Re-Vision Qabala. We need a contemporary qabala for today, a 21st Century qabala, suitable for our “ground”, our electronic environment. There is no advantage in our remaining locked up in any cultural cycle, exchanging hoary grimoires and number matrices and counting synchronicities, as if in a trance or a dream. QBL has it's issues - a bit of a chimera, a mutt of a system - despite it's efficacy for certain things.

Well, you use the QBL code, which indicates the stream of qabalah that you learned.

Same one I initially learned, still my fave.

But, that stream is the product of a great mingling and mixing and mutting of ideas that happened in the relatively modern period from the 1400's to the early 1900s.

So you've got all kinds of influences muddled up together, several flavors of kabbalah and judaeo-christian mysticism, rosicrucianism, tons of art of memory, hermeticism of a multitude of flavors, all kinds of doctrine of signatures philosophy, alchemy (closely related to doctrine of signatures as applied to qabalah), revivals of platonism and graeco-egyptianism, gnosticism, literally everything one might imagine.

A side effect of the catholic/christian repression - all these underground religions and philosophies were forced to mingle in an underground environment, pressure cooked together into what we now have as QBL.

Thats what I figure makes QBL so powerful. yet at the same time, what dooms QBL.

In time, the principles behind qbl will be used to invent a new something, and maybe that will get the chance to be used that deserves, but may never get, because of it's mutt heritage.

Which is really too bad, but thats human nature. Snooty buggers.

lol, i guess I am not a purist then, or perhapes subscribe to the idea that a pond which is too clean has no fish…especially in the crazy world that we call reality..
I ended up making a set of Oracling cards included Da'at..and have been using them in personal and for others in readings.  I am a newbie to giving readings for others, (just over a year now.) but have read for myself with Runes etc…for over a decade. 
The QBL and all its wonderfull Mutt-ness, gives my subconcious language a lift and the inner dialogue between me and my SELF (lol) has definitly been enriched and less tainted by fear.  Which is nice.
If any one is interested, I am working on a Workbook/workshop that deals with Oracling for the Self by the Self on the Tree.  IF any here are really interested I could start a small thread here too…

Through medtation, journaling and obviously oracling.
Mixing the streams I guess is what I am after…
