Now I Can See the Moon

Masahide wrote the following haiku:

“Barn's burnt down … Now I can see the moon”. Can you see the moon?

We want a life of clarity, freedom, happiness, and deep meaning. We get there step by step by becoming our own person, deeply trusting our own intuition and responses, and...(more)

Unfolding

Silent Temple said Jan 12, 1:20 AM:

Unfolding

In the end, it is an unfolding.

In Buddhism, they say the lotus grows by the wayside. This is probably because it is not interfered with there.

In large families, the most well adjusted kids are usually the youngest. Not interfered with. Parents too tired to screw the youngest up.

So, what I am saying is, we need to leave others alone to grow, develop, and discover on their own in their own time. We nurture them but do not try to bend them. We allow others to be what they be, and we delight in that because the lotus grows by the wayside.

Drinking tea, eating rice,

I pass my time as it comes;

Looking down at the stream,

Looking up at the mountain,

How serene and relaxed

I feel Indeed!

there is a photo in my gallery called coming and going…
i think this is true of how we should relate and allow others to relate to us…

it is when we try to hold on to others
suffocating their growth with our needs and wants
that we kill their joy, in little ways…
and this world can be joyless without anyone's help…
so in the process of leaving others alone
we can simply be available
when they need support
or simply your smile and hug.

i am the youngest of three and the only female
i don't know how adjusted i am
but i think my parents did a good job in honoring the difference in us all
and so with that in mind…
and your words

you must come and go
so that they can grow…

Hi openarms,

A beautiful read.  Can we get the URL to your gallery or is the picture of “coming and going” in your photos?

Thanks,
~kes

it is in my profile and my avator now.

the lotus in full bloom is an inspiration, i see its deeper meaning.

i have a friend who is the oldest and most sought after child in his family. the stress i see him going through is sad. i wonder, how do you support someone who is so obviously broken without infringing on their growth?

for me, it is simple to leave others alone and i do…
but sometimes
you come across someone and you can see that they need
and you just want to help…

Unfolding…
I am.
My body, finds health.
My environment is peace.
My family, love.
Hope is the engine of my life.
God is realized for me in you.
Our existence, is a blessing.
Mine is a Mystical.Magical.One.
WE are realized.Sacred.
I am love.As are we all.

I wanted to say hello.  :)  thank you for the invitation.  I'm sorry it was so long before my reply.  You are a beautiful group.  I'll be quietly reading.  Many blessings and my gratitude.
Susan.
