding, and command my Soul to look to Thee. I will follow Thee, my Spirit, and learn of Thee. I will sit in the Silence and listen and watch, and I will see Thy light and hear Thy voice. I will follow Thee and will not depart from Thee, For in Thee alone is Peace. Arise and shine. Command My Soul Spirit within me, command my Soul to do Thy bidding; Compel me to follow the course of Truth and Wisdom. Control my inward thoughts and my outward ways, And make me to understand Thy Laws. Command my Soul to turn to Thee for guidance and light; To turn to Thee for wisdom and knowledge. Let the paths of my Life be made straight and sure; Let the Journey of my Soul find its completion in Thee. Command my Soul to do Thy bidding. |

SOM Magazine Daily Guide for 12/05/08 By Steven Van Meter, RScP CONSTRUCTIVE CHANGES
O you afflicted one, tempest-tossed and not comforted, behold, I will set your stones in beryl, and lay your foundations with sapphires. Isaiah 54:11 The law of our life reacts to our spiritual or material concepts and builds and rebuilds according to our beliefs and faith. The Science of Mind, page 32 I RECEIVED a call from an individual asking, “Do you believe in positive thinking?” I responded that positive thoughts are our starting point, but positive living and spiritual knowing are our goal and our guide. If positive thinking doesn't improve our life condition, it would be “positively pointless to continue.” A life-affirming positive outlook reshapes our world because Spirit responds to our deepest desires and shapes them according to our true beliefs. Single thoughts usually do not noticeably affect our physical reality. If they did, our life would change like the images of a kaleidoscope. The nature of the process of life is the building and the breaking down of form. As we evaluate our beliefs, and eliminate those which aren't functional, we must also maintain the useful components and rebuild a more constructive awareness through constructive thinking. The rebuilding of our consciousness, values, and how we serve humankind is an ongoing process. Life is an ongoing process of evaluating our beliefs, and, in some instances, changing those beliefs. A willingness to change beliefs as we focus on spiritual truth will result in new and better experiences. Constructive changes come from a consciousness and willingness to experience the present moment. affirmation Today I release the emotional weight of my yesterdays and focus on the truth of my being. I joyously welcome the new peace, the new abundance, and the new love that is manifest as my life today. |
