9:09- The Gaia Minute - How did you experience it today?

All over Gaia community, we are poised at a particular moment in time when Gaia -Mother Earth with all sentient and non-sentient beings -is poised to raise its vibration.

The call started with Eli requesting many to pray for Mother Earth; by Tracy to invoke the Divine Feminine, and doubtless other calls heard by our collective unconscious, and some posted in a feature on Eli of the sacred mountains.

At an auspicious time, it was birthed as 9:09 : the Gaia minute . The historical roots of the message as it came to me, are in my blog. [9:09 - the Gaia minute - it starts now]
And now, as requested by Eli to involve as many people as possible, Siona has sent out a call to Participate in the Gaia Minute in the Gaia Community Vision group.

What is it about this 9  number?  It must be contagious Lol!
I have decided I am going to do the evening 9.09 since I'm not that much of a morning person these days.  

I have a nice story to share. For years I do yoga once a week on tuesday nites with a lovely neighbour friend of mine, her name is Jotje. We hadn't done it together for quite a while because she had a (new) hip operation and we also usually have a summer break. So we decided to start again together. Tonight was the first time. We work according to a special lesson schedule and usually somewhere between 1.15 minutes to 1.30 hour. We usually start anywhere between 7.30-8.00 pm. I told her about the 9.09 prayer time and I said I wanted to do that for a few minutes, so if we weren't ready with the asanas yet, we could just take a break for the prayer and continue the yoga after.  That was fine with her and she said she wanted to join with the prayer and  we decided we wanted to do the Ohm chant.
So we started, and guess what:   we finished a little past 9 o'clock with the exercises which gave us a few minutes to do the  savasana, the relaxing period flat on your back. Now if that wasn't Divine Right Timing I dont know! We decided we will add the prayer time  into our yoga time together!

I'm still waiting for my first opportunity to do the 9:09 tonight, though I'm a bit uncertain about the time instructions.  9:09 MST would be 9:09 CDT, we would fall back an hour on Nov 1st and then it would be 10:09 CST.  I know I need not stress about the exact time but I would still like to add as much to combined group energies as possible.  Also, whenever possible, I commit myself to the practice twice a day.

I remember being  moved to doing them, and how the group came together for them; and am amazed and humbled as always at how we are guided….

Five people in India, and HummingBird - six of us together joined the 9:09 pm Indian Standard time meditation under holy guidance of Guruji - Swami Eli.
In today's meditation I had a vision of a Tibetan Monastery. I meditated with bright and very young Lamas, their face was radiating light. There were very large green gemstones and gold studded  wheels.

oh Bhattaji, I am all goosepimples! I am so happy these young bright Lama's were with us! I have a sense that my previous life was as a Tibetan. I also am aware I have been Indian in previous lives. Very recently a Tibetan Buddhist nun gave me a beautiful little prayerwheel which was hand made by a monk and contains the mantra Om Mani Padme Hum handwritten by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, which I wear round my neck and during our meditations I spin it for part of the time chanting the mantra Om Mani Padme Hung, releasing millions of these mantras all over earth. I also chant a mantra which feels like a good one for Gaia Minute,  Om Gaia Om 108 times 3. I spend some time in a meditative state. Gien accompanies Gaia Minute at 9.09 South African time, I am happy to say!

I am finding the “meditation” is staying with me almost continuously all day long, if even just in the background.  Perhaps it will mellow and recede a bit, as I grow accustomed to the stronger energies being always present.  It seems to be keeping me up later at night this week but I'll continue to try and get more sleep (it's an on-going effort - getting more sleep - that did not just start with 9:09).

I feel more clarity, more centeredness, more balance, more patience, more love, more connected to All That Is.  


Sitting in the forest this evening doing my Power of Success Through Divine Love Focus List, a squirrel saw me and came running directly towards me, then stopped a safe distance but very close to gaze at me, so close it surprised me, and so I sent love toward the little critter and talked to it, then it skirted around me, safely beyond reach.

Deb,  a few years ago when my daughter showed me the 1:01 series, I found myself using any time that I saw a number pattern, to be  in light mindfulness. And I realized that once we have a clear thought - like “meditate at 9:09”, it goes inward, and then begins its 'work' . So I do feel that this mindfulness will extend beyond a minute or even nine.

I am sure that it will manifest in our actions, thoughts, inspirations and in fact, through all of the ways in which we 'be' and 'do' on earth.

I love that squirrel!

For the past few days, a peacock has been visiting our garden. I try to photograph it and he moves away. Yesterday, I decided to just stay still, and connect to him through the heart. I felt as if I was 'in earth' or within her, and he stood still, faced me, and posed, moving his sinuous neck this way and that.

The camera –hmmm– still not adapted to the new energies!

I had a very interesting experience Friday night.  As 9:09 CDT approached, we were getting ready to leave the district harvest fair.  My children wanted to go and climb upon an old steam engine that was next to a little children's playground.  Though the fair was well-lit, the playground area was not.  It was in darkness.  There were mobile homes surrounding it, as those living at and working at the fair (perhaps the food vendors) were parked there.  There were young teenagers milling about in a group.

While the kids climbed on the steam engine, I noticed the time and then, I noticed a wonderful, very old tree with spreading roots that made a wonderful place to sit.  Though it was not the most conducive place to meditate, it is where I was.  Then, I thought of all the people attending the fair on a Friday night, the next to the last night of the 10 day event, and thought of how most probably do not even have a conscious clue about spirituality.  I thought of the country-western performer belting out those sad songs within the hearing of the whole fairgrounds thanks to amplifying equipment.

I looked up into the canopy of leaves and was surprised to see birds flying around above.  Then, I settled in, realizing my connection to the 9:09 Gaia Minute was doing marvelous work in that moment for the “good” of all around me.  My feet were firmly on the soil, my back and seat attached to a wise old tree and my mind with any others meditating in that moment.  I became aware of time passing for that tree sort of like time-elapsed photography and found that concept fascinating briefly.

It has now become an adventure of discovery, of how I can take my commitment to the 9:09 Gaia Minute and honor it wherever I am, whatever I must be doing at the exact moment.  Whenever possible it will be in the more conventional sense but I won't let my inability to be “traditional” about it, keep me from participating.  That is my commitment to it.  Eli has said contemplation, meditation or prayer.  That leaves lots of space for flexible interpretations.  Sometimes, I am doing a bit of a Qigong kind of movement to music, sometimes I am sitting in silence on my back porch, listening to the natural world, noticing my breath and the wind moving the plants and noticing the light from the sun as it plays around me, even with my eyes closed.  


This morning I had to be in the shower and I thought of it as purification, connected to Divine Love energy and the earth below me, felt the water from our well deep in the earth and the breath of the Earth as wind connected by my breath.  It was my intention to be right on time this evening and I thought I had time for a shower first, as I had hiked in the woods as evening descended.  There were interruptions and delays but I went ahead with my plan to shower, still believing I'd come out right on time.  In the shower, my mind began to be focused on others I know are doing the meditation.


When I came out, it was 9:18pm.  I thought, no wonder I was going into it in the shower.  Still, I took another 9 minutes and thought, well I'm just stretching it out a bit.  I'm finding myself a bit in constant meditation with this, it never seems to leave entirely.  


I had to go to my assistant's baby shower this afternoon.  As I began my journey, I came immediately to a change in our entry to the main north / south road due to new construction.  There was a serious accident there blocking the junction.  It could not have occurred long before I arrived.  Police were there but I passed an ambulance and other police cars still enroute, as I continued my journey.  I did not see the driver but still simply sent Divine Love healing to the scene.  I especially felt the highway patrolman's lack of emotion but attention to his role and the work to be done.  He had kicked a piece of the car's debris out of my path.


At the baby shower, I felt really aware of the energy of the people there.  Some energies felt very clean and good.  My assistant's relationship with her mother isn't good and it was obvious that it was an open secret among the family and friends gathered, who I had not met any of, before today.  I felt great compassion for her mother.  I sensed her pain, which she later confirmed, and her unhappiness.  I also sensed her love for her daughter.  The great aunt felt different to me than the rest somehow but very peaceful and good.  I kept thinking while I was there, pretty normal in my outward behavior, but inside I was thinking I'm here to channel Divine Love healing for whatever needs it.


I am wondering if all this high energy will stay this way for 9 mos or normalize as I grow accustomed.  I think it will normalize or hope so, as it makes me a bit restless somehow.  But I'm okay with just watching it unfold and do its work and knowing quietly that I am some part of it.

Here are some of my personal observations in relation to the 9:09 Gaia Minute.

First it helped me realize how unclock bound I had become. I have to admit I'm somewhat of a hermit. I don't have any social obligations that are time based. I don't wear a watch, I don't even have a clock in my 1971 truck. I wake without an alarm, usually before dawn. I don't get any local TV stations or news and I watch tv w/ a dvr so time is not relevant. The main clock I see is on my computer.

I work a lot with nature. Nature has been setting my “time” as I work until it gets too hot. Some days that is 3 hours and others it is 8.

So here comes the 9:09 and I have to “think” about time again. I used to work in a time based world and used to like to guess the time before I looked at it, that helped my internal clock.

When I am online I deal w/ people in many time zones so my time perception was global.

I found trying to remember to be Earth Conscious at exactly 9:09 to be somewhat frustrating. In examining my thoughts I found two analogies that I would like to present. One futuristic, sub-routines for the mind, and one old fashion, a hand water pump.

I have a strong connection with the Earth so I noted that I already had thoughts of healing and connectedness in association with Gaia on a daily basis. I like to take my more formal thoughts (prayers meditations) and put them on a “back burner” status so they are always running in the background. Somewhat like a computer sub-routine that is always running.

I found the 9:09 idea to be a pump priming moment. With old hand water pumps you had to prime the pump before water would flow. I find the 9:09 moment to be that pumping that gets the back burner sub-routine flowing and brought to the consciousness. As such, I have a hard time limiting myself to my time zone 9:09.

I found that I liked priming the love for Gaia sub-routine at any :09. And not being around clocks, that :09 blurred into any time during the hour.

Is this not the idea of the Gaia minute, to have everyone thinking about their connection and blessings for the earth on a hourly daily never non-connected way?

So I guess my main point is that it does not have to be clock bound. Love for Gaia should always be in the background influencing all our thoughts. If you think about it do it, contemplation, meditation or prayer, right then and there.

Very interesting experiences. Eli has given something simple - Pray Pray Pray for Mother Earth. it seemed to come to 9:09 as I drove to work one day; and he took it into 9 minutes.

As each of us experiences the call and the message, each of us hear as we are meant to. Because Gaia is not separate from us or we from her. We are of her and she of us.

I feel that this mindfulness allows us to speak of her to each other, to others in our 'skin life' and virtual life. The 'need' as Eli has experienced it, is of us coming together, mindfully.

I have been seeing the spiral patterns [1:01, 2:02…on to 9:09] for a while now; and it seems to me that they are a pattern even more than a number and perhaps we are being asked to start exploring them. Let's see what emerges. Yancey, like you I don't wear a watch but since I am in the routine of children's day, I do usually know the time –as my great grandmother taught us, we have an internal clock.

I forgot to say that usually, when I see a 'number pattern', I send out something that is a 'high vibration' intention. No words, just send it out as thru a portal. But now that we've been asked to hold a focused thought, I'm doing that.

Sometimes I find that at 9:09 I was doing something else rather than what I had expected to do. But that reminder is a powerful one to keep that going , as you said Yancey, at the back of our mind.

I'm wondering - is anyone aware of others also focusing, when they do?

Today, the 9:09 was my grounding and clearing experience. I was looking for the moment that Eli and I became friends. The moment of sending a friend's invite is such a sacred one, if one but realizes it. And we did. It was a knowing that the invitation was one between those who had always been 'friends'. I'm sure we'll all sent those out.

And tears welled up in my eyes as the moment approached. I had been connecting at 'higher layers' while I drove,  and realizing that 9:09 is a clarion call –it's not about the time; but about the call to connect.

A post about meditating was writing itself but I wasn't ready to write it down yet.
So, when the time approached, the grounding needed to take place. The tears flowed freely, as I realized that I had to face the pain of losing a friend who has been at the edges of the finger; it spread to the pain that each of us feels, that was told to me by a friend yesterday who has recovered from physical cancer, but not from its fear; and spread out into the pain of Gaia.

The scene shifted to the sacred heart in the mountains, whence Eli came to us and where he returns. And I found the heart of Mother Earth there –radiating outward and inward to the cave within. I feel that the mountains came 'down' to us, that they resonated with the ones in our heart. From Mother EArth to the mother within us.

Thank you for this, Swamiji.  This will take some time to sink in!

I was in the phone-in call that Siona hosted at 9:09 MST- walking in the garden, seeing a native tree that the birds had planted around the jasmine, and that is shading out the non-native jasmine bushes. Its bright red flowers attracted a host of the proverbial birds, bees, butterflies and a dragonfly. The cat came and sat at my feet, placing a little white paw on my toe, and high overhead, in the blue skies dotted with white clouds, a hawk circled.

Speaking to other members of Gaia - Siona, Deb, Alluvja, Tracy, OM, Dawn…was a delight. There is the feeling of something that has started. A nucleus of all of us here on the call and around the call it did not matter; a fern unfurling, fibonacci sequence and now another one. The spiral-pattern numbers of which 9:09 is one.


We missed all who did not speak, in the call today, but sensed the strong presence of all.

Then Anna alerted me abt the India time, and I was able to join you. The most beautiful BLUE hummingbird flitted about, landing here and there; awaking an energy center I h ad not known about: at the tip of the forehead, between 'third eye' and 'crown'….and then I saw her color on this picture of Kwan Yin….

so today, I was at 9:09 three times –as Siona has mentioned in her post :
Step out of the circle of time
And into the circle of love.

This morning I was blessed to have the time and opportunity, to sit in the out of doors on my front porch without interruption, to participate in the Monday 9:09 MST Gaia Minute guided meditation conference call, led by Siona.

The experience was so very beautiful, it is hard to describe in words but the energy, so peaceful and full of love, was so intense I felt it as a trembling.  It was with gratitude that I realized that we each, as a center in our own time zone, had covered the entire United States - Meenakshi - Eastern, Deb - Central, Siona & Dawn- Mountain and OM - Pacific with Lucienne joining in from the Netherlands to link the entire globe together in a simultaneous moment of prayerful meditative Divine Love healing energies.  Tracy also joined us but I do not know her time zone.  I understand she brings her heartful connection to the Divine Feminine energies with her presence.  Anna was there, in our hearts and minds, as we discovered later she could not get in to the call, receiving instead a “busy” signal.

I feel even more connected to these dear, beautiful souls, who I have had so much interaction with in our community but always in a virtual, no time way via the message boards and private emails.  I felt our eternal connections with one another, which I am certain are intended to bring us to this time and place through our special community of Gaia, and to this prayer project in particular.  I am certain that ALL who are called to join Gaia are meant to be here.  It seems obvious but worth saying.

It was an auspicious beginning, coming on this International World Day of Peace meditations.  To see the reality of the Divine Will at work, as explained so often to me by Eli, manifest and know, truly know in my heart that something amazing and beautiful IS taking place and that we are blessed to be alive and witnessing this, in this particular time/space of physical reality.

If you feel even the least bit of interest or curiosity, please join us next Monday.  If you are shy, you don't even have to speak but your energy added to the energies of the others will always make a big difference.  Really.  It is true.

During my exercise session today, we were in the meditation garden of a public park. As we went through the motions of physical exercise, I was communing with Mother Earth through the grass we were on, the trees that shaded us, the birds chirping, and the breeze cooling us in the hot rays of the sun.

During the 'repeats',  a friend mentioned a talk he'd gone to, by a rabbi who was talking about the importance of breath. And as I do a pranayama breathing during exercise, and we moved into some of the asanas, I felt immensely blessed at the different ways we can experience Gaia.

Today, I experienced it twice - at 9:09 individually and at 10:09 (in my Central time zone) to participate in the weekly conference call / guided meditation lead by Siona.  Love was quite pronounced for me this morning, during the guided group meditation.  I “realized” it strongly and in doing that, knew LOVE as really being the simple core truth - compassion is an expression of love, peace is a result of love, love is always so perfecting - at least the kind of LOVE I mean here.  The realm or state of Love, the Divine, and not its human expressions, expectations or demands; as in the human definition of love we see portrayed in the media.

The weekly calls are heavenly, the energy so bright and pure, and it is fast becoming very important to me personally, to share that with the others in our community, which is joining together for this.

While I manage to do it at least twice almost every day, my personal practice is quite varied - both in tone and how I am feeling.  I'm going to get real here.  Sometimes, I do miss the exact time.  OK, I understand that time is a human invention and it is not as critical as just doing the meditation regularly. 

I read a great explanation of time somewhere (that I can't locate at the moment, about how it slows down experience, so that we can look closely, like a microscope - maybe Meenakshi posted this somewhere).  

Anyway, with the meditation, if I “miss” the time, either I try to catch it the next hour (it is nice to know someone is probably meditating along with me regardless), or if it is very close to the “completion” time of any :09 hour, I will go ahead and consider simply that I am “extending” the energy of it a bit.  This is how I honor my commitment to this effort and cope with the reality of my daily life.

I am under more than the usual amount of stress at the moment.  Last night, it erupted briefly and caused me to miss “the hour” in my time zone.  I felt quite depressed.  How arrogant.  What am I doing?, participating in this effort; when I am so very flawed?  Then, I realized, that's the point really.  By being part of this effort, I'm stretching my own personal capabilities and my human expression.  Perhaps, some of those moments I'm not so proud of, are just the swings back and forth, as I seek to be of value doing this.  There is that unevenness to me.

It's not that it is “on my mind” to raise my vibration, by doing the meditation.  I will share what I am doing during my more “routine” meditations, when I'm not improvising due to circumstances.  I'm expressing gratitude for oneness, for wholeness and for our Mother Earth - for providing a home for us, and even the very matter of our physical bodies.  I bring to mind all the Beings of the Earth, even the clouds and wind, and certainly the forest and waters, the birds and fishes.  I go into my heart, expand that feeling, give of it, into the meditation.  I connect mentally to the core of the Earth, by reaching down with my fingers to between my toes and then, bring it up to connect with the energies of Spirit by raising my hands over my head, and then, mixing it all together in my mind, with my movements.  I imagine the love of Spirit for the beauty of Gaia.

I guess I'm sharing all of this to say - don't wait to be perfect, if you fear that the reality of you isn't good enough.  Don't fear that you will diminish the effort, if your flawed self meditates into this 9:09 effort.  We are spiritual beings living the challenges of being human.  I've struggled with this truth lately, and arrived at the belief that it is okay, for me not to be “perfect” and that when I'm feeling the most flawed, I probably need it the most.  I don't do this to improve how I am but I believe, hope, how I am will improve anyway, as I continue the discipline of committing to this effort.  Because as beautiful as the day has been and full of love, I'm struggling with very strong emotions at the moment, that aren't as positive as I would like them to be.  Despair seems very close to engulfing me and so, I'm headed out into the forest as soon as I hit the send button.

Even acknowledging that I am under more than the usual stress right now, I keep thinking, knowing that this too will pass.  I really do know that it will.  But the “contrast” between moments of high stress and the meditations is quite pronounced.  I think I'm “kinder” overall but I hope it's not just that I think I am, I hope I really am kinder and more loving.  I can go into the meditation not feeling very much like I should be at that moment, but if I just do it, I do feel better afterwards.  That's bound to help raise my vibration a bit too.  Whether it helps the overall situation, is beyond my ability to know.

Whew ! !  I'm feeling better now.  As I stepped outside to hike in the forest, I felt as though my insides were ripping apart, I couldn't breathe.  Then, I began to integrate again; and then, to feel energized; and then, to dance to the music (Kelly Howell's BrainSync Walking Meditation) as I walked through the woods.

About halfway (30 mins), I stopped to look out over a field at the moon overhead and and the wind playing in the hillside of trees.  I saw a lone Turkey Vulture soar effortlessly on the wind currents and the message reached my heart to just go with the flow …

The points I made here, though, I feel worthwhile; and so, I leave them and will share all of this in my own Living Metaphysics group; later when I have time.  I'm ready now for when 9:09pm rolls around and hopefully, tonight, I will not doubt my worthiness to participate.

Dear Deb, you have once again revealed the many layers of our experience of meditation, connection, and being 'in the world'.

As you convey, it is because we experience so many different vibrations in our day to day lives, that a connection such as this, is so powerful - necessary, even. Each of us is beaming our vibrations around us at different times of the day; and if for even 9 minutes, or 15 or 18 they are the highest we can do, how wonderful it is!

I had a long wonderful conversation with the Swami-who-came-to-us-as-Eli after the call. Walking in the garden, watching those butterflies, flowering trees, clouds in the blue sky, and listening to one who truly is someone that I can deeply respect, speaking of what we are meant to do, was something that'll stay with me.

After that, and the duties of the kitchen and laundry, all I could do, was sleep!

Today is Dussehra for Hindus; and Yom Kippur for my Jewish friends, and the energies of both are with me.
I'll post something abt this shortly in the World Heritage group.

This morning, I connected at Central Time [Deb's time!]; and remembered to ask Mother Earth's blessing and be in gratitude for allowing us to step on  her for work, play, exercise and life.

Connecting with the flora and fauna that surrounded us, seemed to be watching us, singing its song, showing its sting,  responding to our movement….I felt that individually we grow like stalks with a bud, and as we flower, we are miraculously all in the same lotus- all its different petals.

I usualy do the evening 9.09 but to be honest I forgat today. I was kind of chaotic all day, having a lot to do and not feeling very well ( sour throat that kind of thing).
But a wonderful thing happened. I still had to make a quick run to the supermarket just before it closed at 9pm, so I rode on my bike thinking of all the stuff I still had to do before my vacation on monday. And as I was riding home all of a sudden it popped in my head : the meditation! I had totally forgatten about it . I looked at my watch and it was 9.09!  That was so miraculous.
I had to be attentive to traffic and it was storming as well so I just started AUM-ing and thinking peace.  There was an awesome moon and it was kind of  magical  AUM-ing my bike through the storm with that moon above me.

While speaking to my sister on her birthday, I was in heaven with the clouds, butterflies, harvest moon in the sky, treetops framing  the sky, understanding the deepening economic crisis at home, connecting to the calamities in many countries, learning to see out of focus and listen with a soft ear…and I marveled at how Mother Earth sees so much and feels and hears and acts and …bears, with such beauteous grace all that is on her.


And the spider spins its web.

I wanted to share how participating in the weekly Monday morning 9:09 Gaia Minute conference call guided meditation actually carried through so much of my day -

Some of this I shared in Gaia Community Vision but I add a few more details here …

For this morning's call, as I sat all alone, in the round, stained glass chapel of a large hospital in St Louis, I felt all of you around me, as Siona had connected such thoughts in my mind. 

Then, my focus was dual - one aspect - on the Earth and the meditation and I loved the words about the importance of us being there, showing up to participate and I kept thinking these words coming from Siona sound so much like Eli, we are all so interconnected with this now. 

The other aspect was being a channel of Divine Love Healing for all within the property of that hospital, for whatever reason they were there - patients and staff and visitors alike.  I felt like I had been placed there for that purpose, my medical test ending precisely in time for me to arrive there promptly at 10am Central time.

Afterwards, I visited a old friend and told her about our prayer effort and left her the conference number for the weekly call and instructions for the daily meditation.  What is interesting is that I found a very basic way to help connect her to the Earth, the shared aspects, and explain the purpose of what we are doing.  She is used to me being spiritually inclined, for that is always the content of our conversations, when I visit and I attended a Science of Mind church in St Louis when I lived there, before my marriage.  However, she lives a rather rough life and certainly, she and I went through some extremely unusual experiences of a spiritual nature, when I lived there.

The young early 20 something daughter of this woman is awaiting word on the 21st of this month as to whether the transplant team will allow her cousin to donate to her the kidney she needs.  The mother of this woman is in a nursing home, wanting to go home to die (where husband/father died) and is being prevented from doing so by the youngest son (my friend's brother who has power of health attorney).  I promised to hold both in prayer, until told the need has passed, each day when I stop at the rock altar in my sacred creek-side cove during my hike.

Then, at Whole Foods, where the daughter of a casual acquaintance works, who keeps coming up to me from external mentions, that I should reconnect with her (for it has probably been 10 yrs or more since her mom helped us with a relief effort my husband instigated for Honduras after a really bad hurricane, as he had visited Honduras once).  The mom attends a Unity church in the town halfway between where I live and St Louis.  Anyway, the girl had a dream just last night of me and her mom repairing an oriental rug, which is all the more interesting because I show up there at Whole Foods very sporadically, about once or twice a month at any given time of day - not consistently at all - nor did she have any physically based foreknowledge that I would be there today.  She gave me her email address and I will send her links to the 9:09 (which I talked about with her) and an invite to the Gaia community.

At Whole Foods, I was drawn to purchase a long-sleeve “Green Label” organic 100% cotton hoodie with a tatoo-like image of a heart-shaped world, Mother Earth wrapped around it on ribbons, with a Dove flying just above.

The young man at Whole Foods, who was returning my checked out items to the cart (we have a plug-in cooler and bags in the car to which I transfer my purchases into reusable containers), was wearing an amethyst crystal around his neck (his birthstone, which he knew the color related to one of the chakras).  He saw I was buying a journal for next year “We'Moon 2010 - Gaia Rhythms for Womyn - Reinvent the Wheel”.  He explained to me that although it was “for women”, he had bought a similar publication from another establishment in St Louis because he is interested in the cycles of the moon and how he touches the crystal around his neck to add energy to it.  I immediately was reminded that I had intended to post to the Feminine/Masculine thread and mention that I was hiking and connecting with Mother Earth on Thursday evening and the last 15-20 mins of my hike coincided with the meditation time, announced for this group.  Afterwards, I was in an unusually high state of Peace and calm.

So, the 9:09 experience was spread in 3 very different areas of St Louis today.  I should add the whole day went exceptionally smoothly and parking spaces were always there for me in prime locations, regardless of cyclical rushes.  A beautiful day, truly, and always I kept thinking so very intertwined with the nature and work of this Power of Light group.

Thank  you so much for sharing this late night for you, Deb. I'm reading it early morning, and feeling that peace and calm coming through very strongly.

Within that peace and calm are the seeds that have already begun to spread their unlimited potentiality.

It is all about connection; and as you show, about bringing our shared intention to light by weaving  the seemingly ordinary moments of our life by the seemingly profound.

By the work and devotion of each one of us, a tremendous surge of Gaia-focused energy can rise….

This morning I was up in time to do the 9:09 Gaia minute, but I got sidetracked and so I had to put it off until 10:09 and join in with those in the central time zone.  I feel that if i can catch an 09 minute, regardless of the hour, I'll be joining in with others in their time zones.

I first started out with a heart-opening exercise by feeling the love I have for my immediate loved ones…as I really feel the love…I feel it expanding and expanding. 
Next I cleared out my “connection” by consciously letting go of any judgment, blame, guilt, doubt or anger that I've allowed to block the perfect flow of life and light through me.
After that I just radiated my light and love, expanding and expanding from the earth beneath me to everywhere and everyone and everything on the planet.  It felt like a circulation of energy through me…conditioned by my unique channel.  I visualized Meenakshi's icon…it seemed to perfectly represent the feeling that I had…as a tree/connection between the light energy and the beautiful ground of being, Gaia.
Finally, I felt gratitude….deep, deep gratitude that still remains with me.

This is a point that I am making all the time as well.  On Friday morning, I found that it just wasn't possible for me to even take the 9 mins away, from the demands placed on me, until 1:09 pm (and certainly, at that, my first opportunity, I did my prayer).

However, I have not been able to really participate since then.  I've been in close contact with my family in car travel, restaurant and motel room since yesterday afternoon.  I kept thinking about it last night and finally, when I had a glimmer of a chance after midnight, around 1:09am (Sat) I got interrupted by the kids.  But it was a faint glimmer of a prayer meditation, a tiny breath.

Then, today, I could not manage at all - while breakfasting at the motel, getting stuff into the car, stopping at the nursery for trees to plant in an old driveway to return it to nature, and traveling home by car until late this afternoon.  Interestingly, I feel the effect of “not” doing it on me now.  I am SO looking forward to tonight's 9:09 to get re-centered and back on track.

This long term effort / practice is beginning to remind me of dieting.  So, I'm very aware - not to let the challenges, obstacles, misses, failures, etc dissuade me from continuing the practice long-term.

Like you, I try to catch as near some :09, any :09, as opposed to giving it up entirely.  I also believe the need for concentrated and continuous prayers really means we can't chose the wrong time and who knows?, maybe running late in our own time zone and picking up another, covers for some other who is regular at the practice like I am, when that one “misses”, as is bound to happen from time to time in this Earthly experience.

Such lovely sharings, Helen, Deb.  I've been connecting for some years, at the 1:01 3:03 4:04 9:09 and other spiral numbers as I call them! Now I've begun to do this towards Gaia.

I'm reminded that as the idea had first flowed through.the importance of holding this gently also came through.

“I thought of 9:09 as a time when people won't be stressed as to whether or not they're awake or if it's morning or evening - most people will be awake and available at this time. But of course it could as easily be 12 noon as others have suggested or perhaps 6:06 or another time. The time itself - the number - is a reminder, a cue; a symbol for codes buried deep within us. The timing [moment] is also a cue to start something; much of the prayer will be internal, and will keep flowing.”

After the weekly 9:09 Gaia Minute conference call guided meditation on Monday, Oct 12th - I went to yet another medical appointment and then, to Whole Foods to do my shopping.  There I found a little spiral journal called WeMoon 2010 - Gaia Rhythms for Womyn - Reinvent the Wheel.

At the point of waking, I was connecting to the Atlantic ocean between Europe and the U.S.

At a little before 9 my time, I went out into the garden where we have the harsinghar growing as a bush - it's also called the parijat and has fragrant little white flowers with orange stalks. The sight of them fallen on the green grass is very uplifting to me - reminds me of a wonderful tree in my youth.

Green, orange, white under a blue sky - and you have all the symbolism needed for an altar for prayer, for the expansion of chakras, for grounding, clearing,  centering.

The harsinghar flower drops from the tree the moment it blooms at night. It is the only flower that can be picked from the ground and offered for prayer. As my memories bridged the gap of space and time, I bent to pick up the fragrances of mother earth, reveling in the dew under my feet. Spreading a sheet under the tree, I gently shook off the flowers that had fallen on lower branches, feeling a kinship to the maiden plucking flowers, that I've seen.

Our cat friend came by to step on the sheet and was mystified when I didn't allow her to do so! He kept trying, and that game made me wonder…

I was watching the roses outside the window but the roses called me so I joined them in the beautiful morning… and I remembered a last night dream… Was walking in the dream and looking around and my eyes, heart and soul were amazed of the beauty of Earth, so I woke up with that feeling…
I even have figs fruits at the end of October, the 3rd round this year…
Earth is so beautiful…

I was sitting with one of my cats this morning, opening my heart with appreciation for the beautiful morning and the lovely little cat and I started the timer for 9 minutes.  If I don't have a timer (and sometimes if I do) I get distracted and sidetracked from my meditation.

Yesterday I became aware (again) of how often I'm in my head only and not in my full being…so I consciously included my physical body and this unique space that I occupy on Mother Earth in meditation. 

As I continued to meditate, I noticed sparkles of sunlight on the river through the leaves…and I felt such awe and gratitude for Gaia, the water, the soil, the leaves. 

Radiating peace and joy through my being I realized that peace and joy is constantly flowing…and my awareness and participation is my contribution. 

 I'm so grateful for the Gaia Minute…such a powerful and beautiful way to feel connected to my spiritual family here on Gaia (the website!) and with all that is on Gaia (the planet.)

Yesterday and today I experienced the 9:09 Gaia Minute at what I imagine is 9:09 Bermuda time (8:09 my time.) 

The meditation in both cases brought me from chattering mind to peace and gratitude for Earth Mother and for the Oneness of all that is or was or will ever be.

My husband is scheduled for a complete knee replacement (isn't that miraculous?) on Monday.  His pre-op tests showed that he's recently developed atrial fibrillation so we're coping with that news and with getting a health clearance letter from the cardiologist before Monday.
I'm knowing on a spiritual level that all is well…and I'm trying to pass that information along to my chattering mind.  The Gaia Minute calms and centers me in light and love.  Thank you Eli from my heart.

I woke this morning with the meditation once again going through my heart. We were in a sacred circle, connecting to earth and all beings, to each other, and …

for a moment, it appeared that Mother Earth began to speak. And she spoke to me all day long, specially about how a mother may shout for her children to help when she is overwhelmed; how she may decide to shake them up a little if they're being thoughtless, and how she may even decide that enough is enough.

All cards appeared to be on the table; yet there was no sense of fear or doom or even of a mind made up.

Pray…pray…pray, Gaia is calling. The words of Swami Shraddhasudhasharanda resounded in my ears.

I am experiencing it now, in the deep blessing of Shivoham, the words of a Rilke poem sent to me this morning, in the higher dimensions, etheric space, cyberspace , in the essence of the One in all that we meet. In the being of Gaia.

I find the essence in the words of love that are now internal, expression  of eloquence and the silence of the ineloquent, the stammering of those seeking to express and the faltering of those on the path. In the spaces among us all, I find the joyful dance of the one light in the allness of Gaia..

In today's energy of the full moon, I am deeply moved.

Today's meditation was such a beautiful and loving experience.  First I intentionally opened my heartspace and my mind to clear out and release all judgment and fear…then I just rested in the love that is in the center of all that is. 

I “saw” from the perspective of my heart…the love that I am…and it included more and more and more.  I felt the expansive power of intentional love encompassing the entire planet and beyond.
