Formal and informal words for 'father'

Meenakshi said Jun 20, 8:09 PM:

As it's Father's Day in the U.S. on June 20th, I wondered what people in different languages call their father, and what is the formal word for 'father'.

In Hindi, we call 'father' Pita [soft 't'] [pronounced pitaa] though usually fathers are called by different names. e.g. we called my dad 'Dada' which actually is for older brothers.

Formal in Spanish is papá.  Informal, you have papi, pipa, papito…

Blessings!
