Wow, this is a big question full of possibility. I say believing in a 21 day process is limiting and should not be your focus. Basically, changing subconscious thoughts (rewiring your neuronet) can be done so by thinking new thoughts consciously. New Thought and many other scientists and healers agree that your conscious thoughts become subconscious thoughts and it is your subconscious thoughts that connect you to the Universe (God, Divine Power) which manifests everything you believe in. Changing your subconscious thoughts in order to manifest (demonstrate) what you want could take a long time (over 21 days) or a short time (instantaneously) based on the frequency of your similar conscious thoughts, the height of your emotion and your faith (belief) in the possibility of the outcome. But if you truly believe something it can instantaneously happen (for example, an immediate physical healing). Religious Science, a New Thought teaching, teaches a concrete and proven method in which to change your thinking and I have used successfully in every area of my life.

You are right, there is a concrete science behind our thoughts and the power of our thoughts. We are all on a path of discovery. Don't limit yourself along the way. When thinking consciously about what you want to experience in your life also consciously tell your self you have results immediately and completely and monitor your thoughts to make sure you are really "asking" for what you want. The world is your oyster; ask for what you want, setting any perimeters that you like and it will happen.

Hi,

Thanks for starting this Pod. I'm new to Zaadz, and very new to this Pod, and I'm just following my nose around the site. My wife and I are part of a New Thought spiritual community here in San Diego, California called The Unity Center. I teach World Religions classes there twice a year or so, and the associate minister, Will Newsom and I are preparing a series of classes for next summer on the philosophical roots of New Thought. We want to show how New Thought is new only in the sense that it was a radical departure from the mainstream Christianity of the 19th century from which it sprouted. My own work in philosophy (as a professor at a community college) leads very nicely into all of this. We want to present Plato, Plotinus, Emerson, the Upanishads and the Vedas, Buddhism, mystical Christianity (and mysticisms of all stripes) as roots to New Thought. Might even touch on the Deism of Jefferson, Paine, et al...

Any suggestions would be much appreciated...

I dont know anything about the practice of New Thought but I do understand the process of consciouness. I know that once you focus on a thought you want manifested in life so it can be sync. up and experianced takes Focus. Focusing and contemplation of the thought from consciousness for 21 days will "Hardwire" the neuronet so synaptic firings from the neurons will manifest the object seeing through the observer of quantum physics(you).
Does anyone agree with this?

I have extensive training in Religious Science -- it was indeed my first spiritual home when I started exploring these ideas many years ago. Ernest Holmes is certainly a giant in New Thought, and I have collected just about all of his published books and SOM annuals, as well as a few hundred old, old SOM magazines. I have also gathered some old "Nautilus" magazines, which were published in the early 1900's that really show the importance of the movement-- and its somewhat avant-garde thrust into a fairly conservative Judeo-Christian society.

I have grown to love SO many great teachers and decided to become an independent minister after doing a lot of inner work while taking classes at Unity Village-- if you have never been-- go!! It is truly a wonderful place and their facility is gorgeous. They offer Spiritual Education & Enrichment classes on site for a week at a time three times a year. All are welcome, the thing you need is an open heart and open mind and you will hear the one Truth expressed Divinely in a way only Unity can.

So-- Emma Curtis Hopkins, Charles & Myrtle Fillmore, PP Quimby, MB Eddy, Joel Goldsmith, Walter Starcke (has a wondeful new book!), Wayne Dyer, Eckhart Tolle, Depak Chopra, Ken Wilber, Richard Hawkins, Emmet Fox, Emerson, Troward-- and Religious Science greats Bitzer, Greyson, Holland, Barker-- Unity's H. Emile Cady and Eric Butterworth-- and on and on! I love them all and welcome any and all new thoughts and ideas.

There is One Life in which we live and move and have our Being-- and the possibilities are Infinite!

Hello Members and Welcome to New Thought Teachings!

I am an independent New Thought minister and a lover of all of the great teachers of the "Wisdom of the Ages." I always think it is somewhat ironic that the movement was (is) called "New Thought" when, in fact, it is the inherent Truth that runs through all Spiritual ideas since man had such thoughts. Emerging consciousness, Conscious Evolution, Integral Being are all modern spins on this same Truth-- but we are advancing in our understanding and expanding our awareness with each idea whose time has come.

Feel free to post anything that you would like to talk about: a spiritual idea, metaphysics, a favorite book, a great teacher, or even an issue with which you may be struggling-- we are all One-- so what affects you affects each one of us.

I'm happy to join this pod. I'm looking forward to some great discussions. I am a member of the Center for Spiritual Living (formerly First Church of Religious Science) in Bakersfield, California. Over the past couple of years I have taken a number of classes and have studied a number of the authors and great metaphysicians that are mentioned here. I will be beginning my second year of Practitioner Training next month and will be starting up a new series of books so hopefully I can use this pod to generate some discussion to help with the understanding of some of the greatest thinkers in the history of mankind.
