Welcome to the Mental Wealth Pod where we will be exploring alternative healing methods for depression, anxiety, ADHD and and other mental health issues.
Statistics show that up to 9.5% of the adult population will be affected by depression and/or anxiety in a given year and that most of us will experience some form of depression at least...(more) once within our lifetime. As a result – we are bombarded daily with commercials from giant pharmaceutical corporations encouraging us to take their drugs to cure our ills. Drugs that can make us dependent, drugs that can give us side-effects that require different drugs to combat them, drugs that can mask an underlying psycho-spiritual crisis, drugs that fill their pockets with cash. For some these drugs may be necessary or even life saving but for many more drugs are not the solution.
This pod has been created to act as a safe haven for for those wishing to seek and share knowledge about holistic alternatives for depression, ADHD, anxiety and other mental health related issues. The information here is not meant to replace any existing treatments but rather to educate about and advocate for the wide variety of of alternate treatment choices available including; diet, supplementation, new forms of talk therapy, sound and color therapies, yoga, body work, breath work and beyond.
If you or someone you know has had a successful experience (or not!) with any of the above or if you are a facilitator of alternative therapy – I encourage you to share your insights and experiences here.
Is psychoanalysis dead? Let's get off the couch and talk about other succesful therapies such as CBT, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Integral Psychology, NLP, Coaching, Humanistic Counseling and more...
Idenics is a talk therapy created and run out of Colorado. However the system works fine on the phone so if there isn't a practitioner in your area you can still take part. The website with more information is www.idenics.com. It is a bit tough to discuss because it is one of those things that seems too good to be true. A lifelong problem was ended in my first session. From talking to other people I've discovered this is not uncommon. An example: A woman in my office that I'd known casually for years but never really talked with suddenly told me this long tale of a horrible experience she'd had with a lunatic boyfriend. He had actually injured himself and had her arrested for it. She was acquitted in a jury trial, but was still in agony over it. I refered her to Idenics. One phone session later she was happy. Not just okay, but geniunely happy, energetic and positive. I was shocked. Even though I'd had sessions I didn't expect that. Later she told me that she had been planning her suicide. In fact she'd had it prepared. I have not seen her in a while but so far as I know she is still fine. I highly recommend Idenics to anybody.
