Now I Can See the Moon

Masahide wrote the following haiku:

“Barn's burnt down … Now I can see the moon”. Can you see the moon?

It may seem simplistic, but I feel the sacred in every moment, in every step, in every blink of the eye. Existence is sacred, and I cherish it.

In pure and undefiled creation - nature, silence, truth, beauty, peace.  In song- joyful, heartfelt singing brings such true and undefiled joy to the heart, and can spread a fire of joy.  The divine is fire.  The divine is spirit.  The divine is pure white none less than the white of a flower, the lily.  The divine is highest mountain, deepest sea, snow & rain & lightning & sun.  The divine is sunshine, I often see the sun's energy as the ultimate divine, burning and untouchable, radiating.  I can be a sun worshipper.  I worship the waters- Humankind cannot live without sun or water.  The divine is in the unknown and in the untouchable.  I love the sacred Divine, all which is good and true and right.  Peace.  I wish I could live a contemplative life.  I'd like to take a pilgrimage.  I'd  like to spend time in silence with God.

Everyday I look around and see beautiful things that make me recognise the sacred in my life;
The sea in all weathers,
immersing myself in the ocean,
sunny days, rainy days,
naked trees in winter showing the tracery of their branches,
breathing in winter and it comes out in a cloud,
driving in beautiful countryside, trees dappling,
old people, young people, children, babies, dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, in fact all animals, fish,
crabs in rockpools, sand between my toes, wind in my hair,
dolphins riding waves, whales breaching, sharks,
flowers, plants,
creativity, painting, dancing, singing.
sunset, sunrise, the moon, eclipses,
fresh clean air, sea air, mountain air,
the smell of eucalypt or pine trees on a hot day,
the desert with red earth, yellow earth, blue blue sky, spinifex,
lizards on a rock, goannas up a tree, snakes curled up ready to strike or flee,
family.
Birth and death.

kathy
you sound like family in this writing…
i'd like to take it and pass it on with your permission…

:)

when i can see me in another
conforming to it as water conforms to the moon
i see the sacred

when i catch moments where time and space do not exist
when i speak, am silent, or laugh
from my belly
i feel the sacred in me…
