Brian, you are so right!! It is taught in Judaism that the highest form of observance to God is the way we treat our spouse. The way we treat our spouse is the same way we treat God, because we are respecting God and HiS Creation! Anyone that claims to be pious and doesn't treat their spouse with love and care, adding, sharing, doing for and with, giving, is not serving God at all….. Further, it is taught that along with the concept of Kavod Ha Briah, meaning, honor for the creation, it is also taught that the highest form of kedusha….holiness is the love and intimacy between husband and wife, this is where the love of God is made manifest… In Judaism the word for love is ahavah. The root of ahavah is hav. Hav means to give….to love is to give and to give is to love…and to the degree that we love is to the degree that we give…and the more we give to that other, the more of us that is in that other, is the more we love that significant other…

I am happy to find someone that has his head on straight…

blessing to you…and mazal tov on your marriage!!
