Late winter branches

I'll condense my water

Waging Peace

21, 2009 will mark the International Day of Peace. At Voices we'd like

That's a wondrous response, Gael.

My favourite poet is Rilke, and I also love the ones you do.

I write poetry from time to time, lately mostly haiku in the Now I Can See the Moon pod.

I prefer non-rhyming poetry but deeply appreciated well-written rhymes

Sunlight rains on one earth
Delighted beings drink in the light-love
And tremble in the energy of life

1) Do you like poetry? Not like LOVE, it's a passion of mine.

2) Who is your favorite poet(s)?
Neruda, Shakespeare, Blake, Wordsworth, Rumi, others too many to mention

3) Have you ever written poetry? Loads I write often, many different forms

4) Do you like rhyme? Yes, also internal rhyme, and free verse, and the simplicity and zen of haiku, and oriental forms, fibonnacci too.

My completion of the line

Sunlight rains on one earth
love letters from our universe
our sun travels the globes girth
the ocean is her wet nurse

giving succour to all creatures
in truly unconditional love
greening each continents features
life is love, rains on us from above

I like having a first, second, third. But we should all have 4 points and are allowed to give points in .5 increments. This works on another site.

Or each vote for the first, second, third, who they would like to be in that place.

THE CURIO COAST SPRING POETRY PRIZE

Curio Coast Productions specializes in arts and education to challenge and encourage social change in areas such as sustainability, human rights, etc. To introduce CCP to poets we’re offering this general topic contest. Future contests will have themes, such as animal rights, feminism, intentional community, Earth-based spirituality, etc.

Prize & Fees:

Prize: $100. Winner & 2 honorable mentions will be published on wiselittleraccoon.gaia.com

$10 fee per 3 poems, no poem more than 2 pages each. One writer may send more than 3 poems, $10 per each group of 3.

Each poem should be printed in a 12 point, easily readable font. The writer’s name, address, phone number and email address should be in the upper right hand corner of each page--front or back is acceptable. Folding to fit a letter sized envelope is fine. Simultaneous submission and previously published work is welcome--We want your best! Please keep copies of your work. We do not return submissions.

Judging:

We will be looking for fresh, specific imagery, economy, rhythm, interesting subject matter and overall poetic craft. Tone can be edgy or inspirational. Any topic is welcome. Submissions will be reviewed by Wren Tuatha and Curio Coast Productions volunteers.
