If we quit playing, we not only grow old, we also become flat, dry and dull as dust and we lose the ability to BECOME MORE… . more interesting, more inquisitive, more lusciously alive.
There is an alarming trend in education in recent years, where Hi-tech “equipment” and massive amounts of time spent in lower level thinking skills have replaced creative, self innovative activities. Rote memorization and regurgitation of information have taken the place of children naturally acquiring the ability to create original thought. “Play” has disappeared from the curriculum in many schools, something truly disastrous for the development of a creative, productive population. How can culture and civilization thrive if citizens have no ideas of their own and are unable to produce creative thought?
PLAY POD! is dedicated to the vast importance of PLAY for humans of all ages and devoted to bringing people together as the DESIGNERS of delicious discovery, MAKERS of magic and mystery, learning and language, art and alliance, creation and camaraderie. And Alliteration! Alliteration!
Come and join in the Joy! There are roses that need to be rejoiced and reveled, words that need to be woven, there are stories to be sung, dances desperately in need of dancing, and all sorts of fests that are just waiting to be frivoled into fun!
