Alpbach 25 years on

afonfarch said Dec 3, 2007, 3:39 AM:

In 1983 I attended my very first “mystics and scientists” event. A conference held in the atttractive Austrian alpine village of Alpbach.

The conference was Andere Wirklichkeiten (Other Realities) (though most of the presentations were in English)

The speaker list was inpressive and included the Dalai Lama , Fritzjof Capra, David Bohm, Rupert Sheldrake and many others.

Since then I have been to some of the Wrekin Trust/Scientific and Medical Network events, read voraciously on related topics, and  have a desire to study formally Transpersonal Psychology, though my first degree is in Physics

I'd very much like to do something to mark  the 25th anniversary next summer. As far as Ii can tell with online research , the conference proceedings were only published in German,
and I was wondering whether an english translation was ever published, or  if  it would be possible to produce an english translation for the anniversary together with letters or essays from the speakers who are still with us, and/or contemporary experts looking back at the progress over 25 years and perhaps looking ahead to the future.

This is very much a hope and a dream rather than a firm project at the moment. I'm intrested to see how any shoots have grown since those seeds sown in mountain air and hope, all those years ago.

Any feedback on this history will be gratefully recieved

Sounds amazing, I've often wished to part take in such an event or liste/speak amongst a similar gathering of individuals in perhaps a more private setting …. It's a lot to ask ;) Unfortunately I don't have the information you're looking for.
