I have tried over the past few years to eat healthier. I use whole wheat whenever available as well as fruits and vegatables. I minimize the amount of sugary, fatty, greasy, high cholesterol, processed food that I put into my body and that of my children. I have found that fresh vegatables provide more than enough flavor to foods without...(more) the use of lots of salt or dried seasonings. Herbs are wonderful and provide plenty of flavor especially when used fresh from a garden. Eating healthy is a little more costly, monetarily speaking, than not. But the cost of not eating healthy is much more expensive in the long run if it cost you your life. Check out your local health food stores, organic grocers or most larger grocery stores have a health section on a dry food isle as well as in the produce area.
I have come across some incredible recipes and would like to share them with all of the lovers of food and cooking on here. Please feel free to add recipes, share recipes with friends and family or add your review of what you cooked. If you find a bottle of wine that goes well, share that. If you find more than one thing that you feel would compliment something else to create a great meal, share that. All things are possible when you meet a healthy mind, with a healthy body, with a healthy soul.
Dave Matthews, an amazing artist and one of my most treasured musical talents, has an organic farm in Virginia. He grows organic food and distributes it to vegatable stands, local restuarants, and grocers. To create something that can provide others with a better life, from the inside out, while at the same time preserving our most valuable resource, land, and using it for its full potential is quite heroic in my eyes.
Being that I am a lover of nature and all things that are natural, and even more so a lover of excellent food, it seemed only fitting that I start a pod on a combination of both. I hope that you find this pod inspiring for a better lifestyle.
Eat, Drink and Be Merry,
Lisa
