What's the strangest food you've ever eaten?

What's the most usual thing you've ever eaten? What made it so unusual or strange? What were the circumstances?

raw sea urchin, when we were living in Japan and were being honored by a special dinner.
NOT my favorite. Snails or raw rhubarb would be much better.

Raw sea urchin? Really? I love uni, and the fresher the better; to me it tastes like some lusciously briney version of pumpkin pie or custard. Yum. Next time I'll trade you. ;)

My sister-in-law's family is from Hong Kong. They moved to Peru when she was a baby and that's where she was born and raised. Her family has their own Chinese restaurant in Peru. My brother and sister-in-law live in Phoenix where they met when my sister-in-law came to America for college. When we visit we eat lots of Chinese food. We have tried many new foods there. The most unusual I think was in a Chinese restaurant in Phoenix. We were served Chicken Feet, a delicacy in China. Really there is no meat on the chicken feet, just skin. If you like the skin on a chicken you'd probably like chicken feet. I had eaten in many Chinese restaurants back home, but never saw chicken feet on the menu before. I learned that what is served in most American Chinese restaurants isn't really what they eat in China…just made to suit the taste of most Americans accordingly for profit purposes.

Um… I dont have much experiance with exotic foods but I do with my fathers food experaments. I think the strangest thing he has ever had me eat was a concoction with bacon, hamburger, hot dog slices, chicken, 6 kinds of cheese, eggplant, carrots, peas, tomato sauce, tomato chunks, and mustard all heated up in a big pan. It was a orange so bright it was nearly neon and was quite possibly the worst hing I have ever tasted

…. thankfully ' none '….being a staunch vegetarian is an added advantage here…when it comes to food i even turn my eyes away from TV if there is a display of any non-vegetarian food which is something terribly repulsive for me to even think about let alone look at or taste !!

( sorry to hurt my friends !.. my statement here is deliberate , but not with any intention to hurt please !)

,…probably it has something to go with my upbringing in an orthodox family !..

Raw horse meat, I suppose. Some find it strange though I don't particularly.
