we have dog vomit slime. that is it's official name on the web. it has a three day life cycle. the 1st day it is bright bright yellow and very viscous. if you put an indentation in the surface it fills it in in about an hour. the 2nd day it turns splotchy brown like a well cooked pancake and the 3rd day the brown turns to black spores.
i am not including pics.

In contrast I came down stairs to the smell of fragrant air, the kitchen window had been left open all night, not too clever on a security note, but the air in the house was wonderful, cool and fresh…

beloveds,
Just to be clear, this is a slime mold that is out my front porch and it is Ferrari yellow in color with no other bits in it. So a pic of it would have been quite pretty. It is in it black stage now.
It is most amazing. It just has a disgusting name. Amazing like the honey in NZ? Australia? that is made by bees getting their energy from tea trees. Studies now show that the honey can kill any superbug. Did not see any studies on my slime.

With you both on a love of honey- and bees- as long as they don't sting me!

Today being the first day of the School Holiday's in Queensland -it is
a lot quieter from my front porch!
No chattering by from the students who attend the 3 local Schools around me,
which I miss -
but I don't miss the endless traffic and poor driving skills of many of the parents
parking and passing by from those that won't allow their children to walk
anymore!
No wonder their are so many obese children in the world -if the parents
don't like letting their children walk to School anymore -why don't they
at least walk with them ?

Re: From my front porch 5

Taikunping said Jun 28, 9:56 PM:

Hi Sandy, I always wondered why the parents took the children in cars every day, so much pollution!  and unfortuately the people walking had to inhale it….I did however drop my son off two days a week as I worked in a playgroup and I wouldn't have had the time to walk him to school and then go there…

I've been stung by a wasp but never a bee, take care…

Hello -yes thats the main reason (here anyways) why parents are more likely
to drive their children to School, these days.
Not just for a now and then reason or a special treat- but because they
are afraid that something will happen to them.
It is a sad sign of the times, which has of course created another set of problems, obesity, pollution and traffic congestion.

I know some parents are unable to walk with them -and it seems to me it
would be a good idea if their were neighbourhood “school walker's” !
Just like car pooling -in a way -lol-but it would help solve the problem
-I think so, anyway!

In reply Tai -have you NEVER been stung  by a bee??

Re: From my front porch 5

Taikunping said Jul 1, 1:36 AM:

No, not by a bee - love bees, maybe I should love wasps more, they make really lovely homes for their young, very creative they are.  Have you ever heard a wasp harvesting wood pulp - its amazing.  I sit on the seat by our pond in the summer and they scrape off the top layer of wood, they do the same on the fence and they love rasping on bamboo canes too!
They did a scheme at my son's old school (after he had left) mum volunteers to walk children to school - think they did it on a rota basis…don't know if they still do it..

Oooohh, Vinegar is a lovely cat, Tai!
Reminds me a bit of what my Spooky was like before she took ill and
passed away from old age.
Reminds me too of how much I miss having a cat around the home.
But- I have made the choice not to get another because I always have to
try and find someone to look after them when I visit my family.
Perhaps one day though, I shall give into that feeling!
Here in Queensland, the law has just come in that you have to register
to have a cat -the same as with a dog.
Costs about $20 or more per year, I think?
Seems strange - but i guess one of the reason's is to try and keep the
population down, on account of there being so many poor abandoned
little kittens.

I have also been busy “taking it out on the streets” joining in actions

Well , just had a a nice cup of coffee, out on my front porch!
While sitting there, I realised that I actually do a lot of my thinking,
when out there on my little wooden chair!

I thought I was just observing life go by - and enjoying the view of my
garden, but found I am also deep in thought ~

And just maybe, a little part of me sits there in the hope that I will
be suprised with a visit from a loved one!
Considering they all live so far away, it is hard for them to give me a
suprise visit!
Or, there could be a “drop in ” from an old friend or two -which
would also be lovely -but I guess these things don't happen when
you are expecting/hoping they will -
they come completely ” out of the blue” !!

Well -here I am -back at my own front porch again-
after visiting my family and sharing their front porches!!!
They are so very special and of course even more special to share
the company, while sitting there.
MY eldest daughter has a simply wonderful front porch -it is on a
high set house and the the view over the local park is lovely.
The birds that sing sound so much more joyful -but then I guess
they are, in the tropics.
We shared many a coffee and chat while I was there and I have come
home to find mine so very little -and falling down!
One of the steps caved in while I was away and has to be re-placed,
so at present we are walking up a plank -and hoping any visitors don;t
slip and hurt themselves!!
My youngest daughter has a beautiful big back porch, surrounded by
palm trees around a spa -my longing to be back there is very strong-
but guess I will have to be content with my own proch and view-
for now at least!!
Funny how we tend to gather in those special places-
I would love to hear from other members, sharing theirs?

Any how we prefer the beach for this purpose. We face the Indian ocean and always ships moving.
I feel the peace and politics will never go together. Politics looks forward to expand in everything like land, money, power, etc. it means peace cannot be aligned with these.Philosophy too same. Socrates, Plato and others never indulged in politics. They just stayed away from it. Mahathma Gandhi was shot at last. Same thing happened to Abraham Lincoln and JFKennedy. They all struggled for peace but the politics never allows it.
