How do you feel about living in a body?

Kundan said Sep 23, 12:19 AM:

How do you feel about living in a body?
How do you feel about living in YOUR body?
How do you relate to your body?
Do you feel that you ARE your body or that you HAVE a body?
If so, who or what are you?

I find it both amazing and frustrating living in a body.  I like my body.  I think its a great way to learn about the power of my own thinking and feeling – I can make myself well or ill.  I think my body is the embodiment of my mind, the embodiment of my own thinking and feeling.  I feel that I have a body.  I understand myself as mind, soul and spirit (invisible) objectified as body (visible).

I like my body, but it is strange sometimes. A blessing and a curse, all at the same time. Sometimes I feel more expansive than any physical form could ever hold, yet other times I feel small and insignificant. I guess the key is really to find balance, the middle way, the third side of the coin.

Sucky but necessary for incarnation!

The thing I find most intriguing about living in a body is the amount of time I give to it's 'preservation' and upkeep.

Logically it is simply a mode of transport and communication yet if I gave in to it's demands for attemtion I would spend all my time grooming it and keeping it in peak condition, so that ultimately it would be the fittest best looking body in the cemetary.

I am not my body any more than my car is me when I'm driving it.

Living in a body seems expedient for the present, for gaining experience in the physical sensual world, though it certainly has its limitations, not the least one being 2 dimensional travel if unaided.

I don't see it as my body ownership wise.  I have it on loan until it wears out then I will leave it so it can return to the earth from which it came and I will move on to the next experience.

I am spirit, I have a soul and presently I live and express myself in and through this body.

Having had OBE's, I feel more spirit than body, it is a gift while incarnated here, and I try to respect it,and relateto it by appreciating the miracle of nature that it is,  but  I won't be afraid of leaving it, without body the universe is available to us.  I am spirit having a human experience

I feel very much that my body is doing the work of helping me to transform my personality.

It's difficult, because “the knowledge of good and evil” is mostly the realization that what we do to our bodies lives on in our spirits after we die. Because the world is dominated right now by people that gain power through intimidation, that's pretty hard for many of us. We carry a lot of spiritual garbage around that other people have dumped into us.

The really wonderful thing is to open yourself to someone that looks lovingly into you and helps you clean up the mess. When you don't have such a person in your life, having a body can really hurt.

Even so, if we can avoid situations of physical assault, a body is great in spiritual conflict because it is relatively dense. As long as we love our bodies and take care of them, it can be very hard for spiritual predators to penetrate the core of our personality. What's even worse for them is that they realize that it actually feels pretty good to be us, so they tend to fall into us and be unable to get out. That connects us to them in a transformative process. Their greed for good things drives them to emulate us.

So on the whole, having a body is pretty cool.
