Sore Mouth?

ChristyK [no longer around] said Dec 17, 2007, 2:33 PM:

This is kind of a gross topic, but sometimes when I eat raw nuts or certain raw foods it feels like I am on the verge of getting a fever blister. Then it ususally goes away within a couple of hours. Recently a friend told me she can't eat any of our other friend's food (who is a raw shef now seling her stuff at Whole Foods in Nashville and Atlanta) because it make her mouth break out.

Does any one know what causes this?

Thanks,
Christy

i recently heard Gabriel Cousens stopped serving and selling raw cashews at his center because of the mold issue on these nuts

I have been having that issue as well, though this is new as of maybe this past year. I had never experienced that before.

It usually happens when I go to our raw potluck. There are always all sorts of wonderful nut mixes, pates, and spreads of one form or another -all things I do not normally make for myself and therefore indulge a little at those time. I often end up with a blister on the inside of my mouth.

It takes about a day or so to completely go away.

I have not been able to pin point it to a specific nut, be it cashew or other.

Hello!

I have read you are not supposed to eat nuts without soaking them first, or they are not digestible.

Everybody is different also, and if you find your body doesn't like it, then I'd just stay away.

Try soaking them first and see if that helps. I'm sure ify ou google it there is a website somewhere that tells you how long to soak each type.

Also, thats interesting about cashews….maybe its because they have the highest sugar content of all nuts (and also why I love them the most lol)

Any high-glycemic food (high sugar) should be eaten in moderation.
