There's is a reason we taste sweet on the tip of our tongue. We are sweet seekers. Our body needs carbohydrates for fuel. I don't think there's anything wrong with sugar per se. Refined sugars, yes. But sugar (glucose) is cellular fuel. If you're not getting calories from sugar then you're getting calories from fat or protein - both of which have to be transformed into sugars for fuel. Sugar in fruits comes with vitamins, minerals, fiber, essential fat, protein, and a plethora of nutrients. It's great fuel for optimal human health and performance. |
