&lt;p&gt;      &lt;p&gt;Not one mirror, but two, one for each hemisphere of the brain.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;This came back to me after finding a new pod to post to.&amp;nbsp; The third of only three that were tagged with &amp;#39;science&amp;#39; but that&amp;#39;s a metamessage.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I was reminded of my mirror mind metaphor.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Stand between two mirrors.&amp;nbsp; No, this isn&amp;#39;t one of those, &amp;#39;now try to take a picture without the camera in the shot&amp;#39;.&amp;nbsp; Two mirrors, facing each other as parallel as you can get them (although this doesn&amp;#39;t really matter in the long run).&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;Now try to see behind your head.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Sure looks infinite and (ignoring light degradation from cheap mirror surfacing) might as well be, but you&amp;#39;ll NEVER see it!&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;It&amp;#39;s like that inside my head (and maybe yours too, but I&amp;#39;m not confident enough to speak for others).&amp;nbsp; There are two Hubble class mirrors compacted inside me.&amp;nbsp; Usually, they reflect what&amp;#39;s going on outside my skull&amp;nbsp; but when I aim them at each other, I get the same effect as standing between two mirrors. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;
