New York, NY -November 7, 2007 - The New York Post joins hundreds of eco-innovative exhibitors and speakers in helping to make New York greener at the city's first ever Go Green Expo on April 26th and April 27th at the Hilton New York Hotel. With an anticipated attendance of more than 10,000, the two day celebration will highlight the latest in energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly products and services, interactive seminars and speeches, as well as an eco-film festival, and chic to be green fashion show. As part of parent company News Corporation's commitment to engaging audiences and business partners on energy and climate change issues, the New York Post will highlight Expo exhibitors in a special section on Green Living that will be featured in-paper. This unprecedented partnership and subsequent advertising platform is slated to reach over 2.3 million readers in the New York metropolitan area.
Created as a forum for increasing awareness of energy and environmental challenges, showcasing green products and services and educating the public and corporate world, Go Green Expo will be divided into separate eco-pavilions including: transportation; energy alternatives; sustainable home design; green investing; organic food and wine; green office; health & beauty and an interactive children's learning center.
“We are undoubtedly at a critical time in history where people, planet and profit are properly aligning in an effort to combat the current climate crisis,” says Bradford Rand, CEO Go Green Expo. “We hope to enlighten, entertain and educate consumers and business owners with ways in which they can do their part. Having such an influential partner as the New York Post is a tremendous way to communicate the important message of going green.”
In addition to guest speakers and exhibitors from the nation's most influential eco-minded business leaders, the event will boast the latest in green design and function. Designed and executed by Stetson, a green exposition and tradeshow contractor, the event will feature 100% recycled visqueen flooring, 100% compostable and biodegradable wastebasket liners, 100% compostable and biodegradable table top coverings, recycled material booth ID signs, biodegradable banner material, soy and water based inks and natural gas powered forklift and an extensive recycling and waste management program that takes environmental and social ramifications into account by utilizing local donation programs.
Publisher of the New York Post, Paul Carlucci, said, “Partnering with the Go Green Expo is an exciting opportunity to reach our readers and the New York community on an issue of increasing relevance. This is also a great chance to provide our advertisers with a platform to connect with their customers.”
More than 20 of the nation's top eco-minded non-profit groups will also be on hand to participate in the inaugural Go Green Expo event with educational booths and noteworthy speakers from organizations including: Riverkeeper, World Wildlife Fund, New York Restoration Project (NYRP), The Council on the Environment (CENYC), American Forest Foundation, The Rainforest Alliance and Habitat for Humanity to name a few.
Additionally, attendees eager to make a positive impact as soon as possible will be able to sign up for ConEd Solutions WIND Power. Guests who bring their Con Edison utility bill with them can sign up on site and receive free admission to Go Green Expo 2008.

The paper has also switched to more energy-efficient lighting in its offices and printing plant, and is working to further reduce the non-renewable energy use of its facilities and transportation fleet. The company also offers employees an incentive to purchase a hybrid vehicle. For more information on the New York Post and News Corporation's energy work, visit www.newscorp.com/energy.
