2-Week Plan of Attack

Fred said Mar 17, 2007, 10:31 PM:

Here is a concept that I developed recently to help keep my business plan going strong.

The concept starts with a principle that I have had in my mind for a long time

It is easier to take several little steps than to try and take a big leap.

Out of little steps, making progress a little bit at a time, we can make consistent, steady progress towards a larger goal.  Just like a tree grows small rings every year, eventually, those rings make up a larger trunk, strong and firmly rooted in its purpose of holding soil in place, providing habitat for organisms, and creating new oxygen.  Nature understands the principle and applies it with great success.

We should take cues from mother nature more often.  Out of this principle, I developed a short list of progressive tasks which keep my business plan on track and productive.  I call it the “Two Week Plan of Attack”.

On my “Two Week Plan of Attack” are three tasks that I feel are reachable within two weeks.  They all contribute to my business plan.

If you have ever created a business plan, you know what a daunting task it can be.  If you are like me, much research is needed to back up the Big Idea so I can secure the funding needed to make it grow into a successful venture.

So, I have three tasks set forth to accomplish over the next two weeks, and by doing this, I have set realistic goals for myself and avoided the intimidation factor that we all feel when working on large projects.

Hope this helps someone,

Fred

This is truly touching. I have a plan, right.
However, money to begin with is my challenge. I'm sure even with little I would put it to proper use and accumulate enough to fund my plan but nothing…

Hi Saidi

Well, if I were looking at your challenge purely from how it we could benefit it, the first thing I would tell you to do is to visit http://www.kiva.org/ and start there.

Now, go and contact them! Also, this paritcular post would be better placed under the “Help Me!” Hotline Board (go here: for any other communication like this - http://pods.zaadz.com/momentum/discussions/board/4616)

take care!

Oh, my best regards to both Fred and Suffola. I'm trying to learn both sites and I will post my feedback.

This is what I really wanted. The beginning of a new era in my life-tending to success and FINANCIAL INDEPENDENCE (my biggest goal in life).

Take care and please thanks for caring.

Hi Fred,

Thats a great idea.  Breaking up the big picture business plan  into smaller steps makes the whole journey less overwhelming and allows an opportunity to focus.

I find when I am creating plans that the big picture vision moves so fast I can get overrun with too much to do.  My mind moves so much faster than I can get it down.   I tend to use this concept moving back and forth with the big picture vision of the plan.  It works really well for my work flow and helps me understand what I need to convey to achieve this plan.

As with the excellent tree analogy, when you look back and see what you've grown, ring by ring, all these 2 week plans grow a grand tree.

Very right Fred.
We need to start small and keep growing.
When one has the desire, patience and intelligence, no matter how the business plan may be, his/her goal will be achieved. It all depends on intelligence, ability to manage people and the ability to put funds to proper use. Most of us are challenged through financial management and that's the biggest hinderance together with managing people that hinder businesses if those two are not properly looked into.
Otherwise nature bows to forces of intelligence and conspires in helping the intelligent achive their dreams.

Thanks for that post.
