Meditations towards the new moon- April 08- March 09

Nowhere is the power of light more apparent than when we take it into the dark night of a new moon.
The nearest new moon is on May 5th; so right now, we are in the period of the waning moon. This is an ideal time for meditating to discover the potentialities hidden within our lives. What we call darkness.

Setting fear aside, let us connect without expectation, to the light within ourselves and within those in our community. Feeling love and support, we could call on a guide - human or animal or spiritual or angelic –to take us into the hidden potentiality.

I first heard about new moon meditations in the Medicine Reiki group of K'sitew.
It was an entry into a world I had not known before. In more ways than one. The day that I was guided to prepare for a new moon meditation, and how the preparation went on for almost a month.
And how I went in with trepidation, and had an amazing experience. There were the two celestial beings I had felt to be my spiritual guides! They were not linked outwardly to Reiki or to Native American culture or even to each other –and yet, there they both were.
Nothing could have shown me the wonders of what lies within the darkness, as those shining lights. The unity of our spiritual experience, the way our guides are always with us, wherever we may go.

The Buddha came and physically gave me an attunement — I still feel the push of that energy. He used hand positions that I had never seen before, in any statue or picture. And one day, in a little-visited antique shop, in a sleepy village in Goa, I saw that statue. Much research later, I understood the meaning of those mudras; and after all kinds of search, found the one statute that I wanted to buy. It graces my home now.

And that is how I see the gifts of a new moon ceremony. This was, of course, not “just” a mediation. K'sitew held sacred space, as did others in the group—we all made an intent to meet in etheric space; in a time of our own convenience; but with a feeling of a sacred circle and sacred fire, and in awareness of homage to all directions.

The moon faces the sun fully and shows us her hidden face. To see it, we have to align with the light.
To see what the moon's light may hide from us, we journey with our inner light into the dark, unknown parts of ourselves.

I will be holding sacred space with all who are  guided to do so, for all who would like to take this journey.

That means, making an intent that we are going in with light; that we think of the darkness as unlimited potentiality, and allow all other words that spring up, words of fear or anxiety or worry, to be cleared away by the power of light.

That means, that we link with all stars  that illumine a dark night.

We may call on an animal guide, and enjoy the journey!

Sharing after that, in a group or with people we are comfortable with, can help to re-balance us after the journey, which could be intense for some people. Take it if called upon.

Music, fragrances, light, can all be used to prepare the space. So can setting up a temporary altar. It can have seeds, flowers, light, crystals, or perhaps other objects from your  household that ask to be there.

When a month has two similar moon events [new or full], the second is called a blue moon.

On Aug. 30th/31st [depends on which almanac one is reading], there is the second new moon on August 2008.

I will be holding a ceremony in etheric space, and all who feel called, are invited to attend.

Create a sacred space for yourself, or get in awareness of it wherever you are; acknowledge all directions that you can feel [ 4, 8, 10 or more, including inner and outer], and set an intent to  join all lightbearers who light up the dark night of the new moon.

The new moon is a time for clearing our auric field of hooks or blocks that no longer serve us; of finding the potential within to blossom even more, become lighter, more transluscent [see  recent posts in this group about these ideas].

Dissolving self identity - Rebirth into the Greater Self
From Children of the Sun

It has been a very heated summer in the alchemical cauldron. False
perceptions are burning up in and around us as the pot continues to be
stirred. As the new energy gets stronger, so do the fires of
transformation.

As Children of the Sun, we are on a dedicated path of Self Mastery.
This is overcoming all human condition and limitation that binds us to
a plane of duality. In this mastery of the small self, we are focusing
on the realization of the True Self as an eternal and limitless creator
being, one with Source, as Source. Our focus is now authentically
shifting from the personality “me” or “I” to the Greater Self ~ the I
AM.

In this new moon cycle, we are initiating rebirth into the Greater
Self. In this initiation, we are asking for continued dissolve of all
illusion including attachment to our own self identity. We are calling
into awareness all false ego patterns which hinder and limit our
understanding of the eternal True Self. We are asking that these
patterns be clearly reflected and mirrored in our daily life.

As we advance into expanded awareness, we can now safely leave the
masked facades that have served us well yet now express as great
distortion in our field. We are letting go of all attachment to self
identity and perceived self importance. We are surrendering all notion
of who we think we are and where we think we are from. We are no longer
focusing on our identity to supposed past lives, parallel lives, future
lives and our dimensional selves. We are dropping identity and
attachment to any supposed mission to save the planet or to heal
humanity.

With our inner awareness as the only guide, we are letting go of the
need to confirm our identity and forward movements through external
resources. We are letting go of everything that feeds the attachment to
self identity and that which directs us away from understanding the
Greater Self as pure awareness which is here and now.

This new moon, we are initiating into dissolution the small self
identification in order for the Greater Self to be unveiled in greater
expression and divine influence.

Going Deeper into Self Inquiry

Ramana Maharshi, one of the greatest spiritual teachers of modern-day
India, stated that the sole cause of all human suffering is a false
belief about what we are. For Ramana, there is no “True Self” from
which you are separated, there is only you, just as you are.

In this new cycle, we come into a state of unwavering, razor sharp
focus in our intention to purify and dissolve the layers of false
perception that we attach to self identity. We are inspired to seek the
truth of our true nature through more devoted inquiry of the self. From
a place of humble naked innocence, we are encouraged to again and again
and again contemplate the question, “Who am I”.

In truth, all that we really know is that we are here, now. All the
rest is story. Self-inquiry assists us to see the truth of who and what
we are now in present moment awareness. It is placing conscious
attention to the simple, single knowing of our “hereness” for no other
purpose than to see it and experience it directly for ourselves.

In the absolute sense, there is nothing that we really need to do. We
are already self realized. We are only covered up in the layers of maya
that prevent us from this simple understanding. We are masking our
Greater Self through attachment and identity to the dualistic world,
and, who we think we are on this plane of illusion.

There is nothing external that can bring us into Self Realization.
There is no practice that we can undertake that will help rid us of our
false beliefs, apart from directly seeing the truth of our true nature
directly for ourselves. There is no teaching, teacher, activation,
transmission, class or book that can give us or show us the truth of
what we really are. Teachers and other means of support serve to simply
guide and inspire, however, the bottom line is that we each must do the
direct “realizing” for ourselves.

Self inquiry is one of the most important activities during these
accelerating cycles of purification and dissolution. We can greatly
benefit from constant and rhythmic focus placed upon deeper self
reflection, self examination and self contemplation as we continually
call forth the divine understanding of the true nature of the Greater
Self.

In our transcendence from the dual plane, the mind is being retrained
to serve as a follower and not the leader. When the mind stays in the
heart, the names, the forms and the stories and even the personality
begin to disappear. With the mind naturally resting in the heart, the
“I” dissolves and the Greater Self emerges. The I AM that I AM.


DAILY INTENTION FOR TWO WEEKS (or longer if you choose)

New Moon, August 30 until the Full Moon, September 15

During this upcoming two week lunar cycle, we are joining in unified
field and placing great devotion upon our Greater I AM Self. We are
invoking the I AM Presence to guide us into deeper reflection and
contemplation of the nature of the True Self.

In this reflection, we are asking for continued dissolve and
transmutation of all false perception including attachment to self
identity. We are calling into our awareness all false ego patterns
which hinder and limit our understanding of the eternal True Self. We
are asking that these patterns be clearly reflected and mirrored in our
daily life.

Each morning and each evening, we are invoking the alchemical fires of
the violet flames for consummation and transmutation of all patterns
and conditions that bind us to an illusion of self identity and self
importance.

Feb. 22/23- Sunday, Monday: the Moon is in Aquarius
Aquarius likes change, a lot
of change. But when the New Moon is just around the corner, it’s not
always easy to implement change. The time right before a New Moon needs
to be used to wind up loose ends and to finish what has been started so
that one can then move on to something fresh with the New Moon.
Therefore, sometimes frustration or a sense of feeling limited takes
over, kind of like you are forcibly contained and can’t break free,
when the Moon sign is at odds with the Moon phase timing because you
can’t do all that you want to do. So instead of spending energy on all
that, just charge on through whatever is on a leftover to-do list and
get those things out of the way.

Feb 24-26 Tuesday(New Moon), Wednesday, Thursday: the Moon is in Pisces
Wednesday
is the 19th century French Impressionist artist Auguste Renoir’s
birthday. The softness of the Pisces Moon energy, which sometimes looks
or feels like fog, is especially applicable to Impressionist paintings.
Visit a museum or look in an art book at this type of work and you will
notice that you have to squint your eyes to see the reality of the
objects in the paintings. Or, if you prefer, you can just get lost in
the poetry of how the colors interact when they are placed next to each
other. A Pisces New Moon has the same kind of interaction with what is
available in your life. It stimulates the imagination and feeds the
soul. Sometimes though, the softness is so ethereal that we take it for
granted, pass it off, and forget to see what is really there.

At the New Moon in Pisces on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 5:35 pm (Pacific time), why not visit a parallel self and ask for help with manifesting your ideal life? Hi Meenakshi, great posting, I love astrology.  How does this all affect us on a physical level.  Could it be that it brings hidden physical symptoms to the surface or maybe we have a physical clearing for example a cold.  Pisces being a water sign maybe affects the water system in the body.  I would be interested to find out more.

Hi Tai, I”ve got some more info, and will post that. I like to share what’s happening to us too. Specially since we can get down and all confused, and then when we share, we can “blame it on the stars” so to speak ;0

I’ve not been listening to my physical body, and have got all low. Definitely not been drinking enough water. But most of all, gone back to not sleeping much. I am able to do my work without getting tired, and stay upbeat. But it’s a confusing mix. Inwardly, still recovering from my daughter’s bout of flu. I just can’t take kids’ illness. Get all over the place [internally]!

Did I confuse you as much as I did myself? 

But I’ve been drawn to art –so it made me laugh when I read Simone Butler’s piece above.

I really loved your poem, Tai, and am so happy Kes pointed us there.

All this info is very interesting and I feel at this time of year, as we have our spring cleanse that water is very important to flush out the system.  I’ve been eating lots of grapes and melon too (very watery fruit!) and soups, maybe this all helps our bodies to re-adjust to the springtime and warmer weather as we “speed up” after the winter sleep!
March 20th is my mums birthday so hope everything goes well for her!
Do you think the green is significant of the heart chakra and being balanced…
It is hard to witness our loved ones being unwell, particularly our children.

Dream of the Green Star 
Aluna Joy - Mt Shasta 1990 
In the late 1980’s, while I was still living in Mt. Shasta California, I had a very strange dream. I didn’t know what it meant at the time, but it was one of those dreams that you do not forget about. 
In the dream, it was at the time of the great shift. I feel it is the shift we are experiencing now. In the dream, there was a weird light in the sky. There were many different colors in the sky, very similar to the Sun dogs that we have been seeing these last few months. The sky had an unreal feeling about it that is hard to describe. In my dream, I was watching all this transpire in front of me. It felt like it was at the end of the day, but I also realized that it was the end of the age. 
It was evident to everyone that something big was happening. Everyone on Earth was scrambling in different directions. Some were acting out of their fear and were running and trying to hide. But there was no place safe to hide. Others were following an inner guidance that came from their hearts, and proceeded to go where they were called. 
In the sky, there were multiple UFOs in the sky, and on the ground I saw many beings that we considered to be Big Foot. Many Ascended Masters were walking among us. It felt like all the dimensions were merging together. This was frightening to some, and very exciting to others. It was like Armageddon and the Rapture all at the same time. It was very confusing, but wildly exciting all at the same time. 
The thing that created a lot of commotion was a glowing green stone. This stone shined like a star. In the dream, if we sat with it, the stone would awaken us to a higher realm of being. In my dream, the green stone, or green star, was in the center of a circle. The ones that were listening to their heart’s inner guidance were also the ones that knew where the Green Stone was. We were all gathering around it, and waiting for what came next. We didn’t know what it was, but we knew it was something that we had long awaited for. There were many that thought that the Green stone was evil, and they warned many to stay away from the light of the Green Stone. Some listened to the fear and left … but most stayed to be together. That was the end of the dream. 
Over the years, I have kept my eyes open for a green stone like the one in my dream. I have been gifted many green stones from New Zealand, but these were not like the green stone that I saw in my dream. I heard about the stone called moldavite, and checked it out also. Again, it wasn’t the green stone in my dream. Over the years, I forgot about the dream and went on with my life. 
Just about the time that the Star Elders said that we had made the grand shift in the collective consciousness and a new age, something new has appeared in our sky. This is the glowing green Comet Lulin. Immediately, the forgotten dream of the star-like, green stone flashed into my mind. If the Comet Lulin is the green star stone in my dream, I don’t really know. But I find it highly interesting that it has shown up now, and for many reasons. 
Astronomers themselves say “Lulin is a very rare and quirky visitor”. I find it interesting that this comet is not only green, but also appears to be traveling backwards. The Maya word “Zuvuya” fits the situation beautifully. Zuvuya means that you can understand things more deeply by looking at it in reverse. Could the appearance of this comet be triggering a deeper sense of awareness and truth? Could this comet unveil the illusions … negative egos of the world? 
Since Comet Lulin’s close fly-by in our solar system (February 23, 2009 being the closest fly-by to Earth), we have been experiencing a lot of interesting energy shifts. We have experienced some beautiful highs and have had to process some pretty deep lows. Emotionally we feel scattered and confused. Physically we are having stomach aches, nausea, and to sensitive ones, even a sense of your entire body being hit by a fast-moving truck. If you are feeling these physical symptoms, it means your spiritual, emotional and physical bodies are working to realign to the new energies. 
Lulin has made its close fly by to Earth in the first few weeks of 2009 just as we have completed a 13 year solar wave cycle ending at Equinox in 2008. In this 13 year cycle, humanity has created a powerful momentum of awakening in the collective consciousness. This is the first year of a second 13 year solar wave cycle. This cycle ushers in a new era where we can actually create with the new momentum empowered by heart-filled collective consciousness. This is the year where all our healing talents will be empowered and supported by the mass collective consciousness … finally! 
This comet will be passing close to Earth just as we enter portal and core days in the Maya calendar … including a rare core day falling on Equinox! Portal days thin the veils between dimensions. The core days act like the Kundalini of the solar system and have been historically proven to be extremely powerful days. Equinox this year falls on the 16th of 20 core days that will be greatly accelerated by this comet’s gamma rays and the global Solar Wave Ceremonies. Two other comets have been within eyesight on Equinoxes in years past, but this is the first green comet that falls on a core day! Acording to Maya Cosmology this Equinox, March 20, 2009, is potentially the most powerful and transforming event that we will have ever experienced in recorded history.

You won’t believe it, but I’ve seen Lulin! I figured if he could come all the way from outer space, surely we could drive a few minutes to the park where the Astronomical society meets every Saturday. I hoped we’d be able to see it still, and we could.

A very diffuse greyish light, moving quite rapidly. Such a blessing!

How fascinating about Lulin – and the dream of a glowing green stone, a stone that shined like a star and, if sat with it, would awaken hearts to a higher realm of being.  I’ve never heard about Lulin, so much appreciate knowing that he is a “very rare and quirky visitor”  Not only green, but appears to be traveling backwards?? – the first green comet that falls on a core day, the Kundalini of the solar system.  And the Equinox, March 20, 2009, is potentially the most powerful and transforming event that we will have ever experienced in recorded history?
 

 
Calls me to think of Moldavite, the stone of transformation par excellence that opens the heart to universal love.  Meditation with moldavite activates all of the chakras and opens the mind to the limitless possibilities inherent in moldavite’s cosmic origins.
 
More precious and rare than rubies or sapphires, moldavite is a bottle-green translucent stone of unearthly origins.  Scientists postulate that a meteor shower some 15-20 million years ago liquified the landscape, forming glass at very high heat.  The Moldau Valley of Czechoslovakia is the (only?) site of moldavite known to exist.
 
On and before March 20 … I am definitely meditating with moldavite! :)  JOY.

I wonder if anyone else is seeing subtle but clear transformations in their life? For me, “spring cleaning”, Gaia [online and offline], family, friends, household, relatives. There is much awakening everywhere. I”ll write more soon…

I’m getting some messages; please take what resonates, and let the rest flow as the comet’s water is flowing!
One of the messages I’m getting is that Comet Lulin’s going clockwise, unlike most bodies in the solar system, and the fact that it is dumping huge amounts of water in the solar system, are both significant. Influencing our internal body clocks. Correcting a slight anomaly that had taken place in the planet’s path.

I’ve always had an excellent internal clock, that would tell me the time without the need to wear a watch. I’ve not worn a watch for at least 19 years; and am never late. For the past 5-6 months, I think, this ability had gone. It’s back now, though I”m still about 4 minutes off…..
So to me, this message made sense.

Also, in keeping with the new moon and spring energies, I’ve been able to focus the family on spring cleaning; and been able to give a message to my mil which normally wouldn’t have been easy to give. Something healing.

Spiraling backwards!  (Something like remembering the future?:)  I'm fascinated with quantum physicists' play with the idea of time as a mutable wave of energy; of the theories of parallel universes, or alternate universes at any point or occurrence along a timeline. 
 
But what’s with the spring cleaning?  I have this incessant need lately (actually for months, but now it’s hitting me upside the head) to change modify clean clarify.  Unwanted programs, scripts, energies and thinking need to be gently released. 
 
It’s all about the energy of the heart, isn’t it, opening the heart to universal love.  What promise is afoot on this precious blue-green planet and its cosmic interactions with all that exists in this universe?  Ironically, in a world that has so much diversity and conflict, sometimes it seems that the very discord eventually will result in the breaking down of dualistic perspectives.  And bring us to the unified field of Oneness, where individuals can truly be free to accept the fullness of divinity within them.  And why does that feel like it's just the beginning.
