I purchased this book just this morning, in fact. I've known about it for a few years, but only today did I stumble upon a copy. I suppose the time is right to begin studying and working with it.  I look forward to any discussion that may take place on this pod.

It's a good book. Maybe a little too “Gee Whiz” accepting of a certain model of 'energy', but, it definitely gives you sopme things to think about.

And if you do the practices, well, prepare for a bit of a ride.

An excellent title for an intro to Hermetics is The Way of Hermes, a book which includes the latest and best translation of not only the entire Corpus Hermeticum, but also includes The Definitions of Hermes Trismegistus to Asclepius.  This book also tells the history of these documents and how they relate to and reformed Western Thought in the first three centuries of the Christian era and beyond.

I very highly recommend this book to anyone interested in Hermetics, High Magic, and Western Occult Traditions.

I am only familiar with the emerald tablet, it is in the book:
three books of occult philosophy - henry cornelious agrippa III of Nettesheim
I hope i spelled that right

it is a powerful document, I have a song that is so labeled Hermes, because it is based entirely on the emerald tablet.

Hermeticism is sucha a valuable resources for occultist today because in the proper light it can energize the entire paradigm of occultism. Occultism its self has its roots in Hermetic philosophy. I am currently working on a book that updates and articulates new hermeticism.
