Penumbral Lunar Eclipse

This Full Moon is also a Lunar eclipse… and sparks some pretty intense energy over the next 4 weeks… representing a great opportunity to fast track our  growth and consciousness.  
 
The full moon in the earth sign of Capricorn (practical, hardworker) is reflecting the light of the Sun in the water sign of Cancer (family, emotional, homeloving). Whilst Capricorn is hardworking and gets things done, it can get us caught up too much in process and bring rigidity to our lives.. but with the balance of Cancer the emotional element will highlight intuitive/creative new ways of moving forward… so expect great inspiration over this full moon, and the energy and dedication to follow through.
 
A Lunar Eclipse is where the Earth blocks the suns rays from partially/fully reaching the moon.  Thus in a sense the 'past' can be dissolved during the Eclipse as one moves forward in the now  (as the moon is no longer shadowed by Earth).
 
The lunar eclipse aspect is about working on your inner self, and  illuminating ourselves from within.  We will be inspired this full moon/eclipse to open our gifts to higher degrees of frequency and anchor these on the Earthly plane.  It is time to take ownership and acknowledge your divine magnificence… and shine brightly from within…it is time to eclipse anything that maybe holding you back.

Monday, Tuesday(Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse), Wednesday am(v/c): the Moon is in Capricorn

The Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn this week and the Solar Eclipse in Cancer two weeks from now focus on the internal world (Cancer) and the external world (Capricorn), your inside the home base and your outside the home base.

The effects of a set of eclipses can last for about six months or until the next set of eclipses, which will occur at the very end of this year and the beginning of 2010.

During this time, it would be good to take care of matters in both areas that will secure a balanced foundation between the yin and yang energies in your life.

But a messages above show - it is about seeing it in our mind's eye and meditating even more than seeing the show. Or if you can, do both. Eclipse is a great time to learn to see and follow our own inner guidance. The one from that true guru within us.

I will definitely be joining you in the etheric in meditation…for the next 2 years! LOL! As a Cancerian, the next 2 years will have eclipses in Cancer and Capricorn every 6 months. I expect PLENTY of changes and anticipate more than a few surprises.

Thanks for the link. Where we are, the moon could be seen,and I am still awed by the brilliance of the meditation. As I stood under it, I could feel the celestial and earth teachers blessing and giving many messages.

The moon was wondrous!  And shone over such a profound sense of wonder, of reaching out to one another, in higher degrees of frequency yet anchored to the Earthly plane.  It is time to eclipse anything that may be holding us back, and to shine brightly from within…, for the greater good of all.  Joy!

I am glad you post the aspects related to lunar cycles here.  There has been much coming from astrologers of all types that this has been a special eclipse.  I remember perhaps 30 yrs ago, more or less, lying out doors to watch a lunar eclipse occur.

So, due to alignments, etc - I felt compelled to do a little something special in recognition.  Perhaps it was last Sat, feeling strong resonance with the 4 Pebble Meditation (conceived by Thich Nhat Hahn) that I read about in Elizabeth Lesser's interesting book The Seeker's Guide, I set out on my hike to collect 4 special pebbles based upon the properties they were to have.

The first I found was a blue pebble in the creek I cross most days I hike, this I chose to represent Water (symbolically Clarity), next I found my Flower pebble, white with rusty red in folds like a blossom.  Symbolically this is for Freshness.  I knew what I wanted for Mountain (Solidness, Stability), a piece of the purple rhyolite that we carved from a hilltop.  This open has irregular spots of pink beige in it.  Finally, I found my Space pebble, a pale orange slice like pie with gray filling.  This pebble symbolizes freedom, limitless space.  They are all close in size, which I intentionally selected for.

I found a little copper velour bag to keep them in and have been carrying them in my backpack with me but had not done anything with them yet.  So, today I set them on my rock altar, in my little sacred place, and named them for their purposes and gave thanks for finding them.  I can take an appropriate one and further empower it by my intention, whenever the need arises in the future.

I also visited our local graveyard and did a charcoal pencil sketch and ate from the wild fruits I found.  There were no messages, just connecting, appreciating the cycles and waves of life and how they come and go.

so very glad to connect again, just in time for what has been described as the fullest moon of 2009.  loved reading this thread, especially the very fascinating one about galactic moon, though i found it too mystifying to digest in just one sitting. i guess that's where inner guidance comes in. what a wonderful psychic boost it has been yesterday and tonight when sangas, ashrams and covens in different places around manila  held a prayer/meditation marathon of japa, chanting, drumming, affirmations, yagna and candle ceremony and guru puja. bolo! bolo!

Amrita, Deb, I feel peacefully empowered by your messages, if you know what I mean. When we see what is going on around the world, the wonderful things people do in their daily life, we see the real world beginning to emerge. Not the one that scares but the one that uplifts. 

Amrita, I love that description of the “fullest full moon”. It's true that when I saw it, the moon looked more three-dimensional than usual; not flat. It seemed to be ballooning out softly. The luminiscence of its glow is still palpable.

Deb, what a beautifully peaceful collnnection that was! Thich Nhat Hanh's presence wafts out from your journey. I am so thankful to share that journey with you.

And to end this beautiful, moving and exiting time, I was blessed this morning to witness a double rainbow.
What an amazing, energetic time it has been so far - allowing myself to be carried toward the lunar eclipse on the 22nd.

A double rainbow is a blessing, Phoenix.

Recently, when my family was escaping a Gustnado in Iowa, this is a storm with microburst tendencies (tornado-like features).  These are short-lived, shallow vortexes that develop on the gust front associated with thunderstorms.  They are not storm-scale rotations but rather drop from a shelf cloud on the forward side of the thunderstorm.  Winds can still reach 60-80 mph.  I can tell you, it was scary enough, as we drove along the front edge of the storm, trying to get ahead of it's travel.

Anyway, after we arrived safely at our motel in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; the sun broke out later in a deep rich gold sunset to the west and a large, full-arc rainbow to the east.  One of the prettiest I've seen, and it lasted for a very, long time.  There was a second partial arc, like a shadow or reflection just beyond the full arc on the right side.

Hopefully, I have captured the essence of my pebbles … I'm not superstitious enough to care about secrecy, they are just rocks afterall, and so I can share my pebbles here.

However, this is the 6th time I've tried to post them.  For some reason, they don't want to be seen, even though I have no problem with sharing their image.  Very interesting.  Ah, I think it was too large.  Let me try this version.
