Oh gee its' cold this morning -my little fingers are frozen trying to type!!
We are however expecting a high of 22 deg, so I guess the day will warm up.

Sunny in England, been outside taking some photos, the grass is damp from rain in the night, quite warm today, just hoping it keeps that way to dry the washing!

weather back-sliding - more rain and cold yesterday, got up early as usual, then went to bed again with a bowl of porridge and a hot drink, just to get warm!
Dull start to the day again, sun just about breaking through, noticing darker nights now in England - just wouldn't think it is August, feels more like October!

Hi friends, here's the wheather report from the Lowlands…and the news is good.
Actually we've had quite a nice week, pleasant temps but a little changeable, showers as well as sunshine. We're a small country but it differs noticable from area to area. The south east has had a lot more rain than we (north west) did.
Last night and this morning we had some rain but that's good because we're looking at next week, dry, sunny and high temps. So the earth really needs the water.

Guess it must seem a little boring -with the same old forecast!!
Yes, 23 deg today -with a low of 9 expected -though the temperature
does fluctuate during the day due to increasing in the wind and cloud
cover.
This week see the start of our EKKA -which is a big exhibition and show
lasting all week and it is the week where we traditionally have gusty winds.
We all say when the wind picks up -well -the Ekka is coming!
This year, pigs have been banned from the animal arena-due to the
possiblity of THEM catching swine flu off humans!!

Sunny yesterday, dull start today, maybe it will pick up!  Had a couple of warm wet nights here…the apples are really filling out and so are the runner beans, the roses aren't enjoying all the wet weather, they need some sunshine please!

Nights are still warm and humid, yesterday was sunny, so I sat outside peeling apples, the wasps loved me, all those nice peelings and juicy red apples, there were hoardes of them flying around me and landing on those apples, was then glad to get inside and make the crumble!

Here too very warm and sunny  days  28-30 C (82-86 F.) and the nights are pleasant. But we're gonna get a few showers here and there tomorrow and the temps will drop a bit. I dont mind that because I dont function well when its too hot and humid. I kind of like it best around 24 degrees Celcius (mid seventees).

Tai, I find it hard to sit outside around food these days because of the wasps. I got stung the other night, first time in my life, I wasn't quite sure first what it was but I was told wasps are in blueberrie bushes a lot, and since i was picking blueberries under a gorgeous full moon at twilight, i guess that must have been it.
It was NOT fun. OUCH. There is a lot of them around here this year in contrary to last year.

Hi Alluvja - I've noticed more wasps too this year, they are so attracted to my apple trees - I'd left the peelings on the table yesterday because the wasps were on them and went out this afternoon to remove them, no way!  the pile of peelings contained so many wasps I wasn't going near it, I saw more wasps than peelings!
Hope the sting isn't too painful, I stepped on one once when I was young and had to pull out the sting…my son got stung when he was little while at the beach, I used an ice lolly over the sting and it seemed to take out the pain!

after a few days of beautiful sunshine, it rained in the night here, it's about 74 F today, dull and damp - not worn a cardigan in a few days but felt cool this morning..
The wasps will probably calm down today!

I just flew all the way to Townsville for the weekend. Weather was perfect. My daughters godmother had a 50th birthday. We havent seen her since she moved up there over 4 years ago. We surprised her. she didnt know we were coming. It was fantastic.

Hi Tai, can I have an apple please they look so yummy. Like I could just reach in and grab one and take to work. No wonder the wasps like them. What sort are they?

We use ice cubes for when we get stung by blue bottles on the beach. The life savers keep the ice for when people get stung and put it on in a plastic bag.

This morning I got up early and went to the beach to photograph the sun coming up to go with Tais poem. I got cold and my slippers got damp (I know I shouldnt have worn them to the beach) and the sun refused to come up on cue so I came home. Here is a pre dawn photo looking across the lagoon.

The weather was nippy, but still and calm.

The apples are called Discovery, they have a pink tinge to their flesh, very sweet and juicy, great for eating and cooking!

I've done things like that, chasing sunsets in my houseshoes in freezing weather, no gloves, just following the ever changing colours…

Well I just love that photo with the little red plane in it Jenny,
though I think it may be a little small for a trip to England!!!
It sure would be lovely though, if we could take a trip together
to meet Tai, over there!

All the photo's are lovely (gee I MUST put some up too!)-
and glad the wasps aren't eating THOSE lovely apples Tai.

It is a little overcast here today -though it is still early -7.07am
at time of writing.
We are going for 25 deg today though -so should be a nice one-

Sunny start here 9.27am, could be showery they say, the weather is so changeable at present, sunny yesterday then went dull in afternoon, temp low 20's usually here
around 70/72F

been making loads of apple crumbles, I will look in the hedgerows for blackberries, they go real well with the apples…great crop last year!

Beautiful photo Sandy. Is that Nobby's Head or Beach or whatever? If you look at mine higher you may see a slight similarity. That was taken before sunrise at Avoca Beach about an hour and a half drive south of where your photo was taken Sandy.

Today was lovely and a bit warmer and smelling a bit like summer. I'm on holidays from work so got to spend some time in this lovely weather.

Winter heatwave!!!

In Brisbane, we are in the midst of what is being called a “winter heatwave”-
although of course, it is almost spring-
Saturday and Sunday we had 30 deg and today we are going for 33 deg!!!!
Although it is very warm -it isn't as bad as when we have these temps in the
Summer, as there the humidity is very low.
Certainly giving us a taste of summer though -and very strange to go from
Electric blankets to fans!!!

Yes Jenny, I think it was Nobby's Beach and I can see the similarity-
being so close to your home -and thankyou for the video!

Glad you at least have T Shirt weather Tai -even if indoors!

The weather here is so changeable!! hot nights, then showery, bit windy, sunny - all cloudy and dull today - ah well, I have a pile of ironing after 2 loads of washing yesterday - my indoor line was groaning with the weight of yesterdays washing after a short sharp shower, a mad dash outside - a cup of tea was well deserved…

It's been such  a wonderful summer in the lowlands. Yes we had some rainstorms and some real hot days but in general it was great. Today was hot but gorgeous ending with some rain mainly in the south and not much where I live. Tomorrow a bit cooler but still with pleasant sunny temps in the west where I live, but some rain in the east.

Today we have been sitting on 29 deg while we wait for the promised rain.
But WILL it happen -the cloud formations are there , but it seems as allusive
as ever.
Perhpas we will be blessed with an over-night shower -as our land is
becomming parched again.

drumming rocked last night!  there were a few more people so the energy was awesome!  - we really went for it on speed and loudness…
Had thunder yesterday afternoon and steady rain into the evening.  Sunny this morning, into my long-sleeved tee shirt today and gave my hair a blow-dry, bit cool to leave it to dry naturally…

We had some last night -but not the promised thunderstorm!!
