Drug seeking behavior

Lynn said Aug 4, 2008, 7:28 PM:

I have been diagnosed with depression, Post traumatic stress disorder, panic disorder, and some kind of mood disorder.  I have been on all kinds of meds: Prozac, Effexor, Paxil, Ambien, Lunesta, Sonata, Buspar, Xanax, Klonopan,  and some anti-psychotic drug to treat my insomnia.  My body and my mind seems to think it needs these drugs to feel better but all they do is mask the problem….My inability to connect with my inner self.  I would really love some advice on some healing techniques that will help me become more aware of my inner child and start the healing from the inside out.  I want to become drug free and cleanse my body and soul.  I try to dull the aches I feel within my soul by drinking,or taking these prescription drugs and sometimes taking more than was prescribed.

Hi Lynn

I too have a bocket load of symptoms including booze.
I have a degree of wellness today, its a journey and somedays its better than others. The first thing I did was stop drinking. I go to AA.
It is not everyones cup of tea but you will find like minded people there. Here you will find a recovery program

I take presecription meds, i need too,my perfectionism doesnt like it,but its better than being dead. So I take the pills.

I use the Sedona method for releasing old mental stuff,do some relaxation..

I bought the book personal developement for dummies there is a CBT section in it which is v useful. CBT with a therapist might also be good.

Firstly stop drinking!!!!!!!!!!! stay off 1 drink for 1 day.

Hello beautiful!

I read your post, and I have seen this before! It is really sad to see what people like you have to go through to live a happy, but not healthy life. So many prescription drugs all manipulating your body and brain so that you can find a happy medium while still suffering inside. You know there has to be a better way. God must provide you with another way.

Do you ever wonder, will it be a change of diet? Abandoning the doctors and the drugs? Is there something else, another way for you, you must wonder every day. I have seen this before and I have had sympathy for the victims of these stories. So much of what you are feeling is blocking the pathway to your inner self. You aren't content with what you are being told to give you the balance and happiness that you need.

You seem like a great person, wanting deeply to cleanse your body and connect with your soul. You find a temporary contentment with alcohol just like a so many people. Can you find it somewhere else? Yes. You can. It's absolutely available for you. All of the symptoms of you ailments can be fixed over a short period of time… I have seen this before and I know you can do it.
