rain vs sunshine....

Principessa said Oct 25, 2008, 11:13 AM:

am back to little humble hometown…. where it rains so often….

sometimes its just so comfy to sit down quietly and listen to sound of rain drops…and i equally welcome the oppurtunity to be caught in the rain unprepared - gvg me a reason to enjoy every single bit of it…

i've asked this before but now i ponder on this question again and i wonder if there is a difference between rain loving person vs sun loving person? or does it just reflects our emotion at that particular moment?

when someone loves sunshine - does that mean he or she is a carefree & outgoing person? and rain lovers are more so called emotional people??

so what are you? rain person or sun loving person? and what you think it reflects ?

I like both.
Even we have been children, we enjoyed the rain, sang songs about rain. Now grown up, Like the drizzling, listening to the rain drops makes us more happy. I feel like a child. Sun is also necessary  to attend to several things.
Any how , we under went heavy rains last week and now this week, sun is scorching us. So I like to remain emotional

I love sleeping in or napping on rainy days. The sound of the rain and the dark skies makes me feel sleepy.

Mostly I like the sun shine better.

I don't know if there's a difference between people who like one or the other. I never thought of it before. It's a good question.

I'm easy going, patient, and love people. I enjoy being outdoors when it is warm and sunny and tend to stay inside when it's not.

i'm with you treniff… i tend to stay indoors when it's not warm and sunny outside and i guess, when i am indoors, that allows me to be a more reflective, pondering kind of person… when it's sunny outside, i tend to be extroverted and in love with everything and everyone around me… :-)

I personally think it is where your heart and mind are….I can see the beauty in each day now, but, it was not always so.  I used to relish the miserable feeling of a rainy day….it fed my state of mind….even a sunny day was something to rue…no excuse to be sad if it was glorious outside!!!  Today, when I wake up, I am able to see the beauty in each new day, no matter the weather.  My girls and I like to dance in the ran and play in the sunshine….what a gift to finally wake up and see all the outrageous wonder in every day!!!!  Happy for me, is a state of mind…bring on the rain ;-)

Coming from Melbourne Australia, where we often get 3 or 4 seasons in one day I love variety.

Remember that without both we wouldn't have plants, and wouldn't have life nor rainbows- they are both necessary, of course

Ahh. An epic question.

I live in The Sunshine State. Florida.

If you've ever lived in Florida you know that it can be blue sky sunny out one minute and then pouring down rain the next.

So as a born and bred floridian. I love both the sunshine and the rain.

The sunny days are perfect for working out in the yard, playing in the yard and enjoying life.

The rainy days are lovely for sitting inside and reading and watching the rhythem of the rain or snuggling up to the one you love and enjoying life.

Wow, I was thinking about going to school in Melbourne (still am, if I can afford to go such a distance).  Are the landscape and wildlife (plants in particular) varied as well?

Here in Texas US, the weather is pretty constant most of the time (ie- hot and humid) but it does tend to change rapidly when it does (bright hot sun clear skies one hour then gusty cold winds rolling in a blanket of clouds the next, literally, that's was today).

I'd love to study botany in Australia.  The attitude there seems to be a lot more eco-friendly and aware than here.  Denial is a big business.

Personally- I love LOVE rain.  I smile walking down the street just because it's raining.   The sound, the feel, the smell, the sight, everything before and after, even the huge dark clouds.  I love it all.  We don't get a whole lot of rain here.  Soon I'll be moving to go to school in Seattle where they get plenty so I think I'll be very happy there.

I'd say I'm more in introverted person, perfectly happy sitting at home painting or reading, in my garden.  But a lot of people mistake me for being more extroverted because I'm also friendly and very playful.  But I definitely need me-time to recharge from all the extroverts sucking the energy out of me.  I guess I'm emotional, but not outwardly.  But rain doesn't make me happy because it's sad.  Part of why I love it is because I love plants and plants love rain (in proper quantities of course, flood=bad).  But there are lots of reasons.  Hope that helps in your survey.

I feel the same way you do, Lauren.  Rainy days are perfect for putting a stew in the crockpot and curling up with a good book.  To me the autumn leaf colors look more vibrant on a cloudy day, but washed out in bright sunshine.  And I love the change of seasons - can't pick a favorite!  It's as if Mother Nature is redecorating all year and we never have the chance to be bored.  And rainy days are cleaning days!
