Jenny I just wanted to say how much I enjoy this group and reading of your experiences and queries in regard to dreams. For me, this is the "richest" pod on Gaia and I haven't even been anywhere close to half way through the discussions and posts. Thanks to all who contribute and to Ian for growing this group! repetative dreams

quietlaughter said Aug 21, 6:12 PM:

Hello… I am not sure if this is the right place to post something like this - if it isn't, then please feel free to move it to wherever is appropriate…

I have been having dreams over the past eight days of the same place - my grandparent's home. I spent a lot of time in this place throughout my childhood, and I would say that it is definitely an important house of my past (in the non-dream world). However, my grandparents have both passed on for almost 15 years plus, and it has been much longer since I was last in the house itself. Anyway - the dreams are almost identical. I am at the house as an adult, moving through the rooms, speaking to different people that I don't know. Sometimes friends of my grandparents (that is how they introduce themselves) and sometimes my grandparents show up. I am being asked for directions, help, questions, and given objects (a necklace, a book, trinkets etc)

It is not unusual for me to have a similar dream for a couple of days, but I have never had a dream series go for as long as this one has. This dream isn't the only series happening, there is another one (a dream that is) that continues to repeat itself at the same time. I will dream one - have other dreams, then dream the second series. I realize that a standard symbol interpretation of a building like a house can represent the self - but, generally, do you think that it is true for every house, even if there are specific houses connected to a person's past? I ask this because I also have dreams of my own childhood home from time to time, and those dreams are different from these current dreams.

Just wondering what your first thoughts might be…. :-)

I will move this to the Dream Interpretation board but meanwhile please search this group [panel on the left] for the words thematic and repetitive. If you do not come across one about Holyrood search for that. Let me know if this is insufficient.
I will return tomorrow.
Ian.

Dreams of buildings such as houses almost always represent the Self. Since this particular house brings back childhood memories for you you may be dealing with issues that arise from your childhood.

Your grandparents and their friends may represent your grandparents, but they may also represent aspects of your own Self that may be offering you gifts. Grandparent aspects usually are aspects that you look up to with respect and for wisdom, for love and nurturing.

Since they are asking you questions, maybe they symbolize that the answers you seek are within you. A gift of a book may be a gift of knowledge or of information.

I'm not sure about the necklace or the trinkets. I'll have to give that some more thought. Are these items known to you in your waking reality? Are they connected to specific memories or feelings?

thank you Ian and Mark,

sorry for not posting in the correct place. I appreciate the time that you've put into responding to my question Mark. The trinkets are not known to me in waking life. Thanks for your first thoughts on this. I think I will just have to wait and see what comes of it, if anything.

peace,
Leigh-Anne

Hi Leigh-Anne,
This is a dream about the adult you, you at the present time, and you are evaluating/using (or will have to do this) what you learned at the time depicted in the dream.
Are you being asked the sort of help the dream describes? If not, it could lie ahead. In return you get good value, knowledge and mere trinkets - in other words a variety of benefits.

NB. If there are changes to the dream as it appears in each repetition takes them into consideration as they may describe progress or otherwise.

[The house may indicate your body (foundations = feet, to attic + head/mind) so consider the dream in that light too, although there is no specific room or area of the house indicated.]
