Help!

Hello all.
I am here becasue I am trying to open a Spirtual retreat and education center and a Ministry(i don't like to term “church”) focused on teaching empowerment, accountability, sustainability and self awareness.
I also want to write a book…which is really already written, but where to go from here.

My challenge is- what status should it have as a not for profit or profit.
Being a rebel or sorts, I have an issue (personally) with authority and being told what to do (as my Mother will attest) 
If it is a not for profit, I feel that the “man” (lol) would have alot of control over many aspects of the business, and being that it is spiritual work, I have an issue with  more taxation which would limit the philanthropic work and solicitation for donations that  the work would need…

So…..HELP…..
I called a non profit attorney and talked for 10 minutes, he ssent me a bill for 280.00 and Istill have no answers…lol

I am a Pisces..details are not my strong suit, and this is the part I did not like about  my business the first time…. I would very much appreciate the insight of entrepreneurs such as yourselves…maybe a Capricorn or Virgo(just kidding!)

In order to have your non profit endeavor it is necessary to form your non profit status.

can get you started on your marketing plan.

I understand your protest but to be ethical, set a good example and follow the laws of the land it is good to take time out and read through your forms; make certain you don't go past words or symbols not understood to make the administrative portion flow easily.

If you already have a following started you can also open a DBA (doing business as) while you are getting the above legal rudiments lined up and ready to file.  Putting a long term future there will help grow your mission or spiritual retreat.

My personal viewpoints do not infringe on my compliance…We do have to exist within the confines of the system….lol

One of my spiritual lessons in this life are …details… I do it, but I struggle with liking it…

I am not an Anarchist, just a free thinker…It must come from a past life of losing some freedom to an oppressing invasion….lol

You are not alone.  Some of these things are harder to think about and get through than just doing it.

We have lived many lives.  Some do affect our decisions.  Some times it good to just say “I'm over it” forgive and live in present time while creating your new future.  One of the meditations is to “Take a Walk” then sit and write out your new decisions and to do lists and knock off one thing at a time.  You arrive.  One of the greatest gifts you have is the joy of creating and putting all of your wisdom to those that need your guidance.

None of us like the struggle…find a friend to bounce off of.  Makes the journey lighter.
Find something you like in the things you dislike.  Admiration is the highest particle on planet earth.  That is tough too but gets easier with practice.  I dislike filing so I use colored folders and put my own create on my catagories of organization.

Hi all!  Kathy, that is so true!  If you can master this concept, you can master all of your quirks.  Nicely put.  We need to expand on this concept.
