What changes when change changes ?

I have been watching the progress of Moore's Law since the beginning - and during three months sick leave in late 2003 - following a severe broken ankle accident - I put together this time-line schematic which absolutely indicates to me that - in terms of the telecommunications application of the underlying chip technology - we had already left the  steady gradient - so to speak - and started to go exponential.
