Why is it that Jesus is always treated as a has-been, not really up to date for 21'st century living? While the Buddha is still spoken of as a giant to be respected and whose teachings still carry weight.

My first inclining over this point is that Buddhism -especially that of Zen- is adaptable to any culture of climate where it sees fit to manifest itself. It is hard to explain what I feel about this question, but another way I see it, is that if we had ourselves a Christism rather than a Christianity, things might have gone better. The human mind is a funny old thing after all. I have more thoughts on this but I shall not bore you with them all.

Note: My comments may be taken as biased as I am a Zen Buddhist, but I am an integral Zen Buddhist who has never shunned or made light of the teachings of Jesus. They are, after-all, deeply similar and rooted in the same source as the Buddha's. They were simply treated differently by the peoples whom recieved them at the time.

In Spiritual, Integral and Philosophical circles Jesus is hardly mentioned. When he is noticed it is mostly in a glossed over manner, almost as if we know all about him and can safely move on to more interesting subjects. It's funny, the Buddha is treated with much more respect in the same gatherings, even though the participants has as little to do with Buddhism as with Christianity.

Hmm... I wonder why? Why is it that Jesus is always treated as a has-been, not really up to date for 21'st century living? While the Buddha is still spoken of as a giant to be respected and whose teachings still carry weight.

Why, when Jesus is recognized as someone who did something the world never have seen in a short period of 3 and half years, still is sidestepped when intellectuals, spiritual aspirants, integral thinkers come together to try to make sense out of our world and of our lives?

Is it maybe our Western conditioned mind that keeps him at a safe distance? He is too much, too big, too demanding, for our small inquires, for our self serving quests?

It's strange when we consider that we claim to want to know the truth. If that is true there is no reason to avoid Jesus. Face it full on, don't compartmentalize him in a niche in your spiritual bookcase. Dare to meet him fully within his own agenda. Don't make him fit your mold, of what you think makes sense.

Do you not think it is curious to see how even Ken Wilber treats him with a distant interest? Since undeniably Jesus is one of the greatest spiritual lights the world has ever seen. How come the Buddha is invited in but not Jesus, into our nice social Integral, Spiritual club?

I have a sneaky suspicion it might have to do with the simplicity of Jesus message and that he actually carried it out for the salvation of all mankind, reaching all who would dare to believe and understand. Of course, all further exploration of religion and of an integral understanding only confirms and helps in our understanding of Jesus (as it does with our understanding of the Buddha).

Now, we all could do with a little more study in order to take it all in, but in all fairness, the message is clear and simple. Honor truth wherever it arises.

Sacrificial Love, the Christ Light, such a benediction, profound grace, are we worthy??
It is given even so, to be our highest possibility, and yes, it IS being made manifest right here, right now in every moment we let go enough to be truly present with ourselves.

Brought in, also, though the feminine, the conscious Mary Magadalene who heralds the intuitive understanding of the great sacrifice He made..........

Supporting eachother on the path of Truth.

Ever knowing they ARE Love.

Even judas, perfectly, played his role in the mystery of Creation...................conscious understanding of the authentic part we have to play in the divine unfoldment.

Can we let go of ourselves as identified with our physical bodies, in order to SHINE???????

Genesis 1
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.
6 Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” 7 Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day.
9 Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good.
11 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 13 So the evening and the morning were the third day.
14 Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. 16 Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. 17 God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 So the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
20 Then God said, “Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.” 21 So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” 23 So the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
24 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Everything means everything. Breath, life, moment now, to moment now focus. There is no short cut.

Our culture tried to use the short cut of christian Catholic false teachings...ie; Jesus did it for you, so you dont have to work at it, you just confess regularly and let jesus do the rest...my master alaways says...what kind of fun is that? You enter a game, and no one has to play, because the guy who went in front of you already won the game for you? So you stand on the sidelines doing nothing but asking for forgiveness for the harm you've done to those in your life? And of course, if power were still in the prayers of this religion, GREED would have been flushed from our culture, and Judgement and Critizisms, and the pollution of negative mind, would not permeate our culture...so CLEARLY we do not have the power of GOD behind these prayers....

We must NEVER underestimate the power of GOD! CONSIOUNESS IS GOD! THE ELECTRON within the nucleus of an atom, this is the seat of consciousness, and permeates EVERYTHING! WE access this power, through LOVE...and focus it in the form of Mantric missles, that arrive where intent sends them...this, is original prayer with the force of GOD behind it....we need to LEARN what effective spirituality really is, before we go thinking we are experts in ANYTHING AT ALL...nothing is as it seems, and the power of GOD can show up in a little old lady sitting next to you on a bus...and you might not even recognize her...because maybe she smelled a little bad to you, so you didnt even say "Hi".

Jesus has set the bar, to which we can compare ourselves. If we haven’t reached it we can’t but humble ourselves. There is no danger to put the bar too high. He died for us. As long as we value our lives before others we will not accomplish anything. Not until we give our lives as Christ did can we be delivered. That is the law. Nobody can stand this ultimatum, it is too much. But it cannot work in any other way. Anything else will only be a fragment of the whole. To reach all, everybody, forever, you have to give everything.

Om burst forth from the ocean of nothing, sound, rubbing on space... until through the heat of this moving sound of love, this Omming sound of the mothers authetic desire for existence...rubbing on the emptiness of space
light ignited, and our existence within love was born.

Omkar...the word of God.

In the beginning was the word,
without this word, nothing is created.

The very first orgasm of divine consciousness...
in the beginning, there was only this moment.
a desire for more love to exist.
