Chakras, auras, and subtle bodies.

Siona said May 29, 4:15 PM:

Beautiful people!

I have a question—though this one might be more well-suited to discussion rather than a mere Q&R.

Over the past few months, I've been getting more and more interested in what I'll call, for lack of a better term, human energetics. In the past, I've been hopelessly skeptical about the notion of auras and chakras and the human energy body, but last year I started exploring practices like Qi Gong, and feeling into my own experiences with energetics, and I have to say it's made a huge difference in my ability to sense and work with these hard-to-articulate fields. I've found it fascinating, but a little disconcerting, too… and I'm wondering what the rest of you might have to say.

Do you believe in subtle energies? In auras? What has your own experience been? I've heard that our contemporary Western society is one of the only cultures in all history that hasn't treated these phenomenon as real. What do you think is lost in this?

I accept them. I feel them because I am not judging them, blocking them with my own channel on too loud so I accept them for what they tell me and accept the response my chi gives back. I enjoy immensely talking without words.

Thoughtful Siona brings to mind Sherrilene’s question: What could you do right now to help the next generation?

Siona brings to mind, Shameslaya’s question: Is there a direction to evolution, or is it merely at random, or are we learning something we've been through before?

Siona brings to mind her question: What have your experiences of human energy been?

Being retired and nothing better to do with my time, I’ve been writing my thoughts down first thing in the morning for the past seven years, before I’m distracted by the day’s activities. More lately, I’ve been stating my thoughts here at Gaia and reading what others say, based on their personal experiences. My personal experiences are connecting with a bigger picture.

An fallible Pope, held infallible, was replaced by fallible science, held infallible. The latest science has proven Newton and Einstein wrong. In addition to the immutable laws of motion, there is much more. We are co-equals in the foundry of creation, wrote quantum physicist Evan Harris Walker in the Physics of Consciousness.

Given the scientific fact that science has given us the atomic bomb, the world's concern now led by Iran’s development of the atom bomb, and the threat of a nuclear holocaust, and Israel says they are not going to let that happen; they are going to strike first, enter North Korea with long range rockets, and the atom bomb. They are selling their hardware to Iran. President Obama, in the interest of peace, is asking Israel to give in to fazing out of the West Bank, for nothing in return, at the same time talking peace with Iran, and nothing yet on what to do about North Korea.  And we now hear that the American people are looking at a national debt of $550,000 per household.

When I brought the above mentioned problem to my daughter’s attention, her answer, I think, reflects the majority of the American people’s answer: “I don’t listen to the news. I devote my thoughts to my children.” She’s a school teacher.

We’re interested more in our personal lives than the world’s problems. My father told this rebellious, disobedient teenager that God gave Adam everything a man needed, but Adam disobeyed God. He was ordered out of the Garden of Eden. My father went on to say that I didn’t appreciate all that those who came before me had done to make my life good. He admonished me to be a team player, to be a cog in the wheel of progress. He finished by stating that if I didn’t change my attitude, I’d likely end in prison.

One of my Gaia friends advised me not to be a rock in the stream. This disobedient rebel found his cause. If you were to read my profile, you would find that I’m a Virgo with Aquarius rising. Virgos are good at organizing their thoughts. In Jeanne Avery’s The Rising Sign, I’m “different.” I may be so far ahead of my time that I’m accused of being eccentric. I’m a chance-taker. I’m not one to hide my light under a bushel.

Tell me how you read this in the Bible. From the Book of Genesis, “And God said, Let us make man in our image (Gen 1:26). As to the tree of knowledge of good and evil, what does this quote from Genesis mean to you? “For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof (the forbidden fruit), then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil” (Gen 3:5). By the way, this was the serpent in the tree speaking to Eve. And what does this quote mean to you? “And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now lest he put forth his hand , and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Therefore, the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. (Gen. 3:22,23). Adam was ordered to till the ground for his livelihood, ordered out of the welfare state. Have I listened to the devil? I’m I doing the devil’s work? This doesn’t say to me that I’m a rock in the stream. What does it say to you?

Imagine yourself an extraterrestrial a million years ahead of us in conscious awareness of the galaxy, here observing the religions of Abraham and the ongoing holy war. It would be like you observing the conscious awareness of a worm.

In reading my profile, you read that my Saturn is trine Pluto. “This trine gives me the ability to understand the laws by which subtle forces are organized. I could have the willpower to work relentlessly toward making fundamental changes in my own and other lives. I could have a sense of destiny and an unusual karmic mission. With my Mercury trine Jupiter, writing on religious and philosophic subjects would be a natural in the Third, Sixth, and Ninth Houses. The Third House: Conscious thought. The Sixth House: After finding my self in my First House, hard work and detailed methodology brings into fruition that which is creatively envisioned in the Fifth House. The key to understanding the universe is learning to understand the atom-to understand the subtle forces of the microcosm, that which makes the outer manifestation possible. The Ninth House, and all the aspects of it reveals the individual's ability to tap the higher levels of inspiration , unfold wisdom, and develop a social consciousness.”

It’s all a matter of choice. We are not forced to follow our paths of destiny. In reviewing my life, by the time I had reached my forties, my life was like trying to climb a greased pole. I was on a dead end street. I blamed it on my government. With my attention focused on government, I went to the county law library and studied constitutional law. Voices from the past spoke to me. I had a bigger than life calling, followed by a transpersonal or a self-transcendent experience. I connected with humanity’s highest potential, recognizing and understanding spiritual, and transcendent states of consciousness. With my conscious awareness expanded, my life started making sense to me. When everything should have gone wrong, everything went right.

The American people can put off the painful reality of where we are at this time only so long. It is time that we start looking within for answers. America’s government is heading the ship of state for the rocks.

Siona:Do you believe in subtle energies? In auras? What has your own experience been? I've heard that our contemporary Western society is one of the only cultures in all history that hasn't treated these phenomenon as real. What do you think is lost in this?

Siona, at first I saw chakras as an interesting way to map the human energy system. I came to them after I'd  studied Maslow's hierarchy, and somehow the two flowed into each other in my mind. I had met people who spoke about auras and seeing them, since childhood, read about them; but had no direct experience.

When I began to get deeper into yoga, meditation, study, and healing, I began to 'feel' them in my mind. I'd thik something; and sure enough there'd be something about it in a book, in a website or out there. So believing in them got moot, and experiencing them became paramount. In my healing practice, I gain much insight about these areas from the other's energy field. So that's a longish short answer to your question.
Yes, I do believe in subtle energies and auras, or whatever we call what we sense around us [and everyone senses 'vibes' from each other]; because I experience them.

I don't even think that all of contemporary Western society has treated them as unreal, specially not in the U.S. and some other countries; it's just that mainstream society may have done that. [ To tell you the truth, mainstream Indian society has done the same, but there the 'weirdness' has a better chance of being accepted. ]
I've met many who've been injured by this, buying into the belief of others that they are weird or crazy or out there or just plain unacceptable or even punished by society. This includes Nancy Ann Tappe whose parents couldn't accept their daughter who could actually 'see' the aura colors but had no clue what they were. I had the pleasure of meeting her in Singapore where she talked about life colors. She's the one who first talked about 'indigo' children and so on, which was later taken further by others. I am thrilled to see that she finally has a website; even three years ago I think, I couldn't find one!

Meenakshi: Oh, goodness. That's brilliant! I'd never made the connection between Maslow's needs and the chakra system, but now that you point it out, the relationship seems obvious. Thank you.

Also, my fledgling explorations have led very much in the direction of yours; the more I make myself available to these phenomenon, the more experiential my understanding becomes–and vice versa.

(And yes–I should have said mainstream, not contemporary. I've found, even personally, that there are many subcultures and communities that are remarkably well-verse in these realms. :)

In my culture which is Malagasy; people call the “Aura”: a “Mask”.
I do not mean the wood carving from a gift shop; a  “mask” can be also intangible. It refers in this context to an energy emanating from someone's face or person.
And beauty has nothing to do with it I met “Mask wearers” who were so-called good-looking people and some who were not quite so… (sorry about that).
The energy can be either positive or negative if the later is true then one can attract abusive, mean people.
As someone formerly labeled a “Mask Wearer” , it was quite convenient in hindsight because I did not have to marry every loser I met.
I can thank the “Mask” for my career, I am now advanced to Doctoral Candidacy.

This is not to ridicule the poor people who feel alienated because they have low self-esteem issues or other.
My experience taught me that the “Mask” symbolizes fear. I used Meditation or call it Introspection if you will and it worked wonders.
However, I will not go as far as to thank any awful person I met in my life for the hell he/she gave me. I just learn from the experience just like would a student at school. I sometimes wish, it didn't hurt that much though (Yeah I know-that's the ego talking)!
Anyhow-I  strayed far from the subject and landed on a Jim Carrey movie title instead!!!!!

Cheers,

Marie

I have been FLOORED by energies. I seem to be hypersensitive. I am learning to manage it, though. I gather that I push a pretty powerful energy myself.

Awareness certainly helps, and acceptance that it is real.

I am truly thankful that I have connected with certain people with a strong, loving energy. They are some of my most powerful soul circle. And I am glad that I am aware of people with strong contentious energy so that I can decide to block their impact on my system, which I can do, with awareness.

I believe we all have energies; what we choose [consciously or otherwise] to do with them is the defining factor…

With peaceful energies,

Sherrilene

I most definitely believe in subtle energies such as what you call auras in your question. In my own personal experience I am what my family jokingly calls a “Death Seer” my mom is also a seer but her visions are not as horrendous as mine. On my mothers side all the women have some sort of psychic ability so I’ve hade quite a bit of exposure. Some of us can also sense or see other people’s auras. As for our society not acknowledging these phenomena you have to remember that the people who originally came here (Columbus, etc.) were not that open minded and they instilled that into the next generation who instilled that in there children. This caused them to believe that they were right and they surprised any one who was ‘wrong’ in there mind and this carried down the generations until today. Much is lost in this. It can be so wonderful to sense what mood someone is in thou I can’t blame someone if they would rather not become a seer because at times it sucks. Especially when you know what’s going to happen and no one listens to your warning. Oh and just as a side note I’ve noticed that people who have a strong spiritual aura are more susceptible to being struck by lightning so be careful.

Human energetics is mostly about releasing blockages that restrict the flow of life force energy. Once freed from those, we are able to access the unified field that connects all that is. Then we are no longer bound by “human energetics” and become one with pure consciousness. Our human bodies work perfectly when every cell is vibrating to the frequency of this field we sense as unconditional love.

I think it's something we all feel on a subconscious level, but not everyone brings it into their conscious attention. Who has not felt another when someone is staring at our back, we feel them before we turn and see them. We sense atmosphere, positive, love and compassion, or negative, anger or suspicion before a word is uttered.  Call it intuition, or subtle energies it has to do with senses feelings and sixth sense. I find it works best when mind is calm, relaxed, focussed  in the momentand open to receive. then we are open to telepathy and ESP, i get this with people, animals and trees. I can't do it to order, and it is blocked if mind is busy, but if my mind is relaxed open to recieve I percieve things at long distance and intuitively get a physical urge go to them,  totally unplanned, only to find they require my help, examples would be a patient found in a room full of gas, and another having a heart attack, one who had an accident with a parraffin heater, my second son after falling from the top of a playground slide onto concrete,  my dog in trouble in the sea. I just know when i am needed even some distance away. In one instance a community doctor I worked with had similar abilities and we both turned up on unplanned visits to the same patient who had fallen and broken a limb. It takes practise to see auras, and i haven't pursued that, but I seem very sensitive to others physical and emotional pain, often able to describe it's pathway  before they tell me. I have an uncanny ability to read my mothers mind, I will say something and she will tell me that was exactly what she was thinking, I quite often link into others thoughts, even strangers sometimes. I think our science / math based education makes us sceptical, however in the end we cannot ignore our own experience ,at first we may ignore it as coincidence, a fluke, then when the evidence is repeated over and over again we have to heed it,  believe it

I definitely believe in energy bodies. I think they are our natural “language” of communicating with all other forces in the world. I have often gone outside to contemplate issues and realized the answers silently watching a butterfly or looking at the clouds, a stormy ocean. Once I felt my answer “it's all about love” being shouted to me (though not verbally) by the trees surrounding me. Other powerful protective aura experiences I've had were trying to touch a bear claw amulet being worn by a speaker on energy - she invited a few of us to touch it after her talk, but though I tried 3 or 4 times & watched my friend touch it, my hand was repelled by a force field. The first time I saw my acupuncturist/energy medicine doctor, he gave me my acupuncture treatment & a deep tissue massage, but told me he had tried 3 times to do some energy work on me, but my body would not allow him into my energy field & told him to stay away. That made perfect sense to me as I was a bit uneasy with him that day as I had only been expecting a discussion/interview of how he would treat me & not a treatment with a deep tissue massage which I'd never had before and found a bit uncomfortable, so I could feel my guard going up willing the session to end.
Unfortunately most of us were taught in our childhoods to ignore these feelings because they were not real or coincidences. I believe the human race is evolving and the best legacy we could leave the next generations would be acceptance of their gifts and inspiration to become the best they can possibly be. They may bring this world the joy of peace, harmony, end of war and hunger. Bless them & pray for them.

Auras are REAL, there is no question of believing or disbelieving, they ARE there. I can see auras, and I can feel their vibrations and density. You need to train yourself to a certain level to be able to SEE them. These auras can be “interpreted” too, giving insight into the person.
