Do you believe in reincarnation?

Bubbles said Jul 10, 5:29 PM:

I recently finished writing a book that was fiction basically revolving about how our past lives can affect the present.
Though being pitched as simple fiction it does reflect how I believe.
There are just too many people I feel like a met before and too many things that I find I know more about than I have been taught. Anyone else feel that way?

Hi Ariel,

My name is Kala and I believe in reincarnation too. I always have. I grew up with a Hindu dad so reincarnation was just accepted. I am pleasantly surprised by how many people believe in reincarnation these days. Including many people who are not into eastern religions.

Just last week my pets' groomer came over with her puppy. Her previous dog died last November and she was devastated. She told me that she truly believes that her puppy is the reincarnation of the previous dog. She says that she especially believes this because the pup was born just a day or two after her previous dog passed away .

How long have you believed in reincarnation?

Interesting story about the puppy. It just goes to show that animals are people too.
I've believed in it since I was a child and had a dream I was a Native American princess.
I'm not familiar with a lot of Eastern religion, but I do love the fact that they embrace this concept.

i feel like that. i know too many odd things..

the wolf is my totem..and it is extremely strong with me at the moment. guiding me..giving me strength. my heart and soul howl proudly and strongly! perhaps i was a wolf in a past life, or will be in the next life :) i think the coolest thing would to be the wolf, but retain my human memories..or..hm..be me still, but in a wolf's body. yeah..that would be cool. how funny would it be to walk into your house and find a wolf at your computer responding to board replies on gaia?

I would be torn between laughing and running the heck away if I saw a wolf on a computer.
So, the wolf is your totem? From what I understand in the animal spirit world, they are teachers. That's awesome.
So you'd want to come back as a wolf, huh? That'd be cool to be able to run wild and free. :)

first of, this is an interesting thread..let me just say that.
Reincarnation, quite a concept. I am hindu, and Indian. I do not know intimately of our various philosophies, but I have heard a few of my peers talking about the cycle of death and rebirth. We are all to follow the path of 'Dharma' which is a code of conduct set forth for man by the gods (or maybe even by themselves, im not sure).
If one follows Dharma to the word one can break from the cycle and achieve salvation (i think). That is what mt religion says and I believe it.
Even otherwise thinking about life and each living thing, it is impossible to accept that death is 'it', the final ending. We are all energy, and energy cannot be extinguished. The flame inside cannot be put out even by death (perhaps a little too poetic).
I love the belief among a few cultures that life is simply a dream, and it is when we die, that we truly wake up. it is such an elegant attempt at an answer.
But to answer the question which is this thread, yes, I do believe in reincarnation.

I'm beginning to.. After reading a book on Egypt and it's religious aspects, I discovered that most races one way or another started around Egypt(!).

I've had quite a few dreams in my life that is themed quite heavily on Egypt. Sometimes I was Pharoh, sometimes a Pharoh body guard, and even sometimes an Egyptian Slave. I've died (I think) a couple of times in these dreams, other times getting wounded in battles.

If reincarnation is real; I'm still a bit too skeptical to believe it, even with all the dreams I've had, I believe I have lived and died a few thousand years ago in Egyptian times. Wish I could find out for real though… I just hope I was Pharoh back then, and not a slave!

Interesting, maybe you were all of the above. The Pharoh's existed for a long time right? So maybe.
I think we all have had our good lives and our bad. At least yours seem to have an origin. When I dreamt of things like that I had no idea when or when they took place.
Cool, thanks for sharing.

Love this thread. I'm from The Netherlands, and we have a very interesting website on reincarnation in English. The content is about development of humans to a more spiritual nature, who and what spiritual guides are, and how everyone evolves through past and future lives to fulfill the task of earth lessons, and finally ascend to the spiritual world themselves as a guide, and finally become an angel.

There is also talked about a fenomenon called angelhumans. I wonder if anyone has had an encounter with one.

Here's the link: http://www.merudi.net/cgi-bin/cl/index.pl?page=/en/angelhuman/2_the%20difference%20between%20the%20human%20angel%20and%20the%20angel%20human.htm

Hi Bubbles,

Yes, Doreen Virtue is amazing. I sometimes wonder if I encountered one recently. I think I do. I was told once, Angelhumans can sometimes be detected by Reiki masters. The most important difference between an Angelhuman and a regular human, is the absence of a soul. An Angelhuman is directly connected to the Source with her Angelic consciousness. Therefore, the Ego will be more evolved to compensate for the absence of a soul. The big Ego can be hard to deal with, by both the Angelhuman and the people she's connected to.

Blessings,
Nino.

Can you explain the definition of a soul? I always thought that a soul was the energy/esence of being that carry on to the after life. Therefore we all have them angel human or not.

Re: Do you believe in reincarnation?

nion said Jul 24, 4:18 AM:

Hi Bubbles,

The theory states that an Angel is already in the Angelic dimension. This means that they've gone through all lives on earth, through being a spiritual guide for others on earth, finally evolving (back) to the Angelic condition. An angel is a powerful energy archetype, therefore not being a single soul like us. The Angel descends to earth directly, therefore the soul is not in question. There is none.

An Angel is an evolved being, which may have been split up in the past into several souls. Do you know about the Twin flames, Twin souls and Soul groups or families? When an twinsoul (2 souls) merge into one, this can be the phase in which a soul evolves to a higher form. Sometimes more souls need to merge or melt together to evolve a new being with a higher counsciousness.

Souls can already be merged on an energetic level here on earth. It's a preparation to what ever comes next. That's the big secret we all share, without an absolute certainty of fully understanding it, until that special moment.

The website gives an explanation on how a soul works and how it interacts with other souls. The difference between how this works with an AngelHuman is also explained.

Sparks,
Nino.

It's interesting I find this thread now after I JUST barely finished reading a book my parent's gave me by Ruth Montgomery called “A World Beyond”, which talks about reincarnation in explicit detail, as dictated by a soul just recently passed over through automatic writing.

Ruth's story is interesting in and of itself, because she was a complete non believer when she was initially introduced to the concept. A well respected political journalist for many years before her sister draged her to a seiance and her editor told her to do a series on a journalist going to seiances to give her a break. It was a huge sucess and she ended up meeting a very powerful and carefully documented physic named Author Ford, who broke the Hudini code. (For those who don't know, Hudini and his wife had a pact, that should either one of them die first they would work out a code between them so that if it was possible to send a message from the other side, they would use this code only they would know, to show it was real)

Arthur Ford became close friends with Ruth and told her that she had the makings of being a very good automatic writer, which is the pratice of going into a medative state, and allowing discoperate enities to write through you, with pen and paper or even a typewriter. She began this pratice and has written many books with the information supplied to her using this method.

In “A World Beyond” Arthur Ford had recently died, but continued to contact Ruth and explains in very conversational and easy to understand English, what life is like on the other side. The process of reincarnation, the presence of higher spiritual entities and many other fascinating and intresting things most people would want to know.

On a simular note, there is anouther, more recent series of books published on much the same subject matter written by a man named Brian Weiss. Brian, like Ruth, was dragged into this subject as a complete non believer.

Brian Weiss is a very methodical psychologist, who was given evidence of past lives through what is considered fairly normal hypno-regression therapy of a patient who went further back in her time line than childhood into anouther life. He details his encounters in the book Many Lives, Many Masters. It's an intresting account of a man who was basically FORCED to believe in past lives through completely concrete evidence provided through his paitent, and some of the discorperates she began to channel in later hypnosis sessions. Brian has since written many other facinating books about the subject and his experinces.

So to answer your question, yes I believe in reincarnation. Much like Brian and Ruth, I've always been a bit skeptical, though I have believed in keeping an open mind, but it seems more and more lately, the information finds it's way to me even if I'm not actively seeking it out.

I would suggest these books to anyone of a more “Western” additude, meaning they require much evidence and hard facts to support the claims. These books do a very good job of giving them, while remaining easily understandable and even conversational in tone, rather than the some what vague and often less concrete voices that alot of “spiritual” type books can sometimes have.

Hi.
Yes, i believe in some form of reincarnation.
I just hate to think that this is my only chance to get it right on this earth, and so i believe that we each have more than one chance to get our work done and achieve whatever it is that we each feel we need to do.
I think that our souls do live on, and that we have past and future lives.

Yes, I do believe in reincarnation. The reason being that the way it was explained to me by my teachers made perfect sense. Then after studying scriptures that explained it, it still made perfect sense. I'll venture that most of us hold that the soul is eternal, and the body impermanant, then why shouldn't we take another body when this one wears out? It is said that human form is the highest level of evolution in the physical realm, and the only form that the soul can realize it's divinity. So, if you don't get the work done in one lifetime, hey, have at it again and again until you get it done!
someone once asked the Buddha how long have we been doing this? The answer was “Take a mountian six miles high, six miles wide, and six miles long, and every thousand years a dove flys over it and drags a silk scarf over it. The time it takes to wear away the mountain is your answer” Hmmm, no hurry I guess…..

I have always been interested in reincarnation; I just do not see the sense of living one life and not either getting a “do over” or a reward-or a punishment in the next life. I say that because I have heard the theory that what you come back as, is determined by your behavior in this life,

I have also heard, according to a number of religions, that our soul leaves the body-some say it hovers around the body for a few days; where does it go after that?

I also think our dear pets may come back in a different body; it certainly sounds comforting. I had a cat that I thought might have been my mom!!!

I had had some dreams which actually followed a story line…which does not make sense because dreams do not work like that right? Either way whatever information I gained from these dreams I can not say as to whether they are true or not.

What I can say is that I do not feel we are here to be punished for past transgressions in this life or any other. Rather I feel living a good, happy and prosperous, productive life is what matters. I think that we as humans put to much emphasis on attaining perfection, if your already a good and decent person then nothing else really matters. I think it depends on if you learned from your mistakes and truly only you know in your heart what your life's lessons are.  No one else has a say in that once you realize certain things yourself and make a conscience effort to not make them again. That is growth!
Your relationship with your own “Higher Power” is no one else's concern and I believe that. You feel your answer in your own heart.
I would always ask what would a previous life have to do with this life if you have no memory of it and are not living in that time period now?
We often think we have to pay for the wrongs we have done on such a level whereby we are too hard on ourselves or each other sometimes. (keeping in mind that some deeds do require justice in so far as criminal activity) I do not think re-living anything in this life is conductive to healing or growth. What I do think healing is about is finding what you are good at, something whereby you find peace, love, support and a willingness to learn because it excites you and from there you become more productive. Which has a positive effect on the whole. People need to have something to look forward to whereby love flows freely into them. The ripple and the positive thirst for growth through joy. I too need this in my life.
The past is the past and it has passed by. It does not serve the purpose of our present purpose:)
I have a dog here that I found at 7 months of age he was a fear biter. He must have been hit and was dog aggressive, maybe he had to fight as such a young age.
When I took him in I never did anything to remind him of his old life or old owners. He deserved to have confidence in me and a chance to build his confidence.  I figured his goodness deserved a chance to shine through and he would show me the truth in his heart once his fear went away. He is a magnificent dog and through love found a willingness and joy in learning. I too learned about truth and my own growth and the person I am.
Much love & Light,
Liza

There's living in fear, or living in love. And by living we can
learn in fear, or learn in love

I do believe in reincarnation but have never felt like I've met someone I used to know (maybe we just have not found one another yet). But from the time I was a very small child, I had a strong attraction to pictures of New York City. And when I started to talk, I had the accent. People would ask my mother what part of New York we'd come from when they'd spoken to me and she would tell them we'd never even visted New York. They'd give her a quisical look and ask why I spoke the way I did, especially with all my “r” 's and she would say she had no clue. To this day I feel pulled to New York City, and more specifically towards the NYC of the fifties era. I am convinced this was the time and place of a past life but am unsure whether or not I want to dig into it more.
