Have you ever met someone and instantly felt a connection with them?  Be it the connection of instant friendship that lasted decades, or love that lead to a strong and sound relationship, or even of connection of understanding or empathy that changed your life in that moment.

Actually, it happens all the time… there are so many connections that we cross paths with… and we need to allow our hearts and minds to be totally open to each and every signal.

A friend named Jody, just this weekend, shared with me that there are connections at many levels… messengers, acquaintances, friends, intimate friends, lovers, soul mates…

Anyway.. trust the connection… and it does not always mean love at first sight… but it sure culd.

Like I've known them throughout the ages.

I love that feeling.. Makes me feel.. not so alone in history.

Oh, YES.  Right in the heart.  Bull's eye, bingo, ivewaitedallmylife kinda surge.

Oh, yes.  “Messengers, acquaintances, friends, intimate friends, lovers, soul mates…”  They are out there, looking for us as passionately as we look for them. 

:)  We really do need each other.  It's a kinda Oneness thing.

My husband!  Most amazing thing in the world.  Hehe, good thing too, because barely three months later I was preggers with our first boy!  I should post a picture of the night we met.  I don't know why I fell head over heels…He was completely unshaven, his hair a mess with a silly baseball cap on it and he was wearing a bright green 1UP shirt, like from Mario Bros.  It was a Halloween party.  His costume?  A vampire cape from walmart with the huge tag still on it.  Him and his friend were going to try and return it the next day.

If our hearts are open, we experience love connections everyday. Everyone of us.

The problem with society is, the vast majority of people associate love with family, or a sexual relationship.

One day, we will recognize the power of connections, and love, as the purview of everyday life… the connections of destiny.. rather than some mystical connection that rarely occurs.

What a sad world we live in, when emotional connections are so rare, or ignored.

I got set up for a blind date with a friend of a friend named Dave.  He came to my apartment on the evening May 24, 1975.  From the moment I laid eyes on this guy, I knew something profoundly mystical was happening between us.  It was like I had known him from a previous life, although prior to this, I had always been pretty dismissive of that kind of  stuff.
 
Thirty-three years later, we're still together and still wildly in love.  Go figure.

oh yes, again and again, in terms of friendship - not yet as in “love of my life” but it's great to read the stories of those who have!

This is a very interesting question and not so easy to answer.  As for “love at first sight” I don't consciously believe in it. For fireworks to go off and bells to play, not reality, however, once the initial impact is over, then the connection starts if we allow it too.  (forgive me for I am writing this at 429 in the morning and babbling).  If we go for the relationship aspect, many of us have that “connection” and are lucky to have it.  After a couple of marriages, I know now that I have my “soulmate”.  He started out as a good friend and it literally very slowly developed into a relationship that has lasted nine years.  We are still growing with each other.  Differences do come up, yet when something is amsiss in our relationship, we both feel the frustration and we don't give up, just try to communicate to make the bonding hold and through the years, the connection has remained there, the broken links are fixed and we anticipate more broken links and know that what we have will always be and face them together.  That is the strong connection.
The other connection is with my daughters.  That is a strong and unbreakable bond even through distance and differences.  A tone in a voice illuminates and through the day one feels the “difference” in the heart and seeks to “mend ” it.  There is nothing like a mother's love and the sense that we can feel pain, hurt and anger through our thoughts and dreams.
