Hello Starlight,

I look at the Universe as very simple, not complex at all.  To speak to God, the Universe, go within for you ARE Source Energy.  All the answers to any question on your mind is within.  There is nothing external to you that is your higher consciousness to the Source for all external to us is an illusion.  What is real is within you.  What we see around us was manifested by our very thoughts when we were taught about this world and our environment by our parents and others; therefore, go within for all your answers and to communicate with Source God.

One other note, I stare at the Sun whenever it is shining and not rainy or overcast like today.  The Sun is the Cosmic Conduit to Source and I communicate with the Sun and go out in Nature regularly throughout the day to stay connected to all around me…to remain grounded and focused on this very NOW moment for miracles abound everywhere.

Cosmic consciousness operates without form, labels and concepts.
Perception works this way: We see a blurry energetic expression of what we might call “chair.” We learn to label this thing as a chair and all chairs we see in the future are not truly seen but merely labeled as “chair.” And we never experience the energy of any chair ever again. Cosmic consciousness acts without these labels. Cosmic consciousness can feel eternity in an instant and be absobed in the amazing intricacy of a pebble. Look at the world everyday with new eyes, pretending to not have seen a thing before in your life. It is a weird, strange mysterious world, but the experience is profound.

Communication does not operate here as you would imagine. The 'knowing' here is a direct experience. You don't communicate, but participate.

Thank you everyone for your thoughtful comments here, in agreement with you all, but I was not asking about my access but as a joint venture, our communication with cosmic intelligence as in we together. I was thinking person to person via cosmic intelligence, sorry if I didn't express my question very well.
Animals do it together, a monkey learns a new trick on one island and pretty soon all the monkeys on other islands and everywhere else learn the same new trick. Wildkat came close, but lost me a bit because of brevity, not sure what abbreviation IM is?

I suspect that as we read through these responses and notice our thoughts that rise up… images, sounds, feelings… whether we are conscious or unconscious now… we can also notice that though the content is different… the structure is the same. 

The deep realization and experience of this similarity in structure is one way of beginning to recognize Cosmic Connection, Higher Intelligence, Merging with the Godhead… etc.

This is a broad question, and I don't presume to answer it completely… but I think what we are doing now is one good way.  Getting involved in a local class or group that does meditation, prayer, or chanting is another good way.

This is how it works…today I meditated on some things that are going on in my own life. Then I went out and got on a bus and said “hello” to the driver. We had a brief conversation that was profound because I said to her “never give up.” Turns out she had just heard that from someone else and entered the phrase in her cell phone. She pulled it out to show me. I don't know her, she didn't know me…somehow because we both chose to engage each other as part of our day the universe delivered her a confirming message through me, who did nothing more than spend a few moments in reflection about my own self today and then turn my day over to a higher power. Reflection, awareness, engagement. In taking the time to connect with ourself, the cosmic, and others communication gets passed along. When we continue to practice our spirituality and open ourselves to others along the way maybe it will bring change as the message gets passed along.

I sense a strong thread of negativity / fear through these links.but to be fair I have only had time for a brief scan so far,  In my experience trust in higher self,  universal love, leaves no room for fear.

Some of the simplest things in life are access to the Source.  For me personally, the natural world, prayer, and meditation are obvious ways to access the infinite around us.  I find the most connection can be found sitting in a quiet and secluded slice of paradise, such as the middle of a forest, near a waterfall, by a lake, or in your own backyard.  Ultimately, what facilitates our communication with the intelligence behind all that we have come to know in this Universe is a willingness and a genuine desire for that communication.  We must be hungry for it, humble enough to accept it and receive it, and honest with ourselves about what we are seeking.  A genuine and heartfelt desire to communicate with the Source is never denied.  :)

if you can quiet your mind you'll stop fighting against the natural flow of the universe and you will go with the flow… meditation works provided you don't think to much…examples of meditation to slow thought include thinking about your breathing instead of your thoughts or you can count fingers when your thoughts bother you.. I always offer a bit of thanks for the thought trying to entertain me and go back to focusing on the present moment by focusing on something physical rather then something abstract.  The key is keeping your mind in the present long enough for your ego to give up.

outside of meditation you need to focus on the things that you want and forget the things you don't want – when you beat the drum of things that you don't want such as violence, anger, hate, revenge or the victim stories that people feed themselves over & over you activate that energy in your vibration and attract more of that to you.  By turning your attention to something that you do want * this is totally up to you by the way * your energy will match that and propel you to it.. You need to find out what it is you want… If you don't know where your going how can you expect to get there?  Do some soul searching.

I believe it's hard to do what I described in the above paragraph. It's much easier to do it through meditation.  But honestly it works.  It takes time to get the process down but it works. When you stop fighting the natural flow will carry you.  In meditation You will accomplish everything by doing nothing. But outside of meditation it's a daily process to maintain positive thinking.  You will hear people tell you that motivation doesn't last and for that matter neither does bathing which is why it's recommended daily.  This is work and for lack of better words it's a change in lifestyle.

You stop watching negative news stories and stop watching needless violence because you come to realize that your perception is not passive but rather it's creating your very life – What you focus on expands.  You might have thought that you were only watching life but you were living it.  What you give your attention to is what rules your life.  So give your attention to that which you want in life not that which you don't want..

If you take a single drop of water and drop it into a cup of coffee you shouldn't expect to change it back into water but if you continue doing this over a period of time it will work. If after one drop of water you say this doesn't work then this process will not work because your spirit gave up and your ego won.  I urge you not to give up. There is a quick method of changing the coffee.  I don't advise this method but it does work.  The ego is the substance that is similar to the coffee and when you can remove it you can immediately become pure as water. This can happen right before the moment of death.  I can offer you several examples: If you read up on people that have been put on death row you will find that many experience peace right before being executed because the ego had no reason to continue – it gave up.  During a car accident people talk about time distortion because the ego gets out of the way and for a moment it's possible to be totally calm.  Time itself changes in these moments.  I can attest to being in a car accident and being able to make decisions that seemed impossible afterwards
as if I had more time then I really did have…

Also sometimes when you loose someone very close to yourself your ego will shut down because it has no understanding of the situation – it gives up. You hear about these as life changing experiences where people turn there lives around. 

again i don't advise those but there is also immersion:  think of immersion as someone taking that cup of coffee over to the sink and pouring all the water into the cup at once… This is when you surround yourself with people with similar interests. You can find large groups that do this such as the show put on by Anthony Robbins where thousands of people stop focusing on there problems and start focusing on there solutions.  In 3 days peoples lives are changed forever instead of 3 years lets say just to put a random number out there.

The above is just a few examples of how the ego can shut down and connect you with source but I believe it's far easier to keep your mind in the present by you focusing on the things you want instead of the things you don't want – when you do that you stop fighting the current of your energy flow.

Don't ever try to change people because you can't do it.. they have to change themselves – you can tell them what you know but let them decide.  I can't honestly tell you to shift away from them as these may be your family & friends but as your shift your frequency you will attract others. They will also attract you to them.  Your friends & family either shift or get left behind.  You can try but i have found that you will relate less & less as they bring up things that are negative, violent or even the poor me victim stories –

Also you will find people who are polarized by whatever you have to say or as people say “there will always be haters” 

my advise is to send them love & release them – don't throw your pearls to swine as the good books says – leave them to there own accord.  They will all shift when they die – your just making a decision to shift before you die.

Meditation can also be on what we are doing as we are doing it, for instance it is almost nine and I am in the moment enough to know it is time for my mothers glaucoma eyedrops, her eyesight depends on them and she cannot remember, I can.

We are totally linked to cosmic intelligence at all times - relax and enjoy it.  I have a hard time remembering this myself, and often forget to check in and have a conversation with her.

All we have to do is be still and aware that we are part of the whole, and communication happens - of course the hard part is being  still and being aware that we are part of the whole!

Even harder to remember is that we are cosmic ourselves - every bit of us, making communication not an inward or outward effort. I try to include my entire physical body in the conversation - when I can remember to do so.

Many years ago I started reading books by Alan Watts and Ram Dass. From reading Alan Watts it came to me to start doing a mantra, but I didn't know what mantra to use. I was walking in the park close to my house and trying to figure out what mantra to use when all of a sudden I saw a comb on the ground. For some reason I picked it up and on the top of the comb it said “God is Love”. So I deceided to use that as my mantra. Day after day I repeated the words God is Love, hundred and thousands of times, over and over. One of the things I learned was how noisey my mind was. Another thing was I felt God's love in my heart. Ram Dass wrote a book called Be Here Now, I also use this as a mantra. One of the things it did was help me be aware of the present moment. It's almost like turning on a light bulb, a more intense awareness. I have used other mantras including Thank You Father, which gave me a thankfulness for what I have. I don't want to give you the impression that I turned into a saint overnight or that I am a saint now but I do my best to create a better person everyday. I have used The “Gap” which is a guided medition by Wayne Dyer on CD. It is On the Lord's Prayer. What you do is say the first word and then pay attention to the Gap or silence between that and the next word and on and on. I have studied Echart Tolle's books Stillness Speakes, The Power of Now,and The New Earth. I have just finished for the second time Conversations With God book 1 by Neale Donald Walsch in which I can't say enough about.
I try to start the day around 6:00 am reading and enjoying the mornings sound and silence (It's really nice to be retired) and try to finish the day the same way. I give thanks for another wonderful day.
I just started Gaia and I hope I can contribute as well as enjoy what others have contrubuted. Thank you for being a friend.

Thank you all for your contributions here, however 95% here have looked at this from an individual point of view, valid on an individual basis, but I asked the question from a we, together point of view, read my profile and blog and you will see I do access, acknowledge, communicate, and show gratitude daily to universal consciousness.
  I have to actually eat the food for it to nourish ME. In the same way,
i have to actually practice mindfulness / communication with All  in order to reap its benefits and come to understand why it is so valuable. Like Ghandi, i try simply to live what I believe, and this affects every area of my life. I believe in love and that is why I care for my elderly mother myself, why I might give a homeless person a home till they can support themselves,  I practice sustainability, keep my emissions low, and abstaIn from travel / polluting.  i want a future for my grandchildren and yours.   I do see it's value and that is why I am now exploring unity / interdependence and universal consciousness and how we can move forward together -rather than separately in our own separate private world of bliss  Books are useful as pointers , but we don't go to a restarant and eat the menu mistaking it for the food, at some stage we have to learn from life and everything can be our teacher, not just the world of books and mentors, we wouldn't ask someone else to eat for us, listen by all means and learn, but we should think for ourselves, be true to ourselves and access our higher consciousness which is our link with unity.

Is there anywhere Cosmic Intelligence is not?  Yes, our thoughts are conditioned and are coverings for deeper layers of consciousness.  Yet, is the wave separate from the Ocean Depth?  Is it not an appearance of movements deep below.  For example, our psyches are often filled with dualistic thoughts.  It's him vs her, me vs Thee, etc. and on and on.  Yet, these “ego” thoughts are mirrors of about a 10,000 year span of increasing dualism.  It's this religion against that religion, this nation against that nation. parent against children and children against parents, as well as the absurd battle of the sexes.  So, all of this is a surface level wave of a huge movment that is well into its 10,000th year.  Can we enter a new level of thought.  Can we go beneath the surface and see the relationship of the waves to each other.  To see them as effects of one movment.  Could the wave that looks over at his sister and starts cursing at her as “other” then see that what he sees as “other” is part and parcel of the same body?  When I listen to your heart beat, what am I listening to except the cosmic intelligence that beats my heart as well?  Take care.  Burl

Bensoph, thank you, I agree, there is nowhere where cosmic intelligence is not, we do not have to move an inch even to access it, basically that is what I am asking, can we enter a new level of thought?   Can spirit push ego beneath the surface and see the relationship of all the waves to each other in the ocean of unity ?  I believe love is key here, if we love the same whole body enough then awareness brings ego into willing service to the whole.

Awareness and Release, used concurrently, work beautifully for me. Concepts and beliefs drop away, and only presence remains. It is effortless and easy to integrate into to daily living.

We are a holograph.  A holograph is the part that contains the whole within it.  So, every thought you can ever hold generated from a much higher plane.  That is why you are playing the Creator's role.
Many religions utilize a form of text to define and access a higher energy and intelligence.  By writing and reading instruction, we formulate, reformulate, structure and restrucutre the patterns of our mind.  The patterns of our mind direct the energy signals that are both leaving the body field and entering into it.  These signals define the experiences we will ultimately have.
So, take charge of your own consciousness.  Meditate or become still.  The more you do this, the more you will experience an energetic shift from your crown and mental centers.  Write out the instructions or affirmations.  Like what do you want to see manifest?  These things should both personal objectives and desires, and spiritual objectives.  These affirmations should include rules that you want to govern your life path.  With so many frequencies interacting in our experience, and so many co-creators, guidelines or rules of governship are essential and required per being.  But you get to choose what roadmap you want to utilize.  You do not have to use the rules or guidelines you were taught when growing up.  You can establish a new standard.  but the way to condition this into your consciousness is to write it, read it until it enters the heart and mind center and you lose the need for pages.  However, I don't know if we ever totally lose the need for pages.  Thus, spiritual texts like the Vedas, Koran, Bible, Torah, etc. endure.
Keep the negative out.  Condition your mind toward the positive.  The more that you take deliberate control and champion your own consciousness, the quicker you will realize the higher truths and objectives because you will no longer be a spectator of events, nor one to be controlled or a conformist.  You will assume a greater power of self role, which will automatically open up new channels of communication with our higher forms of beingness because quite frankly, they begin to line up to you, as opposed to the other way around.
When I came to this realization and transformation, prayers (I use this liberally) were answered, flowing through.  The blocks started falling off and I felt life flow.  I can do things I use to imagine before and my supernatural attributes are now presenting themselves.  I was no longer an alien in a strange land.  I was a powerful co-creator with a powerful role to play in planetary evolvement.   
Because we contain the whole within us, this means we already have complete access to infinite intelligence and there is so much we can accomplish.  We just have to pioneer the frontier of consciousness - take it to a new level.  We have to first realize, it really isn't hard we just have to stop expecting it to be hard and stop defining it as hard and start defining it as easy and start expecting it to be easy, and thus, that is what is becomes.
And then you realize you had powers you didn't even know you had, and answers you didn't know you carried, and life truly then becomes a gift.

gframesch.I am not sure why you feel the need to shout at us with endless capitals, I am not going to tell you that your beliefs are wrong for you. Equally can you find it in your heart to allow that others may have differing beliefs that are right for them.
As far as I am aware Jesus never said he was the only son of God, and he did say we are all children of God, ( sons and daughters of God.) If God is omniscient and omnipresent, then he is within us all and in all that is. and as Curley says we are a holograph. Some find God by other routes to yours, other religions that worship
God, no one religion has a monopoly and people choose a path that is right for them. If God is in all, then we only have to open our eyes and heart to see God, right where we stand and a direct route to God,( which was my route,) is also possible. Which is more important,  if God is Love, and in all -  to be right, and try to shout others into submission to our own beliefs?  Or simply as God does, to love All ?

There seem to two kinds of searchers: those who seek to make their ego something other than it is, i.e. holy, happy, unselfish (as though you could make a fish unfish), and those who understand that all such attempts are just gesticulation and play-acting, that there is only one thing that can be done, which is to disidentify themselves with the ego, by realizing its unreality, and by becoming aware of their eternal identity with pure being.

I've been having to search for answers to questions like this alone via computer.  I have read that meditation is the top answer.  I have been meditating more and more, and I try to do it at least once everyday.  Amazingly enough, answers from above do come to me, but mostly it's not answers that come, it's more like a “suggestion”.  I try to make sense of it all.  Like last week, I got to a point where I swore I'd sell my car and just leave where I reside.  I even put a price on the windshield.  Just so that I'd have enough money to go.  But a voice kept coming to me saying, “No. Don't Sell It Yet, Wait Till Next Month”.  Well, I didn't sell it.  I pulled it back to my parking place (still the price on the windshield), and I'm waiting to see what happens next month.  I figure, there must be a reason for that “little voice” within me to tell me that.  I just have to wait and see.
