I'm back in Unknowns, starting from the beginning to pick up any I missed. 

So far… Page 30 (6275).  Progress!!

I’m now in the process of preparing to move out of my house (whether I do or not is uncertain) with a timeline of end of April, so something’s gotta give, and while I can maintain my pod-sustaining activities, I doubt I will be doing any editing.

But more power to ya, Tsuya, you are a wonder.

Yes, Tsuya is a one -man woman person [;o ] wonder!

I’m starting with new quotes; usually do a page to ensure the new ones are taken care of, and then on to Aristotle.

Unknowns page 41…   6277 - 6246 (meaning over 400 messes - ai!)…  And Leonard Cohen (still don't know when we get picture-adding capabilities!)… and some new quotes dupe checking, ed, del.

NO WORRIES, OM!  And GOOD LUCK finding with the possible move!!!

OK, now I see that Aristotle after P. 13 seems to have sources added and so on.
I don't want to handle the quotes right now of our resident coach with >1000 quotes.

So, onward to Tzu, Lao (224)

As there are multiple translation of the Tao Te ching; the main thing I'm doing to these quotes, is adding tags and spellchecking.

Meenakshi, I do the same thing with scanning the new ones down to where I last added quotes, which are a good placemarker and also reviving after looking at so many stinkers!  What does 'resident coach with >1000' mean?

LOL!  Yes, I often see Dali - I always think of Salvador Dali, and it gives a funny surrealism to things.  But the more floral Dalia was new to me!  He's also in the DB many, many other ways…  People are just so… creative!

LOL, Meenakshi - I love the extra aas - Laaaaahhhhmaaaaaaahh - so peaceful!

Just for you, I went back after all the dali lama's and MANY creative spellings and rounded them up to  Dalai Lama - Dalia's still my fave!

Yes Dalia for a laugh and Dalai Lama is always up for that! Every time I've seen him, he's been laughing, bopping lamas on the head or generally being happy and real and therefore REAL!

His Holiness is also known as Tenzin Gyatso.  People sometimes use this in attributing quotes to him (only one in gaia)
I say this because there are published writings by other Dalai Lamas.
I can see putting information like this into the source attribution.

Dang, I missed one?  Oh, yes - I left that one alone for the time being due to its doubtful attribution - as you pointed out!  I moved the rest of Tenzin Gyatso's to Dalai Lama, along with XIV Dalai, HH Dalai, etc. etc.

Yes, there are other Dalai Lamas (Lamae??), but 14's the rockstar in the West (and the one with pic here on gaia), and that's how he's usually attributed.  Rather than adding to the source attribution, the author should be updated with all his various info - we can't do that yet - TEAM ? can you do your magique??  And erase the 14 or so other versions, if possible?  In fact, can you disappear an author if no quote or book is attributed to him/her??

Without verifying, I think you are right. Hip to means knowledgeable, and hep on means approving of. As I recall.

I think if the book author is written as Tenzin Gyatso it should go that way – but usually they're shown as wirtten by ” Dalai Lama”.

Haven't posted in a coupla days cause I wanted to motor through the unknowns…

What I've noticed in doing about 10 pages a sitting is that about 50 quotes can be reattributed or deleted as dupes - that's half!  So of approximately 100 quotes, 25 are easily reattributed (usually from info user provides), and 25 are easily delible (from keyword searches).  Of course, that also means about 50 get left to unknown, of which maybe 25% are self-quotes, 5% are movie quotes and 1% unattributable due to author error.

I also worked on Stephen Mitchell (and others- lao tse, lao tsu, etc) reattributing Tao Te Ching quotes to Lao Tzu…

And Gandhi, reattributing Mahatma (23) and Mohandas (2) and Mohandas (1) and M. K. (18) to Gandhi (243), checking for dupes as I went.  Still a lot there, methinks, and maybe some attributed to Gandhiji, the other one with pic - which is a gaia user (much like the Kahlil Gibran scenario).

Also Carl Sagan (x2) and e.e. cummings (E.E. etc.)
