I've come to realize that one of the best ways to learn about herbs and supplements is to invite other people to talk about their experiences with a particular herb or supplement and how it affects them.

One of my favorites is an ayurvedic herb called Ashwaganda. It is reported to improve brain function, and help with stress and stamina. It is an adaptogen, so it adapts in our bodies to address the particular healing aspect of it that we need.

Since taking it I've experienced many benefits. I travel to New York from Florida twice per month to attend classes at The Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Ashwaganda helps me to have zero jet lag when I get back on those red-eye flights! Also, I used to have very bad lower back pain. That has been zero too since taking this supplement! I'd definitely give this Indian herb two thumbs up!

What supplements have you experimented with?
