NEW DESCRIPTION BY OM BASTET (1Vector3)

I would like to revive this Group because I think MicroDonations are crucially important in building the kind of world I want to live in, and that you probably want, too.

The focus of the Group previously was on having the Group be a nexus of givers and receivers of donations....(more)

Useful Zaadz Tips

Here's a thread where anyone can post useful Zaadz tips.

* * *

* At any pod, you can get to a page with all the posts in chronological order.  Hover your mouse cursor above the “discussions” link, so below that a “recent posts” link will appear. (Or simply click “discussions”). Then, click the “recent posts” link, and you'll reach the Recent Posts page!

Here's a shortcut to the Recent Posts page for the Donations & Microdonations for Individuals & Groups pod: http://pods.zaadz.com/microdonations/discussions/recent

* You can add HTML formatting to any message you write on Zaadz by turning off JavaScript in your web browser before you go to the page with the text editor box where you compose your message.

* * *

* Here's a tip that's useful not only for Zaadz, but for any form of internet communications.

If you want to make sure you don't lose anything you write due to some internet glitch stopping your message from successfully being sent, you should compose and save all your messages in a text editor on your own computer, then copy and paste them into your web browser when you're ready to send them.

If you don't know how to copy and paste things on your computer, you should definitely learn.  Here's a basic tutorial I found on the web: How to Copy, Cut, and Paste in Windows.

To boil that down a bit - when you highlight text and press “Ctrl” and “C” on the keyboard at the same time, that will copy the highlighted text to the clipboard.  When you click someplace else in a text editing window somewhere and press “Ctrl” and “V” on the keyboard at the same time, that will paste what you previously copied.

The text editor you use can be something as simple as the free Notepad or WordPad (which both come free with Windows, and should be available when you go to the Start menu, then go to All Programs, and look in the Accessories folder).  Or, you can use an unnecessarily elaborate word processor like Microsoft Word or OpenOffice

Or even the AOL software.  I've found AOL 9.0's formatting capabilities to be very compatible with Zaadz, and the way I back up/save the final formatted versions of messages I post to Zaadz is using AOL 9.0.

My personal favorite text editor, though, is the free NoteTab Light, and I highly recommend it,, even though it's perhaps not the absolute best choice for writing messages to post for Zaadz, unless you do all the formatting via HTML, or don't mind having to add the formatting later, after you copy and paste your message into your web browser.

It's a plain text editor with tabs like Firefox, so you can easily switch between editing multiple text files.  And, the programmable Clipbook is extremely powerful and useful, and I highly recommend learning how to program it.

* In my experience, the Firefox web browser works best with Zaadz, and I've heard that Safari is also good.  However, Internet Explorer 6 is not especially compatible with Zaadz.

So, if you have any trouble loading the site, trying different web browsers (especially Firefox) may be a possible solution.

* If you're having a hard time remembering all the zPro sites you've joined, you can see a list of the zPro sites you belong to by clicking on the :”account” link around the upper right corner, then, under “Subscriptions and Notifications”, clicking “Pod Discussions”.

The zPro sites you've joined will be listed amongst the pods you've joined.

That's all I can think of for now.  Thanks to everyone and everything that helped me learn of these tips. :-)

So, what are some of your Zaadz tips? :-)

Another useful Zaadz tip I recently figured out.

Here's an easy way to back up your received Zaadz mail - that is, if you already have an easy way to back up your regular email.

To make it so the full text of any mail that is sent to you on Zaadz is sent to you in the notifications of new Zaadz mail which are sent to your regular email address:

Click the “account” link at the upper right, then under Subscriptions and Notifications, click “Incoming Mail”.  Put a check in the checkbox underneath “Full Content”, then click the “Save” button.

Now you should receive the full text of your Zaadz mail at your regular email address, and you can back it up the same way you back up your regular email.
