Time frame of Real Life Road Trip

martha said Mar 27, 2008, 10:22 PM:

Peri and Sprite and I have been discussing the possiblity of a trip where we would all converge on the Portland Oregon area this summer.

The time window, for me at least, starts on July 25th and ends on August 15th.  Peri and Sprite have time available somewhere in that window.

Sprite will be in Germany, and then might come to Portland as she comes back stateside.

Is there a Shakespeare festival in Portland during that time?  Anything else that might be fun that we could do?  What are your thoughts?

I will make time to come “south” during that time! I am teaching two lit classes, but they end in July I think…either way, I can certainly come on a weekend anyway…in the RV!

Oh goody! I'll start searching for fun things for us to do! We have to go to the coast! I just got back this morning and of course was thinking about all of you while walking on the beach this morning.

I don't know about Shakespeare in Portland at that time … maybe Ashland - where Winnie lives. That would be fun!

I hope to have a set of “newer” wheels by that time!

Awesome Aley that you will bring the camper! Maybe we should rent a big house at the coast … somewhere central so that Winnie can join us. Also, Katherine Estelle Morningstar and Amber are in Oregon.

Paul can you join us???? Red Rover, Red Rover, Let PAULIE come over!

Hi Everyone - Did you miss me?  Gosh, I have a lot of catching up to do.  I just haven't felt like playing in awhile - but feeling more cheerful now.  This is a great idea.  Brad will be at work during that time so that means I'll have the kids and probably won't be able to join in - but hey - you never know!  I'm certainly not going to say I can't yet - things change - and I would so love to be a part of it!  Paul, I'll probably be in Phoenix the second week of July - maybe we can meet up!

Ashland too … I have to confess, I've never been there!

Since we all love to play, might I suggest organizing our own gypsy camp for Faerieworlds Festival just outside of Eugene the weekend of August 1-3?  This is such an amazing experience…dancing, drumming, eating, playing, dressing up…stuff we all love and are extremely good at.  You can check out Faerieworlds here.

The only deal is, we'd probably have to get on this fairly soon to buy tickets (the whole weekend is $50, but we could just go for a day as well for much less.  What do you think?

Hi Lisa, I think perhaps we are all waiting on each other?

So far the following people have expressed an interest in the road trip in Oregon:

Mamakat

buddingspritelet

Peridot

martha

Enlightened.thinker

Peace Eagle

Morningstar

And Me too Me too!

Others not part of this Pod/string that have expressed an interest or live near by

Amber

Dryad

The suggested time frame is currently the first week in August 8/1 - ??

Mamakat suggested this music festival (You can check out Faerieworlds here.

) near Eugene August 1 – 3 as a possible first stop on this journey. Some of us thought the music fest and camping near by would be sweet. Option B for those not up to sleeping in the dirt, under the stars, by a camp fire “Kumbaya my lord…”, the sleeping Sprite’s hand in warm water at 3AM(anyone have an extra sleeping bag) kind of experience could opt for a nearby hotel/motel. There are some suggestions via the Faerieworlds link above.

For camping:

The University of Oregon in Eugene has camping supply rentals available.

So since I have put my left brain/right foot in (OMG this is scary, Douglass being managerial!) and since I am planning (a little soft at this point in terms of details) to attend this music fest/camping free for all leg of the actual flesh and blood and morning breath road trip, I’ll do some of the organizing.

So who is definitely in for the fest Aug 1 – 3, got your card ready clicking on the Buy Tickets for the weekend kind of committed to coming?

So here’s the thing the campgrounds nearby are going to fill up fast, in fact  Richardson Park is already booked so if we are going to camp then we need to commit soon.

If ya wanna camp then let me know before June 1st and I’ll take on the task of finding the camp grounds otherwise jump on your fav cheapy/seedy hotel finder. “Oh look, they have the Blue Velvet Bar right next to this motel, honey. I’ll bet that’s nice?”

I think the dates and the plan sound great.  Count me in!  Just one question….Are some of the people going experienced campers?

I really like the idea of camping because I know how beautiful Oregon is…but….and I'm slightly embarrassed to admit this–I don't really know how to camp! I adore nature and would rather be outside than indoors, but….I don't know how to set up a tent.

I'd be willing to try…in fact, I like the idea….I could rent or buy some equipment, etc…..but then I might need some help from someone. Once I learn, of course, I might be OK.

Also, how would transportation be handled? Would there be several cars (driven by those who live nearby) and other people, like myself, chip in for gas? Or would there need to be some other arrangement made?  I'm quite sure I'd be flying into Portland…

Let me know…thanks!

Hi Sprite,
I bought a laptop with a wifi capability and a wireless connection to the internet.  What I suggest is for you to go to the store of your cellular phone provider and ask for a fast “aircard' that they have.  Ask what kind of laptops you can buy with the kind of aircards that your cellular provider have.  Then shop for those laptop and get the midrange to the topline.  I suggest to get a fast laptop, with lots of memory and a huge RAM, random access memory, this enable you to work on a lot of stuff at once, meaning having several programs open at once.  Aside from asking the store representative and getting ideas, then go online and search and do your own comparisons and research.  I am sure you already have your own cell phone provider, so if you ask them what kind of aircards they have then your internet connection will be cheaper with your cell phone payment.  Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions and I will try to answer them to the best of my limited abilities.  thank you,

Mamakat also has mentioned the faery festival that I would so dearly like to attend, where exactly that is, not sure.  Guess I'd better reread our roadtrip!  I think we're heading for the coast as well.

This is going to be a really cooooooollll trip.  We could have HUNDREDS show up!

Peri and all,

I'm with you on the crowd issue…just thought the music, dancing, and dress up would be fun.  Last year's festival was a blast.  So…what if we combined the two ideas somehow?  Three days of faery is even a little too intense for me and I am so NOT a camper!

Beach house…day trip to Faerieworlds…winery tour or tours?

Cabin in the Gorge…day trip to beach…day tour of Portland?

Home base in Portland…day trip to Salem…day trip to beach?

The possibilities are endless!  Maia and I will be going to Faerieworlds on Saturday the 2nd if anybody else is interested in that event.  And I am available as a tour guide in Salem or surrounding areas just about any time.  Also willing to research beach rentals/cabin rentals, etc. if I know when and for how many.

Can hardly wait to see you…wherever!

I like all of the alternative ideas I'm seeing here. I love the idea of the beach house especially! Cabin in the mountains could be nice, too.

I agree with Peri, etc. that the Faerie event might not be the place for all of us to get to know each other….maybe just a day there (if it's the type of fest that allows that)…or maybe just keep it open (those who want to go…go)? We could be at the base (wherever that is) and those who want some of the other activities could go for it….and those who just want to chill can.

Since I'm not from Oregon, I'm not sure how far everything is. How far is it from Eugene to Portland?  Portland to a good beach? Portland to Faerie event?

Anyway, speaking for myself here, I'm interested in:

–getting to know you guys
–hanging out somewhere that's beautiful (for a good portion of the time)
–checking out some city/town action (Portland?) at some point
–seeing what Oregon is really like….

Something like that.  :)

I will probably allow several days before and/or after the group trip to see other things, too….interested in Eugene (because of cool folks I've met from there) and Bend (Gaia friend located there….and I hear it's got the ideal weather or something?).

Thx.

hi kat … and all ….

here is the link to the faeriefest … that MANY OF US are still VERY interested in attending … but perhaps for just a day  http://www.faerieworlds.com/news.html

It sounds like You, kat are going to be attending it - could you post the date that you're going to be going again -?? thanks!!!

HERE are some questions to ask of everyone:

1. what dates could we all congregate at the oregon coast - with the understanding that some of you may have other plans on either end of this gathering.

(Doug says he'll be in Oregon the first weekend of August … (time of the faeryfest). I too would be available to gather with folks that first weekend.)

2. If we all joined forces/$$$ and rented a BIG BEACH HOUSE and/or reserved rooms at a bunch of cabins/cottages somewhere along the coast - opposite of Eugene, OR where the faeryfest is taking place - how much per night could folks afford to spend? I suspect if we rented a big beach house - it would be cheaper … and Aley could pull her big old camper into the driveway …

3. what kinds of things do you want to do when we all get together …
(reminder that folks can do a variation of side-trips with each other and/or other folks/family) … I am thinking … of course, that we would eat, drink - be merry! music, ART, meditation, walks on the beach, explore the area, story-telling, some facilitated conversations/discussions and some wild crazy music/dancing … ??? So … we need to discuss food/drinks…
- maybe we could have a few folks volunteer to take care of different jobs such as lodging, food/drink, activities … just a thought.

I think we will be spending a combination of joined times … and then respect that we'll all need time for ourselves … throughout our “joined time” …

and any other questions I thought I had … just all went bye-bye … (tired again tonight!!!) and I'll ask tomorrow!!!

please either answer here and/or send me an email …

Hi you guys!  Sorry for being absent for awhile.  Yes!  I do still want to meet you wonderful people this summer and can come the first week of August.  Maybe somebody closer to the target area could scope out a couple of alternative places and price ranges.  I just got back from a nice little trip to Prescott, AZ, and four of us stayed in a double room in an historic B&B.  It was so cute!  And it went for $150/night, but add tax and then divide by four and it came out to $49 each per night, total.  With numbers there is cheapness.   On the other hand, well, please don't tell anyone this, but we aren't as young as we used to be, and sleeping on the lvining room floor isn't an option I'd go for.  I'd want at least a bed or half a double bed.  Queen or King for doubling up is better, of course.  Anyway, my thinking is what you guys were saying about beach house + Aley's camper.  And we could go to the local grocery store and make a cooking schedule, and each contribute our culinary talents and grocery bucks.  I bet that we can make some SUPER meals to share together.  And I'd like to do a fire in a firepit on the beach at least one evening after dinner.  We could have so much fun going to places together in smaller groups and getting to know one another and asking each other, “Why are we doing this?” and many other questions…

I too would like to keep the expense of the shared place to be around $50/person … of course food/drink other expenses would be additional.

Dear Everyone -

My brain as been AWOL - it hasn't come back, but I'll try to muddle here without it. I had no idea that you were going so quickly here!  The Shakespeare Festival will be in full swing with most of the shows still on at this time. There is a possibility of getting tickets for greatly reduced prices (8$ rather than $60) the hitch is that we don't know until the day of if it is going to happen - as it has to do with prior sales. If we hit a good time we could see three shows for $24, but there isn't anyway to know.

I have to be in Utah the last part of July - I'll check out the dates today. I will be here through all of August. I'm going to have trouble driving all the way to Portland, unless I bring someone with me. If Katherine, Kat or Amber are going I could possibly get to Eugene or Springfield and come the rest of the way with them.

If you want to hit Ashland - we have one extra bedroom plus two big rooms if you wanted to do “Slumber Party” and a big back yard for “camping” Plus parking room for RV's there are also fantastically beautiful camping in the mountains very close - including Shasta which is only a couple of hours away.

I just skimmed this whole thing (and now I can't see anything but the first entry - that is kind of lame, Gaia!)  How are you planning to stay out at the coast? Getting motels or camping? I can't camp, but could no doubt find somewhere nearby to scuttle off to after campfires. My back is such that I just can't sleep anywhere except in a bed.

I'm going to post this and go back and look a little more closely.

D.

OK - I read a little closer, but probably not everything. I think that by far the best idea for the beach area is renting a house. There are a lot out there - my girls go every year. They are expensive if it is family of four, but for a lot of people it isn't bad at all. Again, I can't camp, but will work around whatever you are doing.

Also … I would ADORE!!! to go to the Fairy Fare. I have always wanted to go and have never made it.

I guess that (almost) catches me up. I'll check my Utah dates today.

It sounds Mega fun!

At the moment, I am probably available to tour guide or transport or carpool or just generally hang out during most of the time frame Peri has mentioned, but if I actually find gainful employment between now and August, that may restrict me to the weekend.

I am totally up for  beach picnics…shared culinary adventures…campfires under the stars…kite flying…sightseeing in Portland, Salem, or the Gorge…tramping the dunes…winery tours…ghost hunting in the Shanghai Tunnels…poetry readings…Powell's prowls…garden touring…and just generally celebrating our ability to actually get together and PLAY!

Let me know if you need me to do anything!!!

Hi all!

I am planning on arriving in Florence OR Friday 8/1 sometime late afternoon. Saturday I would love to go to the fairly festival and Sunday just kind of hang out by the beach doing whatever comes to mind. I’ll need to get back to California Monday as Oregon has a restriction on how many days a Californian can stay.
Just kidding!

I’m not sure about finding one huge house that’ll sleep 10, 12, 20 people. Many house rentals say they’ll sleep 6-8 in a 2 to 3 bedroom house. Of course that assumes those queen beds are fully occupied, couches folded out ect. I’m not sure how others feel about bunking up but
personally I think I’ll op for either a comfy couch or a bed to myself. I just can’t see subjecting anyone to my snoring and sheet stealing. Anyway I’m suggesting that we may need more then a single house for our group.

Anyhoo here is one house that I thought might be good for a start.

We need to see a show of hands my friends!

Please indicate if you want to stay in the house(s) and what nights you want to be there.

This is what I am gleaning:
Doug, me, Lisa, Sprite, Martha for the weekend of August 1st (1st, 2nd, 3rd … possibly the 4th too? except for Doug)

Mamakat, Amber, Maia for Saturday night only … needing to leave on Sunday. Right? Please correct me if I'm wrong!

Winnie ???? you need to let us know how many nights …

That's 9 people so far.

It sounds like we all would prefer to sleep in a bed! Yes! Snoring … optional - let's all bring ear-plugs!!!

It sounds like everyone wants to go to the Faeryfest on Saturday … Kat should we get our tickets in advance?

Other plans can be made on either side or this main gathering…. for sight-seeing - we just need to know the number of people/dates for the beach gathering. Okey-dokey?

Is this really going to happen???
:))

Julia … let us know as soon as you figure out your plans!

Here is a second house near the first one I posted that is also available. Between the five of us it would cost us 80 per night between us. If it's only the five of us they we can spread out between the two houses. If other's later say “YEAH I'm coming”, then the expenses go down and we're a little cozier.

Oh Yeah!!!  I am SO IN for Friday August 1 - Monday, August 4.  The glass house is superb, and the other cottage is adorable!  Only thing is, if we are in the glass house, we've gotta remember not to throw stones.

(ok, somebody had to try that one! :)

But anyway, Yeah!  Absolutely!  aaaaaand if for some reason I break my leg and can't get there, which is impossible, but IF, I'll send you a check for my share of the rent.  How easy is that?  :)

Thanking you for doing the hard work,

Peri, you are correct in that Maia and I can stay over Saturday night  (Aug. 2) only.  There is some slight possibility that daughter Robyn will decide to come too and I am also trying to figure out if I can get my sister Jami up here that weekend as well (although it's kind of a long shot at this point.)  So two definitely; one maybe; and one more by the grace of God.  I'm sure that's completely helpful.  NOT.

Maia and I have already purchased our tickets for the Faerieworlds Festival for Saturday, Aug. 2.  Yes, you should probably buy tickets in advance and you may do so on the Faerieworlds website.  The gates open Saturday at noon and the festivities run until night, although I don't want an hour's drive to Florence in the dark, so will be leaving for the beach before sundown…five-ish.

Many thanks to Doug for scouting out a lovely rendezvous point on the beach!  Keep us posted on the cost, please.  That may affect how many (and if) we can afford to stay over.

Love you guys.

Hey, everyone!  The glass house looks really cool. I'm up for it and would be fine with the price (that was $80 per person, right?). It looks kind of luxurious to me (I usually do low-budget travel), so the price seems fair. :)

I'd like to come to Oregon several days before (not sure what I want to do at that point…depends on whether I'm coming up from CA or not)…and would definitely want to stay for a while after. If anyone wanted to hang out before or after the glass house experience, let me know. I'd be into hiking, checking out Eugene, maybe a few days in Portland, etc. I believe someone mentioned Ashland….could be nice, too.

So, Doug–should we be sending you checks soon? Let me know and I'll get my “check in the mail.”  :)

Below  is an image of a spreadsheet detailing what we can expect in terms of the cost per person based on what I know now. I'll update this as new information comes in.  What I'd like to accomplish is to have a bed available for each person so no one has to see your bed head first thing in the morning! And I'd like to keep the cost per night per person below $80. What I have below is kind of worse case senario where we are renting two houses because we are one bed short with just one house. I'm bringing an air mattress and sleeping bag just in case I get kicked out of a bed.
This is way preliminary, draft with a capitla D.

Sorry about the delay in responding to this Peridot, Doug, and friends! I'm in for three nights and count in Judi, my mother, for the same! I think I'm reading that list of days correctly in assuming that the first night would be the 1st of August. If so, I'll be paying for two people for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Someone send me a private email with their address so I can mail my check!

I have an air mattress that IS a bed that I can take with me. I bought it originally for my super single waterbed frame when I decided that a newly divorced gal can't be hauling around a bag full of water every where she goes. I bought one of those Dial a Number mattresses ( it used to be called Select Comfort but I guess the commercials call them Dial a Number because of the ability to soften or harden the mattress to your taste! ) This way we don't have to expand into a third house!

Judi has a couple of drums and some other noise makers she can bring and maybe we could learn to do some drumming?

I am willing to help in anyway I can since all of you decided that my home town is where everyone is wanting to play! I can contribute to a greater share of the food costs as I won't be using the gas or buying an airline ticket as some are doing. Or anything else you can suggest.
I am looking forward to this so very much. Thank you all for putting me on the list!

Smiles!

Hey all you in the northwest :)  I am planning on flying out of Minneapolis airport on either US Air or Northwest and then renting a car once I get to you.  What city is the least expensive and convenient to fly into? I have a quote into Portland on US Air for just under $500, Northwest is higher but I may be able to use some frequent flyer miles.

I went ahead and reserved Glasshouse for August 1 - August 5 and have it held on my visa card. The rental agent is sending me the contract. I haven't booked a second house yet because right now we have enough beds for everyone who is fur sur, fur sur coming.
80 per night is worse case and right now the expense is around 60 per night per person.

Nothing has actually been paid for yet and we won't pay until later.  I'll have a better ideal of what each person needs to pony up as soon as I have the contract and hear from a few others who are still not sure yet.

Douglass  Regarding Amber:  I don't think she is a play pod member so when I sent out my email inquiries she responded to me that she wants 3 (maybe 4?) nights … maybe you could contact her and confirm that … She did say she was VERY EXCITED to be joining with all of us!!!
*******************************************************************************
I really appreciate all of this lay-out of the expenses and information sharing Douglass! It really helps.  (Douglass and I have been doing a lot behind the scenes … organizing and scheming on this!!!)

When we all get to our destination - we can share the story! I have to admit that asking Doug to help out was a bit of “break-through” for me!!! Thank you so much dear friend!!! You lovingly “got my number”.

Sprite - There are no other major airports in Oregon than Portland (PDX). Not many major airlines fly into other cities … Portland is the biggest metro city in the state.

If you and Lisa can arrange to fly into Portland on the same day (Friday morning???) - I can pick you both up and we can all drive down together. You can rent a car in Eugene or Ashland (when we drive Winnie home) or somethin' somethin' … or you can rent a car here in Portland and do your own thing!!! I want to support you to do what you think is best!!!

Martha how are you going to get to the beach?

Are you flying into Seattle and driving down with Keith and Aley? Or are you flying into Portland? Let us know so we can help you with transportation!!!

By the way, everyone …. Aley and Keith will be driving their RV (with their pup Chloe) and will be staying at an RV park not too far from all of us. :-)

Winnie made contact with me that she very much wants to join us … was worried about HOW she would get there and whether or not her body would allow her to join us. We have one of the problems solved: Doug is available to pick her up … (yay Douglass!!! <3 U!!!)

Now onto the next situation … we need to all collectively again do daily rituals of sending healing energy to her. I think that she needs to know that we want her with us in Florence so very much!!! I think our collective energy and healing thoughts will make a big difference and and and … help her be able to join us. She will keep us posted!!!

more to come …
WE ARE GOING TO DO THIS!!!

I did this last year, did ya know? I organized my vacation around a zaadz summer meeting in Maine! (so I am beyond thrilled this is on the “left” coast this year)

Only two people came, Carla Sanders and my friend Rich from zaadz who is not a blogger…interestingly enough he wants to move to Eugene…but I havenot heard from him in months!!! LOL

I AM planning to come!…There are a few challenges in my way I AM working to resolve. Its not impossible my future could change things, but I AM planning on this. I soooo need a vacation! My best guess right now is I would leave Idaho early on Friday morning. It will depend on where I'm going as to what time I would arrive. Last time I went to Blachly I arrived about 1:30 AM. It's about 20 min north of Eugene. If for some reason (Like gas prices!) I decide not to drive, then I will be riding the bus and need to be picked up somewhere..Portland if we are there, Eugene if we are there, etc. Right now I am planning to drive.
I can bring either a blow up matteress or a cot to put up in the house or a tent on the lawn. I will definintely be bringing Drums, Rattles and Gluten Free food.  I ADORE the idea of the Faerie Festival and INTEND to be there on Saturday.  I would LOVE to pop up to my friends place in Blachly if anyone is interested in going(provided I drive down). They frequently have classes in drum and flute making or other Native intrests. I'll check with them to see what is going on that weekend, but it sounds like our schedule is already pretty full!. What if we did a group painting or other art project?
I have only been to the ocean once in my life. It was during the day on a rainy day.  I would love to experience a campfire on the beach. :9)))).This is so exciting! PE

The challenge–I don't know if I'd be comfortable bringing my drum on the plane (wouldn't want to head to pop). If anyone who's already in Oregon or CA has an extra djembe and would be willing to let me play it, I'd be thrilled and grateful!

I did a me/bad and sent my stuff to Doug. I am here to do penitence and mend my ways.

Doug, you have me down for three days, which is the correct number, but not the right days. I will be staying Saturday Night, Sunday Night, Monday Night. So please to remoooooooove my star.

Some thoughts:

* Eating.  Really, why? wouldn't it be easier not to? :-P  Can't we just get 22 bags of tortilla chips and a gallon of salsa? Then everyone goes into Florence and buys a bottle of something. Alcoholic, non, milk, pepto bismo … and you pour it all together in  clean garbage can. At least the guys always said it was clean when they started.

No? You mean this is a Grown-up party? Does someone bake bri? i don't know how, but if someone will do it, I will make appropriate noises.

Can we have a Champagne Frock party night? Some of you know about Champagne Frock Parties. I'll try to get some photos.

Whoever is doing food - can you get in touch with Katherine Eveningstar? She can't stay but would like to come out to dinner one night, bringing her pot of luck, which is worth waiting for. She has sort of had a few months of one bad thing after another and could use an evening out. Besides, she's SO much fun.

Back at food … I think we should have a watermelon smash. It's gross and sticky, but really fun. Tell the truth haven't you always wanted to eat watermelon with your hands?

How many of us are there going to be? I've mentioned to a couple of people that I've got a first rate “Murder” mystery - the kind where everyone has a persona and you act it out, getting clues as you go. You may have done some of these in the past that were lame, I promise you, this one is not. It is top quality. I know. I wrote it. It does take most of an entire evening, so maybe we havn't got enough days.

A treasure hunt and a scavenger hunt are two different critters from different sides of the tracks. In a scavenger hunt, you traditionally go door to door asking for things that some mad-person has put on a list -  like a toilet paper roll or a toilet plunger (who is going to giver you their toilet plunger and why would you want to carry it back?) I don't know, the idea of ringing some strangers door bell and happily asking them if they have an “I Like Ike” button has never appealed to me, even in a small town where someone in the crowd would probably know the people. Truthfully, I'd rather be shot. I did, however, connive some interesting things to do while everyone else was going around ringing door bells.  Some of my guy friends in HS used to go to some part of town in which they didn't live, right door bells,, tell the people they were on a Scavenger Hunt (Usually for our rival HS) and all they needed to complete their list was a chocolate bar! They thought it was a good way to get snacks when they were broke.

A Treasure Hunt, on the other hand, is a hunt which is set out ahead of time and you go from place to place by figuring out each clue.  We stared these out when the kids were practically babies, using pictures. By the time they were in High School, they were doing “Car Hunts” that went from California to Grants Pass, all through the mountains. One year Lezlie set Laura's birthday hunt from Stratford-on-Avon, UK. She took pictures of herself in front of various sites in town. Ashland and Stratford are so much alike that I could put the clues out all over Ashland in the matching spots for Laura to find. That was a great hunt. Taran put one clue WAY above her head on a lamp post. He is six two and he moved this huge garbage can and stood on the top, then moved it back. She couldn't move the garbage can, but she just shimmied right up the light post, grabbed that clue and shimmied back down!  I still do them for the girls if I ever get enough of them. The “clues” are now very difficult and require a great deal of thought. I have always wanted to do a treasure hunt with GPS's. I will someday!

I would love to set a treasure hunt. If I'm not walking, someone would have to help me with the set.

Also, I have a new set of Jumbo Jacks (never been used) which includes a Handbook with different games, their history, and techniques. It won't be long before you can get a PhD in PLAY.  Theroy of PLAY, Hsotry of PLAY, Curriculum for PLAY, Cross Curricular Activities to bring PLAY into the classroom. All coming … soon.

Hi you wonderful people!  Sorry I'm so late, AGAIN, signing in!   I did reply right after you posted the stuff the first time, Doug, about the number of nights & prices, but it was that night that Gaia kept doing the “Chai and incense” messages and crashing.  Sooooo,  here again…

YES!!!  I'm up for 4 nights!  Definitely.  And if the fates don't allow me to attend for some bizarre reason, I'll send a check anyway.  I think I wrote that somewhere else, but don't know if it was on the “lost” post or not.  Evidently, I'm not spozed to respond until now?  Donno.  I just Dance!  :)

Anyway, THANK YOU Doug and Peri for the HARD WORK you're putting into this whole thing.  You are making LOVE, but not in the most figurative sense in which we usually take this phrase.  You are setting the stage for the Next Level, and the sky is the limit, my loves.

I am definitely planning to float down with Aley and Keith in lil' Winnebago.  I'm flying in to Seattle on 7/30 in the afternoon, and we'll get some fun started and then bring it with us.  I'm not clear on what date to return yet, but I'll have my ticket money on Friday, and plan to make my reservations sometime in the next week.  I'm awaiting that Divine Guidance on a return ticket date.

I'm bringing my favorite divination decks.  What fun!  :)

Hi Sprite/Doug you guys could appoint a treasurer.  And set up a Pay Pal on ones profile or in Play Pod.  I'm sure we could figure it out.   I haven't done this before so I don't know all the details of doing it.
Be Safe,

Doug, my Robyn will be with me, so give us a 1 for her for Saturday night.  Don't know yet about Jami and Sirina but we're working on it.  Will let you know a.s.a.p.  I have one Euro bed I can bring along.
