Opinion: Detainee Bill, Habeas Corus, & Horny Congressmen

Well, HR 6054 has been passed. Habeas Corus is gone, and it’s Foley’s horny emails to unwilling teenagers is whats making the big news tonight. This is a disturbing pattern of distraction that has long since been formed in the American Media Cartels. To keep focus off this horrendous bill, all the news and call-in talk shows have been talking about nothing but this sensationalised crap about Foley. Good grief, everybody and their mother knew what he was up to at least as long as a year ago if not more. One might think that he has been allowed to do this for some time, carefully keeping his skeletons in the closet until the most opportune moment for public distraction.

I mean, isn’t this blatant violation of American Law…not to mention the Magna Carta and US Constitution much bigger news than Foley’s icky forays into executive tea room hothouse antics? Come on now…Don’t be distracted by the sensationalism, keep looking at whats going on that matters.

Thanks for the heads up, Argus, it is pretty tempting to just savor that moment, hoping it is going to crack open that nest of pedophiles.
But your right, the horrid bills that have been slipping though are where our focus should be. They've made us all potential criminals just for opposing our insane leader.
And, of course, we have another horrific school shooting to fill the other 20 minutes of their so called newscast.
Too convenient, especially given what we know.
Keep us on our toes!
Thanks-
Lela

It is really disheartening to see that the real news is not covered.  Unfortunately, the networks are all owned by the same big corporations that are behind our government.  Reporters that step outside the lines lose there jobs and many find their original stories come back to their desks no longer belonging to them.  It is amazing to listen to a press conference and watch a  reporter ask a question, only to cow down from an intimidating response from the speaker.  I heard a reporter say (can't recall the name) back in the 80's to a group of fellow reporters that they had all become “presstitutes”.   There was a HUGE peace rally in Washington today, to which I saw very little coverage of and it was given in a very mundane and monotone fashion.  However, last night they had a quite lively report about the discouraged soldiers not feeling supported by the American public.  Perfect timing, huh?  I haven't seen anything on how many soldiers have gone AWOL, refusing to go back . Many have said that they refuse to follow through on the amoral orders that are being given to them.  You won't hear this on the nightly news.  Tue.  I think is the trial of the first AWOL soldier.  Do you suppose we will get to here why he refuses to go back or how unpatriotoc he is?

Here is a great online newspaper I found.  It is dedicated to getting the real news out and is great.  I have learned so much from it and am passing it on to as many people as I can.
