If you were a book, which would you be?

Siona said Jul 8, 3:17 PM:

Do you remember Farenheit 451? It describes a world in which books are banned and burnt by the millions. In an attempt to preserve the wisdom and literature that would otherwise be lost, people took it upon themselves to memorize the books they loved most.

If you had to “be a book”–if you had to choose a book to memorize for future generations–which would you pick?

The first thought that comes to mind (which I should go with otherwise I would never be able to narrow the list to One Book!) is “Sophie's World” by Jostein Gaarder… I love the idea that I could actually Get Out of the Book! ;-)

Hmm, if I had to be a book, I would be a book with blank pages: a book for writing, sketching, drawing, designing, journaling, scrapbooking - a book that would seize people's life at the moment…

That's easy…I would memorize The Collected Poems of Emily Dickinson. Her poetry is classical but is still relevant in today's society. The book covers everything from life to death to nature to love.
I read Fahrenheit 451 a few months ago and found myself wondering what book I would be, too.

The Canada Geese Quilt is one of the first “chapter” books I read when I was a wee one, and to this day the title and story still stick somewhat. It's also the first book I found myself reading over and over until some of the pages fell out. I realized the wonder of reading the big kid books, and never stopped!  I had to google the author- Natalie Kinsey-Warnock. go figure that I'd  be a kids book :)

If I was a book I would be a international dictionary if there is such a thing. Words are a gift to this world. They help us express ourselves and weave stories. It'd be kind of dull if words and the power that they give us were lost expecially in translation.

if i had a book i had to memorise it would have to be 'Runt' by Marion Dane Bauer
its a book that is meant for children but it holds a lot of meaning. basically it teaches that just because your the runt doesn't mean you can't help in some way and that you are important to your pack.

Hmm… I would like to be Illusions by Richard Bach. I have already memorized parts of that book and retold it to people, so it wouldn't be too far of a stretch.
