Science of Mind Magazine Daily Guide for 7/04/08 By Rev. Dr. Ruth Deaton INDEPENDENCE Gratitude is a powerful process for shifting your energy and bringing more of what you want into your life. The Secret The Mind of man is some part of the Mind of God…it contains within itself unlimited possibility of expansion and self-expression. Ernest Holmes, The Science of Mind, page 390 TODAY is Independence Day in the United States. The country's independence came about because of a specific intention of its people to gain it. The colonies' residents knew that no matter the odds, if they were single-minded about it they would succeed; they set forth a declaration to claim it, and they achieved it. These same steps are required to gain one's independence from any habitual situation, whether it is insufficient money, poor health, troubling relationships, addiction or another undesirable experience. First you need to know what you want. What would independence look and feel like to you? It helps to write about it, putting color and emotion into the new awareness of one's independence. Paraphrasing Ernest Holmes, we should stay with an idea as if it were fulfilled, until it actually is. We know good is happening invisibly, through our attitude and thought. Continually giving thanks for your good helps to speed it along. Claim your independence with vigor and joy. affirmation Freedom is priceless. I am free to choose independence as my experience today. I keep my focus on my good. |

A Year With Rumi by Coleman Barks One Song Every war and every conflict between human beings has happened because of some disaggreement about names. It is such an unnecessary foolishness, because just beyond the arguing there is a long table of companionship set and waiting for us to sit down. What is praised is one, so the praise is one too, many jugs being poured into a huge basin. All religions, all this singing, one song. The differences are just illusion and vanity. Sunlight looks a little different on this wall than it does on that wall and a lot different on this other one, but it is still one light. We have borrowed these clothes, these time-and-space personalities, from a light, and when we praise, we are pouring them back in. |
