My Spiritual/Mystic Experience

Bhatta said Aug 23, 7:10 PM:

Hi friends,
I am starting a new thread. Let us all share and discuss our mystic and spiritual experiences in this thread. In India, the spiritual travelers hold a “satsang” where they often share and discuss such personal experiences, thus evolving collaboratively.

I had a strange mystic experience. I had just finished posting Cross of the Greek Orthodox Church and was reading other threads. After a while I found in the group activity widget that Laurie had posted Celtic Cross.
I went back to the thread and started reading Laurie's post. As I was reading my eyes moved and focused on the image of the Celtic Cross. I saw the cross oscillating slowly from right to left. It moved to and fro for almost 10-15 seconds and then became stationary again.

Well that doesn't surprise me..
That stuff happens to me all the time..
Did you watch the video that was linked to the source that Laurie posted?
I will hold satsang with you and explain. Thank you for opening this discussion.
Strange things have been opening up for quite awhile..

Bhatta, to make a long story from many years ago relevant to now, isn't easy.
Back in '73, at a low point in my progression. It (GOD) manifested its self to me in the form of a Butterfly. First just one, then hundreds then many more.
It seems sometimes, like when ever I need one (a nudge).. they show up again.

I tried to blog on it here, and other places that I just can't put a lasso on right now.
I find all the little crumbs are connected when I really make the effort to see the bigger picture. We are all connected…I feel that…

Laurie the time travel thing is a trip..and I hope your trajectory remains close to home base for a few more parsecs…but we never know..Kinda like Vicki Cruse.

Kathy I will look into to DVD thanks for the link.

When my sister and I were ages 7 and 8 we simultaneously, and quite by accident, traveled backward in time, finding ourselves in what seemed to be the old west. It was not a dream. To this day, we have no idea how we did it.

Two years ago, and quite intentionally, my good friend Susan Wisehart (author of Soul Visioning) used “holographic time” to send me forward in time to meet my future self. I would guess that I was somewhere between age 88 and 92. I also got to meet my granddaughter (somwhere between age 28 and 32).  By the way, she is not even conceived yet.  It was not a dream. I have no idea how she did it.

Amazing experiences, both!

Nicole - I don't know that I have any real 'understanding' of the world, but I can say that those experiences have definitely changed my 'perspective' of the world – seen and unseen.

As far as confidence … I know that I'm not 'bullet-proof' (so to speak).  Just because I saw myself (cute as a bug's ear) at an advanced age, I am fully aware that I have free will (as do others) and a poor choice on my part (or theirs) could cause a swift change in my current trajectory.

Great story Laurie.  Thanks for sharing.

I have had success with others and myself of running the time track using the 8 steps in Dianetics. The first session my friend had done with me was mind blowing. Asking, are you putting those scenes there in my mind?  She goes, no, I just give the command and you run (talk about) what comes up. After reading the book I was able to write music & take up ballet once more.  I see how anything can be rehabilitated and made whole once more. It was pure magic…something we can do each day.

I got the new Dianetics book on dvd, showed an 11 year old girl how to do it on an adult in a seminar.  She did the 8 steps and when he was 12 he was put under to have his tonsils taken out.  He relived the scene and after the session said he was healed of a sore throat that was still haunting him at age 34.  A 14 yr. old did the simple steps on her grandmother who was in a wheelchair and now she walks. The cool thing is the book is powerful and simple and non denominational and works so easily a child can help heal others as well as us in facilitating the medical field. Its been on the bestsellers list for quite a while. The new copyright has excalibur in the front that was not in the old copyright.  It is the forward of the book now.

I agree, everyone should have this in their library as you never know when it comes in handy.

On the Intro for August, it was a pleasure to read your intros.  I was moved by all of your write ups. Telling spiritual stories to others and just reading them moves me. After being on Gaia for a while kinda stumbling around, this group feels great to read as it covers so many beautiful truths from our lives.  On a spiritual level, this site helps salvage anyone as I have found something for everyone who is seeking truths.

Thank you for starting this satsang, Bhatta. Yes, it's enjoyable to share our 'interesting' experiences! Wondering what to share, this comes to mind:

There was a very small bridge in Singapore - more like a hump on the road; on which I had two interesting experiences. One, was the day after I had seen a documentary of Drunvalo Melchizedek touching upon different subjects that he was going to share at a workshop. Even though the video was badly taped and I didn't 'enjoy' it; I was absolutely blown by finding someone else who was interested in all those 'weird', out of the way things that had always attracted me- and had so much knowledge about them. I felt as if all the fragments of my life came together, reconnected.
While driving on the bridge the next day, I had an infinite moment of the most indescribable …. In one moment, it was as if the entire lifetime was laid out in front of me. Then it emerged into words… unconditional joy, love, ecstasy, thought. “Nothing can ever trouble me now” I felt, “not now that I have felt this.”
And immediately came the feeling -“Now that you've seen the top of the mountain, the climb up will not seem so daunting. But you will have to take that journey.”

Feeling blessed in the sharing….

It is so nice to read about people’s experiences here. FastDart – I will have to read your blog. I have had experiences with butterflies, illustrated a book with my sister in law a few years ago with this same theme in fact. I hope in a way that you do not need to lasso your experience into words… as Chuang Tzu once wrote in the Hua Hu Jing (or perhaps one of his students transcribed for him) once you have pinned a butterfly, you have lost the flying.

Laurie and Kes – how very interesting and amazing. I will have to find the dvd as well. I am not familiar at all with dianetics, but I am definitely curious and would like to learn more…

I guess I would describe my spiritual/ mystic experiences as being varied yet simple. It's hard for me to explain - not because I think that what I have experienced/ do experience is unusual or extraordinary… but because they are not. Labels are a bit of a struggle for me, because they don’t always fit. But then, it doesn't really matter.

Sometimes I see things, meet/ talk with people/ spirits in unconventional ways. The first time this happened, I was four years old. I still remember very clearly exactly how the little girl looked when she ‘appeared’ to me. This did not go over well with my birth mother at the time and I learned quickly to be quiet about them. I don’t believe I am a psychic – instead, just a listener. Sometimes, I am not a very good listener (don't trust myself enough but I am learning), and then things start to ‘happen’ to ensure that I pay attention. Dreams are the most common way for me – the easiest route for communication, but sometimes even books will fall off the shelf, with pointed messages/ connections to get the message across. Synchronicity, synergy – when the universe vibrates along those lines – I feel it deeply and have learned/ am learning to pay attention.

Aside from being a listener – I am a traveller as well - but in a way that time or space doesn't apply to. How to explain this… I have loads of ‘stories’ but the one that comes to mind now is suddenly arriving in a village in India at a ‘wrong’ moment and startling a group of students in a temple. They called their teacher over to see me. All I could do was smile – he smiled and then brought the students to show them that I wasn’t a ghost. We greeted each other, and then I was back, sitting as I had been before.

I don’t look for the how any longer –not even the why most of the time. When it happens, it’s meant to. Those experiences are just part of my every day and some are definitely hard to put into words. :-)

These are such wonderful experiences. I have had many such experiences and agree that you must just go with them and take something from them.
Mine involve the evolving pure souls of aniamals . I have found myself in the middle of a large herd of wild pigs on one of my spiritual outings. Being around wildlife all my life I knew this is not a good place to be. Normally this is not where they want to be.  A most simple calm came over me and I crouched down where I stood. Each mother looked my way and conveyed her acceptance of my presence. I can't say really how they did it except when our eyes met. The baby pigs all ran around me but not real close. The boar came up maybe 8 feet away, we met eye to eye. He could have tore me up but didn't, he simply snorted in a non threatening way and went on about his business. I would never place myself in that position on purpose but that day I knew there is common link between all creatures.
Being diabetic I would go very low at night. My boxer would speak to me in my dreams to tell me to get up. It was almost an angelic voice. Other times she would just push me with her snout. Saved my life more than once.
I raise quail on my farm, I woke up the other night 2 hours after retiring got dressed and went to their pen to find a snake ready to attack, my wife and daughter asked me how I knew . I could only shake my head…..
Sorry if I rambled.

Fromhere - if I could get my hands on your personal energy signature, I would know in a heartbeat.  But since that's not probable … let me ask you this.  What animal, insect, bird or fish have you been seeing on a regular and consistent basis?

For example purposes only:  When you let your dogs out the back door each evening, do you have frogs and/or toads that try to hop in?  Or maybe you have a particular type of bird that is always trying to fly in through your picture window.  Maybe every time you go to get your car out of the garage there are Box Elder bugs all over the door handle …

Let me know … I'll see if I can provide some direction.

I wanted to return to this thread to say how precious it is that there's a sense of sharing and intimacy in our group that this sort of sharing takes place.

I have heard it said that there are certain experiences one should not share with others - that they should be kept to oneself or ones teacher or Guru. Bhattaji and others could you say more about this

HummingBird, I am also looking forward to hearing from others; for me, I'd say, whenever a 'should' comes up, I'm not listening to my own inner guidance. Who is or is not my teacher? If I speak to your inner essence, am I not speaking to the One?

Anna,

Perhaps it is more like, “use caution when sharing such stories” for the “average” mass of humanity is not ready to “hear” them.  Perhaps, that is where the teaching advice comes from.

I know that I share things here at Gaia, I would not share casually in my physical world or other on-line groups.  So, I think we are the exception in this community.  One can speak plainly here; without fear of ridicule and without judgment, even though the “listeners” or readers are not personally familiar with that kind of experience.  There is space allowed to “accept” on face value and agree that one may not personally know the “truth” but that does not mean it is not so.  I am sure there are stories I could tell but I can think of nothing at the moment worth sharing here.  Your stories shared here humble me in their beauty and eloquence.

What I will share, is related to this question of “not sharing”.  I think some have been convinced by others that they are mentally ill; when they tell of such experiences.  This can then become a self-fulfilling “curse”, and cause such confusion and misinterpretation, that mental illness results from a lack of proper guidance.

In my family are intuitively sensitive women.  So, this possibility was in my inner explorations very late last night; for there are questions within me, about the mother from whom my mother was taken by a black market adoption ring that gained much public notoriety.  My youngest sister (who was always intuitive, when I was going through the more challenging experiences of my younger days) is now in a state I've come to think of as being truly Limbo.  Homeless, without means to subsist in a way that indicates a good sense of self-worth.  I understand that word - Limbo - as I never did before.

I believe that one can become trapped between the worlds, when others around them do not understand what has happened to them.  Sometimes the one who has had the experience can not adequately explain it, even to someone who is open enough to hear and try to understand.  I have tried to be that open heart, mind and ear for my sister.  That guide as to what may be true and what may be misinterpreted.  I continue to try and understand, in my understanding, perhaps the hand I hold out for her will be grasped, and clarity will return to her mind and stability to her life.

I will never give up on her.  I would hope there would be someone like me, for me, if I were in her situation.  It is her life and the choices are hers but I can stand witness to what is and what happens and send a small bit of cash from time to time to help nourish her.  If it does not happen that she re-emerges during this lifetime, I will not love her less.

Peace & Blessings -
Deb

Deb, thank you for bringing up the point that when we share, we also need to be aware of the consequences of sharing and use discernment [that word again!] in doing so.
I can sense how you feel about your sister, and know that it is sometimes impossible to be for another as the other may need/want/be aware of .

Deb, I have a sister who wrings my heart! Holding your hand, love.
Meenakshi, I absolutely agree - it isn't about 'shoulds' as imposition

I find there are some things I spontaneously share, other things I share in response to particular circumstances and yet others which feel they aren't to be spoken of. I remember my art teacher and mentor, Bill Ainslie, saying something like, 'don't speak about the painting you're making - you'll leak the energy out. Make the painting.' I feel there's truth in that.

Re: My Spiritual/Mystic Experience

Bhatta said Oct 27, 9:29 AM:

Spiritual experiences are of several different types. Some experiences lead to confusions and questions, some lead to “partial” enlightenment, some are visions, while many are experiences of “super-normal” powers such as levitation, walking without feet touching the ground, thought reading, ability to talk to and understand animals, etc. etc.
Sharing and telling people about the “powers” is a sure sign of downfall and retardation. Confusions and questions could only be cleared by a Master, and so, sharing it in common places might even lead to further mess. The visions are very personal experiences, they mostly vary from person to person.
So, we can see why these experiences should be shared very cautiously.
