Global Nuclear Disarmament

I became aware of Global Zero when the first press announcements came earlier this year, and they have created a working plan to actually bring about the reality of global nuclear disarmament. 

My first thought/question is … starting from here, how do we get there?

As West and East meets over this week, I thought it should be just as easy as saying … “yeah, let's do it.”  And then, both Russia and the US actually just disarm.  But its not that easy because of issues of trust – why?

Where and why did our trust get breached?  We know now, that most of the distrust that was bred was force fed with propaganda and lies … why can't we just trust once again and “start over” with the knowledge of what was done in the past that was so wrong and created the mistrust in the first place?

Why do we make this so difficult?  And, since it is this difficult, what can we do to make it simpler? 

I know, I know … increase awareness and education – but, how to spark the interest in the common man to do that – get educated, increase their awareness?

Hmmmmmm ….
