Is it appropriate to use Psi for Criminology?

Bryan said Dec 17, 2007, 1:28 AM:

Do you remember Minority Report staring Tom Cruise? The overall message of the film seemed to take a moral or ethical stance on the use of Psi to help solve and/or prevent crime. For your consideration, I am sharing two pod casts each being an interview I held with a psychic detective, each revealing their respective experiences and opinions in the use of Psi to help solve or prevent crime.

If only for interest's sake, take a listen to one or both of these very informative conversations in order to gain a truly unique perspective on the use of Psi to help law enforcement.

Today's Thought (Pam Coronado, Psychic Detective)

Pamcoronado

Pam is called upon for assistance by FBI agents, detectives, and DA investigators from all over the country in order to help solve their toughest cases?

“Pam is resplendently focused and has established that her intuitive responses have a prevailing accuracy. I have witnessed Pam convert even the toughest of skeptics. While doing research and testing on many psychics for our book, I quickly ascertained that Pam is “special” and we deem her one of the best psychic detectives in North America. Adding to her notable talent is the fact that she is a licensed private investigator, which affords her considerable insight into the elements of solving a crime. In this regard, Pamela Coronado is unrivaled.”

Richard Brennan, Consulting Criminologist
and co-author ”Psychic Criminology: A
Guide For Using Psychics In Investigations

(Charles C. Thomas Publishers, Ltd.)

Pamela Coronado has been involved in psi criminal work since 1996 when a dream provided her with the information needed to help a search party locate a missing woman in California. That dream changed her life. Since then, she has been actively involved in helping to solve local and regional crimes and mysteries that had become very frustrating for search parties and law enforcement.

She has consulted in this capacity to local, state, federal, international and private agencies. Pam uses clairvoyance and psychometry to gain “insight” into a crime or missing person case. By holding objects worn or loved by the victim, Pam can “tune in” to the person and learn of their current physical state and clues about their location. While no psychic can claim 100% accuracy or provide all of the answers, Pam's work has proven to be astonishingly accurate and helpful on numerous occasions.

Be sure to listen in on this conversation about psychic ability with accuracy on an extraordinary scale! Bryan (Stay Tuned!)

Kid Safe: protect your family from molesters & kidnappers

Pam is interviewed and provides appearances regularly:

Laurie Campbell - Laurie will be seen with me weekly on Discovery Channel's new “Sensing Murder”. Laurie is a gifted medium for those looking to make a connection with the other side.

Allison Dubois - The inspiration for NBC's hit “Medium”. Allison is a talented research medium and criminal profiler.

Noreen Renier - Frequently seen on Court TV's “Psychic Detectives”. Noreen lends credibility to this field.

Parents of Murdered Children - For those in pain who need support and to know that you are not alone.

Doe Network - An amazing group of volunteers who work tirelessly to match the missing with the unidentified.

Pam's Pre-Interview

1. At what age did your intuitive abilities begin manifesting? Did you tend to know more of a certain kinds of information over others, like when someone was about to die, be an accident, or the actual time a baby was going to be born? Please explain.

2. So, do you get help from the spirit realm as in having a special guide or group of guides or angels with whom you communicate on a regular basis? Do you believe that all people are psychic but some more accurate than others? why do you think this is true or not true at all?

3. Now, here is a compound question. How, when, and why did you decide to this for a living?

4. If someone wants insight into Relationships, Career, Finances, Health, Friends and family, people can contact you for an uplifting, fun and truthful hour long reading, where you show people a way through the haze. How rewarding have you found that aspect of your service and ability? Any examples?

5. When was it apparent to you that you could participate in helping solve crime? What was your first real experience in finding a missing person or helping solve a crime? Let us spend some time giving the listener some insight into the world of the psychic detective. How do you prepare in your own process in discovering information to benefit a case involving a crime or missing person from start to finish?

6. On September 26th 2001, New Line Cinemas released a fascinating and intimate look into Pam's life and work in a documentary extra feature for the Final Destination DVD. While the Final Destination movie is violent and gives a negative portrayal of ESP, Pam hopes her feature will counter this message and give young people the truth about psychic phenomena. What was that experience like and what did you hope to accomplish?

7. Once you became popular for your accuracy more cases may come your way. How do you choose the cases with which you are to involved?

8. Pam along with her good friend, Joan Bramsch, have written a book Kid Safe, which will advise you of the best ways to educate, inform and protect your family from the ever-present danger of child molesters and kidnappers. Simply click on the image, and you will move to the Joan Bramsch website and be able to see and order the book. Tell us about that project and what you wanted to accomplish

9. Share with a touching story about a missing person. What is your advice for people who know they have psychic ability that can be used for what you do and how to explore and develop that ability further? Do you offer workshops or mentor?

10. Do you provide workshops for special law enforcement agencies like the police and their detectives on how to enhance their intuitive proficiency at work? Is the world becoming more open to what you do? How can we stay connected to you? 10. Do you provide workshops for special law enforcement agencies like the police and their detectives on how to enhance their intuitive proficiency at work? Is the world becoming more open to what you do? How can we stay connected to you? (Pod Cast link is below!)

In your opinion, is there ever an instance when it is inappropriate that a psychic use his or her ability to help solve or prevent criminal activity?

I think it's totally appropriate.  It's kind of the same as someone overhearing someone planning on committing a crime.  That person who overhears it has a responsiblity and a duty for reporting it.

I think if someone is capable of preventing crime, they should.  I know the use of Psi may be a laughable subject, especially in a field like criminology, and I don't think any of the findings done by a psychic or anything is viable in court, but at least it will point the cops in the right direction.

It's kinda like what ben parker said to peter, “with great power comes great responsibility.”  I know if I were psychic, I would tell the authorities if I saw something that could prevent a crime from happening, or bring a criminal to justice.

Absolutly! If I had a child missing I would want every possible outlet to help. However I would not want everybody and ther mama coming out with 20 diffrent directions.

I had an instance, belive it or not during the superbowl 2 years ago. Bruce was gone to a party and I had decided to go and get chineese food for me and the kids. My daughter takes down a missing poster and brings it home. I found it on the table and went to go question my daughter. When I touched the picture I got all these images in my head about the murder. I have been intuitive but never at this level. There were alot of details, I told somwone who ended up telling the police and I was completly embarassed. Any insights I have ever had were only about my family and such. I spoke with a detective and said ” i am sorry, this does not happen.” I think after he could tell I was not a crzy person he asked me what I saw, I gave him details, and he gave me his number. He said he must get 20 calls a day from “so called psychhics” he does not discount them, but alot of the information is bogus and a waste of time.

Part of me wishes I would have kept my mouth shut, I wnated to crawl under a rock. This was  a personal visoin. that got out…but the mom in me was screaming…”What if it were your daughter?”  details were correct sucha as the car and such but she was never found..and her parents are still searching which breaks my heart.

So.. I suppose I have been on both ends. But from a law enforcement stance I would use someone who has “been in the business” and who ethically moral, and in it for the other person and not themselves.

Thanks, Bryan, for this thread. Didn't notice it until Angela and AlphaGal posted to it (thanks to you two, as well). But I'm inclined to listen to the podcasts. I'm a noob IRVA member and always find reputable information interesting.

For the record, it's always appropriate to use intuitives. Minority Report was a great movie, but what I remember from it is that it's questionable to sequester intuitives like factory-farmed chickens, rather a problem with the use of psi.

With your apparent skills, you already know the bad guys don't sit around deciding what they're not gonna use.
