&lt;p&gt;      I have been&amp;nbsp;watching the progress of &lt;a href="http://www.intel.com/technology/mooreslaw/index.htm" target="_blank"&gt;Moore&amp;#39;s Law &lt;/a&gt;since the beginning - and during three months sick leave in late 2003 - following a severe broken ankle accident&amp;nbsp;- I put together &lt;a href="http://my-head.zaadz.com/blog/2006/8/telecommunications_infrastructure_developments#comments" target="_blank"&gt;this&lt;/a&gt; time-line schematic which absolutely indicates to me that - in terms of the telecommunications application of the underlying chip technology - we had already left the&amp;nbsp; steady gradient - so to speak - and started to go exponential.  &lt;/p&gt;
